Andrew was busy fixing his robes then he sighed. He hated parties. He had invited Tyler, Blake, Blaze, Tommy, and Laurinda. Blaze said that she was coming with a date of her own which surprised Andrew greatly. Who was she bringing with him? And more importantly, was Alex coming? And who was he bringing with him?
Andrew hoped that the Healer wouldn't bring a date at all. He was willing to spend the whole party with just Alex. And Tyler too. Blake not so much since he was in his confusion phase. Another sigh left Andrew's lips. Professor McKinney had allowed Tommy to come only because Blaze asked and assured the Professor that she was going to look after Tommy very well.
He was in the main lobby, welcoming guests into their home along with his parents. Denise was inside the ballroom, talking to everyone and making small talk here and there. Andrew sometimes found his sister rather scary when it came to hosting formal parties. "I wonder if Alex is coming..." he thought out loud. ~ Andrew's Suit

Alex hadn't been to anything quite so formal in a while. There had been this Christmas party for his collegues at the hospital and it started off supposedly formal. But at the end of the night it wasn't quite so much. This was bound to be different from that complete sham. He'd behave himself. Not drink too much. Not make a fool out of himself. Not be too Alex. Alex just hoped that Reid would show up soon.
Apparating with crack just beyond of the villa's fence, Alex arrived alone. Hopefully he wouldn't be dateless for long and his partner would decide to appear. That would be the best. Alex had partly taken great care piecing together his formal attire just for him. And he'd done his hair too so it didn't feebly flop in front of his face and instead it was in a stylish but casual half-quiff thing. Sorting out his cuffs and generally tidying himself up if he could any more, Alex walked up the long driveway and rang the doorbell.
He was greeted by a flood of gentle light and warmth when the door opened and he promptly slide into the house. Alex was rather impressed. This place was massive compared to his shoebox of an apartment. It was strange but Alex actually preferred smaller living quarters personally. They seemed more homey and he could easily pour himself into every inch of the flat. Here... it was just too big.
Peering around, Alex wasn't too sure what to do. Yeah, he was here but... there were so many unfamiliar faces. Maybe he should of just stayed with Reid, dressed him and forced him out so he went with him at the same time. Although Alex didn't look out of place, he sure felt it. At least Andrew was here. Somewhere.
Alex scanned a handful more of unknown faces before having his eyes settle on Andrew. Breathing a sigh of relief, he strode up to him, running nimble fingers through his hair while he did. "Buenas noches Andrew." He smiled. Alex leaned forward to greet him in the continental way, his preferred way, but caught himself. It'd probably be weird. Since his parents were probably lurking about. He thrust him his hand instead for him to shake. "Yeah... this all looks great. And you look pretty great too. That suit..." Alex winked and gave a thumbs up. "...is pretty smooth."

Andrew laughed as he shook Alex's hand. He knew that the Spaniard was about to greet him with a kiss on the cheek but then decided against it at the very last second. "I'm glad that you could make it, Alex. You seem to have arrived alone. Did you not invite someone else?" Andrew asked, half hoping that the man would say no.
Then, Lord Christopher and Lady Anastasia came out and stood next to Andrew. "Hello, you must be a friend of Andrew's." his father extended his hand towards Alex. "I am Christopher and this is my lovely wife, Anastasia. We hope you enjoy the party." the Lord said with a gentle voice.
"Father, this is Alexander Torres, a healer at St.Mungo's. Alex, these are my parents, Lord Christopher and Lady Anastasia Maxwell." Andrew introduced Alex to his parents with his angelic smile.
"It's lovely to have met you. Our son has very few friends. I for one am glad that he invited them here. Please enjoy your stay." She said. Before leaving Andrew and his guest, "Andrew, be a dear and escort him inside for a drink." his mother instructed before disappearing into the crowd.
Andrew sighed. "Well, you have met them. And I shall now escort you inside because my robes do not keep out the cold weather of England." Andrew said as he slipped his hand under Alex's waist and led him inside.

Just as well he didn't greet Andrew with the cheek-to-cheek custom he had back home since the teen's parents were suddenly in their presence. Maybe from now on he'd stick to handshakes for everyone just in case. "Pleasure to meet you, sir." Alex smiled, taking the man's hand and giving it a firm shake. "Madam." He then turned to the lady and gave a small bow, nothing too fancy, just a tilting of his body in her general direction. Alex was being polite, you had to be to the hosts. If you weren't... you weren't making over the doorstep. End of story.
"Your parents seem nice." Alex hummed, watching them move over to greet some other guests. Andrew seemed like a pretty lucky guy. He had a nice home, nice parents from what he made out and a nice financial status. A bit different from Alex, if he had to say so himself.
"I've invited Reid... he'll probably be around later." I hope. Alex sighed, undoing his robe to hand to to the guy who was tending to coats. "Like... when I least expect it or something. He has a habit of turning up suddenly and catching me off guard." He chuckled lowly and allowed himself to be guided by Andrew's arm. It was just a friendly nudge. Nothing to misread here.
"Hopefully he won't be too long..." Alexander murmured partly to himself, stealing one last glance over his shoulder at the driveway before it left his sight.

Andrew was pleased that Alex didn't squirm as he led the man inside. "Please, feel as if this is your home as well. It'll be easier tfor you to be comfortable." Andrew said as they entered the lobby filled with people. He truly hated parties but had to go along or his sister would kill him when he slept.
"You know, I am quite pleased that you came alone then. I have time to manipulate my guest before Ty and your date arrives." Andrew joked as he showed Alex the ballroom where everyone was. He found and pulled his sister out for a few minutes.
"Denise, this is Alexander Torres, a healer at St. Mungo's. The man that I was with when you came and dragged me away when we were at Diagon Alley." he turned to Alex. "This is my annoying but one and only sister, Denise." she bowed.
"It's nice to meet you, Healer Torres. My brother has spoken of you since we got back. you must have done something to capture his attention." she joked and laughed lightly. "However, I must attend to my other guests as well. Please enjoy the party and I shall see again later." she said and left them.
Andrew wanted to strangle her when she mentioned that Andrew talked to her about Alex. "Please don't pay attention to what that little witch said. She's evil in every sense of the word." Andrew sneered at the direction of his sister.

Manipulate his guest? Now that didn't sound too friendly, Alex thought with a chuckle. But if Tyler arrived before Reid, Alex would most probably leave. Being the third wheel was not at all fun. He didn't know if he could mingle well with the other guests. He highly doubted that he had anything in common in any of them.
"Evening, Denise." Alex smiled, offering the girl the same bow he had given their mother. When she talked about how her brother had been talking about Alex, he glanced sideways and raised an eyebrow slightly. He didn't speak until she was out of earshot and attending to other guests. "Speaking of me? I hope you only said nice things, Andrew." Alex laughed merriy and flattened down his waistcoat, ridding it of any creases caused from bowing out of politeness. "I'll be disappointed in you if they weren't."
Alex gave the younger man a small nudge on his upper arm, signalling that he meant nothing by it, that he was just playing around with him. "I had a sister too. I know how it is. So no worries." He gave a small shrug as he peered about the ballroom properly. Yeah, just this room was bigger than his apartment. A depressing observation on his part. But he brushed it off. Sometimes that was just how life was. Some get all the luck. Others not so much.
"What about that drink you were meant to offer me, hm?" Alex smiled, trying to distract Andrew so he ceased to glare daggers into his sister's back. "I had a little sister. She was just as bad. So don't fret."

Andrew smiled at Alex, "I only gave the highest praise of you, Alex. That's all." he reassured his guest and he ushered Alex to the bar near the wall. "Two glasses of fire whiskey on the rocks please." Andrew said and the bartender instantly had his order. "Here you are, Lord Andrew." the man smiled and went to serve another guest.
Andrew gave the other glass to Alex and led them both to the nearest seat by the wall. "I think it would be better for us to stay here to avoid bumping into people and spilling the drinks on them." he joked as he took a sip of his drink.
"So, this Reid you spoke of earlier, is he a friend of your from the hospital? As far as I know, no staff named Reid works at Hogwarts." Andrew commented with a smile. He knew that this Reid person is, more or less, someone special to Alex or he would not have invited him to go to this party with him.

Alex took his glass with a small gracias and a grateful smile. He followed Andrew to the seats that he led them to and sank into a chair with a content sigh. It was probably best this way - he didn't fancy spilling his drink on anyone. Some people looked like they were dressed in outfits that'd cost him more than a month's salary to replace. Alex would never be able to get used to a lifestyle like this. It was so... bizarre to him.
"Reid?" Alex was snapped back into reality on hearing his boyfriend's name. With a coy smile, he calmly brought his glass up to his lips and took a sip. Good thing with Firewhiskey was that it made his blushes less noticeable. The heat and burning sensation it gave him always left him looking flushed anyway. "Reid's friends with Chase, Brent and me. He works in the Ministry of Magic in the magical games section..." Alex took a small breath, trying not to smile too widely. "And he's the guy that I'm dating." Andrew was probably the first person besides his other two friends that he had gone ahead and told that he had a boyfriend. It felt so weird still. Like a foreign word on his tongue.
"We haven't been dating long but..." Alex gave a casual roll of his shoulders and stared into the depths of his drink thoughtfully. "...its serious. Heck, its the only serious relationship I've ever had." He scoffed a small laugh and shook his head, sipping some more of the alcoholic beverage before turning his head back to Andrew. "Hopefully you'll get to meet him. He's...well...great."

Andrew was half away to finishing his glass. He smiled politely at everyone passing by while listening to Alex. "A boyfriend... Well then, I have 2 options now." Andrew began and smirked. "Either I remain behave and just be friends with you and befriend this Reid you spoke of..." He took a sip of his drink.
"Or, I'll try my luck and snatch you away from him." he laughed softly. "But then again, Ty wouldn't be too happy about me doing such a thing so I might as well go with option 1. Don't you agree?" he asked Alex. He wanted to have a little bit of fun. And making Alex blush scarlet was one of them.
"You know, it's a really mistake to leave such a beautiful creature like you alone and in the care of someone with an agenda. Reid should have arrived with you if he didn't want you being a visual temptation to other guest and the host himself." Andrew said with a smirk as he brushed Alex's cheek with his thumb.

Was this guy being serious? Surely he was joking. He had to be. They barely knew each other and already he was... aha. Fate. You are a wicked temptress. She had lined him up with a boy that was as shameless as he when it came to flirting. Except that this time round Alex had something holding him back, something that made him not want to be the old Alex - Reid. "Yeah, I'd rather you, uh, went with option one, okay?" Alex stole a sidewards glance at his flirtacious friend before taking another small drink on his Firewhiskey. He didn't look back in Andrew's direction. A mix of heat from the drink and from a flush was creeping up his neck and mercilessly into his cheeks.
And then... he called him beautiful? And touched his cheek?! Oh Merlin. If Reid came in now... Alex was going to die. Right there and then. Just die. The spaniard had turned his head round to look at Andrew. His face was pinkened and his deep amber eyes were widened. What... was... Andrew... doing?? Didn't Alex just tell him a second ago that he had a partner? "An-Andrew. Stop." Alex whispered, bringing his hand up to his cheek to gently guide Andrew's away. "Reid's probably going to come. And if he doesn't... I-I... just no. You have Tyler, right? Focus on him. Not me." Alexander snapped his gaze away from Andrew and back to his drink. This was a situation that he certainly wasn't used to. Rewind a month and the outcome would of been a whole different one.

Andrew just had to laugh. "I never said I wasn't going to focus on Tyler? But seeing his not here yet, I am allowed to have a little fun." then he moved away from Alex. The scarlet blush was there and he was happy with it. He enjoyed teasing the people around him.
"You know that I'm just teasing you right?" Andrew told Alex who seemed to have thought that Andrew was serious about everything he said. "However..." Andrew began and pulled Alex's face by the chin to face him. "If you prefer me not joking, I shall be happy to keep on making you blush, Alex."
"It does suit you." he said and smirked. The people around them were whispering but Andrew didn't care. He was going to enjoy his night and a few whispers were not going to bother him one bit. He stared at Alex's eyes for what seemed like a long time, hoping that Tyler didn't arrive yet and see them.
The last thing Andrew wanted was for Tyler to be mad at him tonight. He had plans for them later. That is if Tyler was going to agree.

Alex was getting confused. And he didn't like it. Andrew didn't mean anything by this, did he? That was good. Alex was just some way to entertain himself while Tyler got here.... wait, that wasn't good at all! And that stupid blush. It was no biggie, just a natural body reaction to this distressing situation. So why Merlin did he have to point it out? It just made it worse. And the people whispering not-so-subtlely weren't exactly helping either.
Alex was just lowering his glass down from his mouth after savouring the last spot of whiskey when Andrew grabbed his chin and jerked it around. Before he might've been a rose hue in colour but now he was going crimson. What was getting into Andrew? Why was he being like this?
Alex sat there for a moment, stock still, registering all this. He slowly brought his hand up to Andrew's and tugged it away from the hold he had on his chin. You never rejected the host in an embarrassing manner that would get the other guests gossiping. "Andrew, I seriously do not know what's going on with you but, please, stop." Alex's voice was low, the 'r's rolling off his tongue like silk. "You may just be playing, you might not but... stop, okay? I have Reid. I know, definitely know, that he wouldn't approve of this."

Andrew was still smiling as he pulled back his hand slowly. "I was serious." and he looked serious. "Tyler means the world to me really. And because of him, I'm more comfortable now. I can easily flirt but not be serious about it. Just teasing and all." Andrew said as he smiled. He turned to look at Alex.
"Relax, I have no plans to get you in trouble with Reid and the rest of your friends if they found out that I actually did something. Professor McKinney and Professor Jackson do hold my grades as of the moment. And I will not jeopardize that." he said as he finished his whiskey.
"I'm sorry if I seemed serious and went beyond borders of teasing. you just looked too adorable with that blush on your face. And now it's crimson." he laughed heartily. "Peace?" Andrew said as he peaked at Alex. The man was fun to mess with but he couldn't replace Tyler.

Alex was probably a bit of a hypocrite when it came to teasing. He personally disliked it passionately. But then on the other hand it was one of his preferred games to play when it came to Reid. Andrew wasn't going to be an exception and Alex found himself truefully irked when he was told that he had been the mere object of teasing. Alex narrowed his eyes a fraction and willed his blush away as he awkwardly turned back around in his seat to face the large expanse of the ballroom. "Glad that your having fun then." Alex drawled, sarcasm dripping heavily off every word. He rolled the empty glass about in his hands, letting the melting ice cubes slide around in their fluids. He handed it to Andrew and pressed it into his hand.
"Peace if you be a good host and get me another drink?" Alex smiled and winked, trying to abate his temper that growled within the deep confines of his chest. He wouldn't let one of Andrew's "innocent" games ruin him for the rest of the night. Besides, hopefully Reid would come soon and this would all be forgotten. This all felt weird though - before he'd be the one in Andrew's shoes, teasing shamelessly anything of the male gender and with two legs but now... he wasn't too keen on it. Reid's doing. Obviously.
"And do it again... I'll hex you. I'd like to see you tease with your tongue glued to the roof of your mouth." And Alex winked again. His tone was merry and light yet there was something to it that said that he meant business. "I don't enjoy being a toy to someone who just wants to entertain themselves until their date arrives."

Andrew smiled and snapped his finger. A waiter apparated beside him, holding a tray of assorted drinks. "Since I promised to behave now, you'll be drinking martinies until your date arrives." Andrew said as he took Alex's empty glass and replacing it with a martini glass.
However, Andrew got another glass of Fire whiskey. He was alright with it. The waiter left and Andrew smiled angelically at Alex. "So, tell me more about Reid. He seems to be a great guy. For you to not play back with me that is." he told Alex. Indeed, Reid sounded like Alex's whole world.
"You know, went I met Tyler, and got to know him a little, he turned out to be the greatest person I have ever met. He was just the perfect friend. He listens and understands me and what I'm going through. His patient and funny." Andrew laughed. "But what to hear something funny?" he asked as he turned to Alex.
"Tyler's a Gryffindor. And I'm in Slytherin. The legendary rival houses of Hogwarts since the time of the great Harry Potter, Savior of the wizarding world. Ironic isn't it?" he said and laughed again.
