Lily's eyes widened at Husk when he called her a turtle. Who compares a person to a turtle? Lily knew he was joking, it was just a little weird to her. She sighed a little before she heard Husk continue. She smiled a bit at his Country Accent poking through his words as he talked. She really did love those kinds of accents. She would take one of those over her English one any day.
Her eyes brows burrowed a little when Jacob left. It seemed weird to her. Like he was trying to avoid something. She knew she didn't have a right to know, and it wasn't like she was going to ask. She shook her head and called out a bye to Jake before turning to Husk.
"Like what? What do you want to know?" Lily hated talking about herself, but she figured she'd answer questions if he wanted her too. It couldn't hurt. She almost said something about the turtle comment, but decided against it.

Jake's response to Husk's question wasn't very surprising. Being from a military background he was pretty good at reading people, and Jake definitely seemed like he had something he was hiding, but Husk wouldn't pry. Instead he turned to Lily as she spoke. "Well, anything really. The question was quite open to interpretation. You could've told me your favorite color, or anything you could think of. Just something that'll let me get to know you a bit better. I mean, you already know a lot about me, more than most people know, except for the American part...I kind of stick out like a sore thumb around here." He chuckled a bit with his last sentence. He looked at her for a second and felt he should explain his turtle comment. People where he grew up might get it, but not many others did. "Oh, and I called you a turtle 'cause of the way you keep going into your shell, your protective mind. Turtles do the same, sticking their head out of their shell, and then moments later retreating back in."

"Right... I'm not used to talking about myself. I'm a daddy's girl. My favorite color is pink. I don't have many friends because I'm too shy. I have great grades and I don't know why I was sorted in Gryffindor" Lily told him the obvious stuff. Not really wanting to explain the reasons behind everything. She didn't know if she wanted to tell him anything at all.
The turtle expression kind of pissed her off. She didn't llike being compared to some kind of animal. But she let it go, she knew he didn't mean any harm by it.
"I'll answer any questions if you really want. But I don't know what else to say." She told him the truth. She really didn't like talking about herself. Part of it was because of the shyness. Other part was because of the fact she could barely trust anyone but her dad.

Husk smiled at the reluctance to share with him. "You know you don't have to answer my questions. You could just tell me to get up and leave. I wouldn't be offended in the least." He just wanted her to know that he didn't want to make her uncomfortable, and that he would respect her wishes. He was raised that way, the Southern Way. Where you gave the shirt off your back to a stranger in need, always respected a lady, and never talked back to your parents.
He thought about it for a second then he decided to add, "If you really do want to answer my questions, then I have one for you that I really want to know, since I really haven't asked anyone before. What's it like living in a house with other witches and wizards?" It was a simple question, but one he never got around to asking any of his friends.

Lily actually laughed when she heard Husk's comment. She didn't know why she found it funny, but she did.
"Do you think that if I didn't want to answer your questions that I would still be here?" Lily smiled at him and relaxed a bit. It wasn't like he was some horrible person. He actually seemed nice. It's not like he was going to tell anyone. There wasn't anything huge to tell.
"It really isn't that different than you think. At least, not for my family. We try to keep a few muggle things in the house. Like a t.v. and such. But there are the wizard things. Like a house elf, and how my mom does certain things with magic. Knits, cooks, cleans. She's rather lazy." Lily joked with Husk. It felt nice... not hiding in her shell for once.
