"A vampire?" Alexander repeated after his friend, pulling back his sleeve once more to see just how white he was. He was certainly lacking the olive tone that the other members of his family had. He shrugged it off - he'd catch up in summer or something, or whenever they gave him time off.
Pushing the door to the astronomy tower, Alex blew out a nostalgic sigh. It had been years since he had been here. He was slightly out of breath after climbing the many flights of stairs but it was definitely worth it - the view was as spectacular as he remembered it.
"Besides the dorms, this was my favorite place of all Hogwarts." Alexander grinned, breezing over to a part bathed in sunlight and promptly sitting himself down there, propping himself against the wall. "You ever sneak up here with a date? I did once....then I tried again and some hag of a witch caught us." The young man snickered to himself, slipping his fedora from his head and placing it onto of his backpack. He had gotten quite a few detentions for himself and, obviously, not with the other guy he had been with. It never put the teenage Alex off though - it just made him more cautious whenever he snuck out.
""I don't think you're an alcoholic, Brent." Alexander shrugged. "No one's an alcoholic unless they let it get in the way of everything: their responsibilites, their hobbies, their friends, lovers, and so on...and you don't....do you?"

"Yeah....the grounds." Alexander chuckled, reaching into the tray and getting a beer out for himself - his reward for helping Brent to rescue them. "The best days were the sunny ones...by the lake...with a guitar and some friends." The young man smiled sadly to himself and took a deep sip of his drink. It wasn't all that cold. But it was nice anyway, soothing almost as he felt it slip down his throat. "Y´know? I'd happily be a student again. I thought life kinda sucked quite often but...they were the best times of my life. We were all together and...well...everything was simpler." The spaniard chuckled lightly and rested the can on his stomach while he gazed at the breathtaking view of the grounds, lake and forest given to them from their seating on the floor. Alex couldn't exactly say things were going better for him now. He still had the same bad habits and just had more responsibilities - but it was all a thing called growing up. "You never change." Alex snickered, drinking some more from his can. Brent's laidback personality was something that had always appealed to the young man. And none of that had really changed. "I wish I could but in my line of work...its maybe not such a good idea."

"Don't say thaaat." Alexander chuckled, taking another swallow of beer. "I don't remember seeing you like that." He hummed closing his eyes for a moment. The younger, teenage Alex never really thought ill of any of his band mates - especially Brent and Chase, for reasons most probably known only to him. The young man smiled back at Brent and placed his can to the side of him to sort out his sleeves, folding them backwards up to his elbows. If he had been alone, he would of just taken his shirt off but... Brent was here. It would just be awkward for himself. I don't know what I'd do if anyone was to die on me if it was directly my fault..." He unbuttoned his top button and stuffed his bag behind him, making a sort of cushion to lean against so he could get even more comfortable. Who knew when they'd randomly call him in. Alex was going to make the most of his free time to chill and wind down. "The guilt would eat away at me." He sighed, picking up his can again and taking a deep drink. "But I guess being Head of Ravenclaw isn't a walk in the park either... kids still as crazy as they were when I was here?"

would seeing as I'm one of the people who has to run around sorting out everyones problems." he rolled his eyes, growling in frustration. If Brent had expected being a head of house to be this stressful he would've declined the offer but he guessed it had its perks. Money being just one of them. And it wasn't as if Brent was the hardest worker. "It doesn't help that the head of Hufflepuff and Slytherin both hate me but, it's not too bad 'cause I wish they were never born too." Brent smiled bitterly. At least he had Chase, which was another bonus to his job.[/ul]

Alexander made an awkward jerking movement to the side on being firmly prodded in the ribs, wincing and sloshing beer over his hand. "Jodeeer." Alexander swore, more preocuppied with licking the spilled beer from his hand than to retaliate - no one wasted good beer. After that, he lifted up the side of his shirt, looked down, and fired an icy glare at Brent. That was going to leave a bruise, but then, almost everything left a blemish on Alex's pale skin - he bruised like a peach. "Yeah....maybe you are a douchebag." He grumbled, downing the little left in his can and throwing it at Brent, aiming for his head. Alex cracked open another can for himself, holding his scowl a little longer before letting it melt away into his usual, sunny smile. He could never stay angry long with his friends. Especially if they were just being themselves. As annoying and painful as it was. His smile was accompanied by a blush that stained his cheeks pink - Brent saying he'd trust his life in him gave the young man the fuzzies. Alex distracted himself by taking a deep drink and averting his gaze towards the grounds, away from Brent. "I bet you see the students that way now. But anyway, at least you kinda work with Chase, so not everything's so bad. Everyone has someone that they work with that they can't stand. Even me." Alexander smiled, taking another sip of beer. Beer and lemon caipirinhas - his preferred casual drinks. He'd have the odd spot of wine too at home but it was almost always for dinner. But if he felt lonely it wouldn't just be one glass. It'd end up being the whole bottle. "How are things going between you two anyway? And how is Chase? I haven't caught up with him recently."

"Yeah...I still love you." Alexander mumbled rather timidly, drowning his words after with beer. He knew that his little question would have no hidden meaning. No one ever thought of Alex more than a friend, Chase had proven that when they were kids, so why bother even suspecting that silly comment had meaning? Alexander sighed heavily and brought his knees up to his chest, letting his head loll back and lean against the wall. He glanced sideways at his friend and noted his blush. Alex made a single huff of laughter and rolled his head back, closing his eyes. "Still get all blushy over Chase?" Alexander murmured, raising an eyebrow but with his eyes still closed, sipping on his beer. "I haven't really met up with him in a long while. Should really tell him to go get a drink with me to catch up properly like we are now." The young man blew out a long sigh, feeling the sun's rays warm his body. He was feeling quite good right now, like a cat sunning itself in the sun. And the beer in his hand was an awesome touch. "I'm a terrible person, Brent." Alex frowned, finishing his can easily and setting it to his side. He placed his hands on his stomach, resting them there while he debated how much to tell Brent. He was his friend. He felt as though he could tell him everything but this... was something new. "I don't know how you can be friends with someone like me. I totally cocked it up with a guy this weekend. I was so...terrible....and mean." Not everyone took the question "Uh, what was your name again?" very well as a morning greeting. Especially if you had gone for a sort of date the night before.

call the next can his last. For a few long moments, Brent stared at Alex. He wasn't exactly the best person to go for if you wanted advise on these things. He'd give it a go anyway... "Hey, first, you're not a terrible person, okay?" he said firmly, "Trust me, or I wouldn't be talking to you right now. I'm sure whatever you've done isn't half as bad as what I've done lately." If anyone was a terrible person, Brent was pretty sure it was him.[/ul]

"Ay-ay-aaaay!" Alexander whined, gripping his pained side with his hand and sinking more to the floor. "I-I think its s-sweet!" The young man spluttered, mid-wince as he rolled up his shirt to survey what McKinney had done. He was going to need some of Witch Hazel's bruise ointment later on. Alexander fired Brent an unimpressed look and calmly tossed his other empty can at his head. Maybe he should of kept that blush comment to himself. But then it was fun winding Brent up, he took everything so personally. Alex made a face at Brent, sticking the tip of his tongue out, and fishing out another beer for himself. He took a drink, looking sideways at his friend while he spoke again. Alex rested his can on his chest with a sigh. He wanted to believe what Brent was saying, that he wasn't a terrible person, but he definitely felt like it. "Y eso? What've you gotten up to lately?" Alexander inquired, sipping on his beer with slight concern registering on his face. If it was worse that what he had been getting up to... Alex wanted to know. "Is it bad? I...I understand if you don't want to share..."

annoying. He was glad that had hurt Alex, he had so deserved it. Brent knew tended to always take things a little too personally but he was sure everyone was used to that by now so didn't really care. He winced as Alex managed to hit him again with his can but didn't retaliate and just rolled his eyes. "We're so mature." he chuckled eventually. "Well, I think me cheating on my wife with my best friend's worse, isn't it?" Brent sighed quietly before taking another sip from his beer and purposely looking away from Alex. It wasn't like he was particularly comfortable with talking about what had happened between him, Chase and Maryn; even with one of his closest friends. It just made Brent feel overwhelmingly guilty.[/ul]

"We are, aren't we?" Alexander joined in with Brent's chuckling, trying not to frown while he continued to nurse his side with his hand. Alex was definitely the worse off with all this immaturity. Brent's prods were a force to be reckoned with. They were jabby and painful. The spaniard raised his eyebrows at Brent's confession. He could only guess that he was referring to Chase. Who else? Reid? Alexander snickered inside at the idea. But he shook his head at his thinkings. This was serious stuff. Brent wasn't even looking at him anymore - this was either troubling him greatly or he felt terrible. Or both. Which was also a possibility. "Well...I guess that is pretty bad, I'm not going to lie." Alexander sighed, pausing to take a long pull on his can. "But, Brent, if you no longer love Maryn but love him... no one can force you to carry on in a loveless relationship. It'd tear the both of you apart anyway. Rather this than a few years down the line when you're tearing at each other's hair, right?" He reached over and gave his troubled friend's knee a reassuring rub. Sure, he was no one to talk, being that he hadn't had a serious relationship. Ever. But saying something was better than saying nothing. "I guess what I've been up to doesn't measure with that..." Alex sighed. He might of even been the "third person" in a relationship and wouldn't of even realized. That was just how much he knew about his flings. "I've just been kinda stupid... and I'm in need of a change. I need... I need something.. stable. A partner."

important, was it? "Me and her... it's over. I told her what was going on and, yeah, she ended it. And I honestly don't blame her for that." Brent sighed, he also didn't blame her for all of things she had said to them even if they had hurt him and were still hurting him now. A part of him would always love Maryn, however small that part was. Brent smiled a little at Alex. "You'll find that person, there's gotta be the right guy for you out there somewhere."[/ul]

Alexander's expression softened, melting into a more tender one. It wasn't pity, it was sadness for his friend. Break ups were almost always bad and painful from what he had heard. Alex hadn't had the fortune of feeling what Brent was possibly feeling right then, having never had anything substantial enough to even end. The young man couldn't fathom with precision how Brent was doing. He wanted to. But he couldn't. He could only really guess and imagine. "Things'll get better now." He smiled, giving his friend's leg a reassuring squeeze. "What's happened, happened. It was inevitable. But sometimes you've just got to roll with it, move on, and look to the future... a future that'll make you happy." Alexander was surprising himself. He peered down at his near empty beer can and blamed it for his sudden maturity. "But if you need cheering up, we should all go out someplace. I'm going out tonight... I just don't know if everyone else can." Maybe four friends, a round of beers and another of lame jokes was in order. And maybe some table top dancing, too. Alex finished his can and tried to squash it in his hands but failed miserably. With a small "gah" noise of defeat, it set it on the ground. "I'll find him eventually. Maybe if I stop screwing everything first I might be in for a better chance." Alexander chuckled and ran a hand through his hair, smiling into the sun. He'd keep to himself the little crush he had on Reid. Well, "little" was an understatement. But it'd be awkward if anyone knew. Things were going well between the band members - he didn't want to mess it up with his feelings.
