Chase didn't think he had ever been more happy in his entire life. Sure, the day had started out pretty much horrible, but it ended up with them getting their amazing baby girl. Chase and Alex had been right. Brent and him had a baby girl. Or... adopted a baby girl. As soon as she was born the mother said she didn't want to see her because she would want to end up keeping her and she couldn't do that. She signed the papers and Brent and Chase had their own baby.
It didn't take long for them to decide on what to name her. She looked like a Rose to them almost immediately. Brent and Chase didn't act like they were mad at each other what so ever. Chase thought it was because what they were doing was more important than their fight. Chase had barely let go of Brent's hand the entire time. They hadn't been allowed into the room itself while she was being born, but they were immediately after. Her name was Rose Rene. And she was perfect in every way.
Chase was suddenly glad that him and Alex had thought the baby was going to be a girl because they had made her room all pink. They had bought clothes for a girl and everything. Chase had figured he could exchange or take it back if it was a boy.
The first time Chase held Rose was probably one of the best moments in his life. That feeling of being a father... and actual father to someone. Sure... Rose wasn't his biological daughter, but to him she would always be him and Brent's.
As soon as they got home, Rose in one hand and Brent's hand in the other, Chase went straight for her room. She was so small... Chase's heart felt like it was healed almost. Him and brent hadn't talked about their fight, but it seemed like things were alright... didn't it? They would probably have to talk more about it later. Right now Chase knew they had to take care of Rose.
"There should be a box of diapers in the corner over there. And her clothes I bought are in the drawers. Her bed is made and fine, and she'll probably go down for a nap soon." Chase explained to Brent, smiling the entire time. Rose was in his arms still, of course he was smiling. "Wanna hold her?" Chase asked as he smiled toward his fiance.

. It had really only just dawned on Brent that he was a father now and he could honestly say knowing that little Rose was his and Chase's was an amazing feeling. It wasn't surprising he'd pushed all of his negative feelings aside, for now anyway. He knew they couldn't just leave things like this though. "Okay.." Brent said slowly, he was sure he wasn't going to remember where any of this stuff was, but he supposed it wouldn't be the end of this world, he knew roughly where everything was. "Yeah, of course." Brent smiled back at Chase before carefully taking Rose from his arms and held her close. Hopefully he wouldn't drop the poor thing on the floor or do anything else stupid and Brentish.[/ul]

Chase knew Brent was probably nervous about being a father. He was too. Right now Chase was just blinded by his love for Rose. He had wanted a baby for so long. Especially wanted one with Brent. Now he was getting it. He had a baby with the love of his life. No matter what they were fighting about before. Chase was pretty sure this would trump over anything.
When Brent took Rose, Chase didn't think he could ever be more happy. The sight of Brent holding their child was the best in the entire world. Chase went over and put his arms on Brent's waist, careful not to disturb the baby in his arms. Chase leaned forward and kissed Brent gently. "I love you so much." By now, the thoughts about Alex and what Chase had done were far gone. Chase wasn't thinking about that, or Murphy or anything. He was thinking about Brent, Rose, and their life together.

"She's amazing, isn't she?" Chase said as he looked down in Brent's arms since he had leaned into him. She may not be related to either of them by blood, but they were still going to be her father and therefore were going to love her for the rest of their lives. Chase knew that Brent didn't know if he was going to be a good father or not, but the look of his face as he looked at her told Chase he was going to be an amazing father.
"I think if we change her diaper, then she'll probably lay down. She has to be tired, and she just ate." Chase explained. "Do... you wanna change her? Or do you want me to?" Chase asked Brent. He wasn't entirely sure Brent knew how to even change a diaper. "Then we can go lay down for a while since we haven't gotten much sleep in a while." Chase said with a smile toward his fiance and a kiss on his head. Chase really just wanted to go lay in Brent's arms and cuddle with him. Then again. He wanted to be with their baby as well.

years. This could be interesting, Brent had a whole lot of learning to do. Brent decided to just go with what Chase was saying, he had to know more than him. Hell, anyone would have to know more about babies than Brent. "You can." he answered with a small chuckle, "You're gonna be a lot better than me at all of this." He knew Chase would probably end up doing a lot of baby stuff instead of him, Brent didn't want to do something wrong. Going to lay down sounded like a good idea, as much as Brent wanted to spend time with Rose, finally getting some sleep and snuggling with Chase sounded like an excellent idea. "Mmm. Sounds good to me." he smiled.[/ul]

Seeing Brent there, holding their baby and smiling down at her with that amazing smile of his made Chase want to attack him with kisses. It was such a turn on for Chase. Brent looked amazing with her. Especially when Chase was holding onto Brent while he held Rose. Their little, amazing family.
"I think you're going to be better than you think, Boo." Chase told him honestly with a smile before carefully taking Rose out of Brent's hands and over to their baby changing station. He grabbed one of the diapers he put in the drawer and the wipes in the drawer down. He quickly changed Rose. Smiling the entire time he did it. When he was done, he picked her back up and held her carefully. "Want to sing her to sleep? You have the better voice here." Chase chuckled at his fiance as he went back over to him.

Chase simply rolled his eyes at Brent. Only he would think that's the only thing he would be able to do for Rose. He'd get the hang of everything eventually, and until he did, well Chase didn't mind picking up what Brent didn't know. Chase knew there would be sleepless nights. He knew that whenever Rose was asleep, it was your sleep time too. Chase might have read a few books about being a parent after Brent had agreed to this.
"Come on. I'm sure she won't care what song you sing to her." Chase said as he decided it would be fine if Rose was laying in her crib when Brent sung to her. "Plus, the faster she gets to sleep, the faster we can go lay down." Chase said with a smirk as he laid her down and tucked her blankets around her. Pink ones, of course. Uncle Alex had made sure everything they bought was pink.

; their daughter. This was all too good to be true. It would last though, Brent was going to do his very best to make sure of that. Briefly, Brent smirked back at Chase before leaning against the bars of Rose's cot, bringing his hand down to ever so gently brush a finger against her cheek as he began to sing softly to her, "A daydream spills from my corked head, breaks free of my wooden neck, left a nod over sleeping waves..." Behind The Sea was just the most obvious choice for a lullaby.[/ul]

Seeing Brent lean over the crib like that... gently brushing Rose's cheek with his finger as he save Behind the Sea was one of the best sights in the entire world. It made Chase completely melt in front of him. His face was in a huge smile and Chase didn't think it was going to ever leave his face.
Slowly, Chase saw that Brent's singing did the trick. Rose's eyes gently started to close as Brent got about halfway through the song. It was a good song to sing. Nice and slow. Plus, babies loved it when their faces were touched as they fell asleep. So far, Rose was a good baby. She hadn't cried much. Which was a really good thing, but Chase knew the crying would happen.
When Chase thought it was safe and that Rose was sleeping, he wrapped his arms around Brent's waist and whispered in his ear. "Come on. Let's go to bed."

for once in his life... And Rose still looked adorable while she was sleeping. Brent knew that she'd wake up and start screaming and crying soon. All babies did that, even Brent wasn't dumb enough to not know about that despite not ever having to share a house with a baby. He smiled up at Chase as he was certain that Rose was properly asleep. Bed sounded like the best option for now. "Mmm hmm." he mumbled in agreement, moving to grab Chase's hand before slowly taking him to their bedroom.[/ul]

Chase smiled as Brent grabbed his hand and took them to their bedroom. Chase wanted to flinch at the sight of their bed, but fought it back. It wasn't the best place for him and Alex to make out, but it was where they were... and Chase wasn't thinking about how him and Brent would be in it later.
He had changed the sheets immediately. Even though they hadn't gone that far. Chase felt like he needed to. Things would be alright, eventually. Brent and Chase were okay, Chase thought at least. Alex and Reid would make up soon... and everything would be back to normal. Or so Chase hoped.
As soon as Brent had brought Chase into the room, Chase shut the door and slammed Brent against it. Their room was far enough away that Rose wouldn't be woken up by it, and it wasn't that loud either. Chase latched his mouth onto Brent's neck instead of his lips, however. Mumbling into it softly. "Too long... without this..." Chase knew Brent would understand perfectly fine.

Chase's lips on him, he was only supposed to be entitled to that as well. That hadn't stopped him though, had it? Would it stop him in the future? Perhaps the fact that they now had a daughter would help. Brent wrapped an arm around Chase's waist, pulling him closer and pressing their bodies together. He wanted to forget the mistakes they'd made just for tonight, even if that meant they'd still have to talk about this sometime.[/ul]

It too too long for Chase's liking for Brent to react. Chase knew him almost inside and out and therefore knew what he was doing, he was thinking. "Stop thinking." Chase mumbled against his neck as he obeyed Brent's arm pulling him in closer. He didn't care about the fact they had both made out with other people not even 24 hours prior. They needed this. Chase needed this.
Slowly, Chase brought his lips up to Brent's face, but didn't kiss his lips right away. Instead he started with his forehead, planting a soft kiss. He trailed down with kisses and stopped when he kissed the top of Brent's nose. "I love you, that's all I care about." Chase said before finally bringing their lips together. Chase didn't know if he could handle not kissing Brent right then. Mistakes were mistakes and they were over with.
