Alex barely slept last night, he was too excited about having a friend over to keep still. He ended up sleeping though half-way through a manga of Pandora Hearts. He woke the next morning drooling all over page forty-three. Wiping his mouth, the young boy tore downstairs to find his parents already awake. He didn't even have to say anything.
"Well? Go get ready." His father told him in English. Alex grinned and shot upstairs to throw some clothes on. When he came downstairs, his dad frowned at his choice of trousers. "Son..." Was all he said with a shake of his head. If those trousers got any tighter, Alex was going to cut off his own circulation. But it was too early to argue.
Munching marmalade on toast in their muggle car, Alex looked excitedly about for Chase's house. He honestly couldn't wait. He hadn't had a friend over since... well, ages. He had a couple of friends from his old private school but they were all snooty and not fun to be with. Chase seemed fun though. Alex practically swallowed his last piece of toast whole when they finally pulled up at his friend's house. The young boy jumped from the car and trotted up to the front door and gave the bell a ring. His mum and dad followed suit but not with the same pep their son had. The coffee had yet to kick in.

Chase was excited about this. He was going to get out of his house for a while, and his dad wouldn't be able to stop him. He was in the clear. Alex had replied to his letter fast last night, and Chase was more excited than anything. He had never stayed at a friends house before.
He had packed a bag last night with his moms help. She kept smiling and sitting on the bed. Chase loved his mother more than anything in the world, especially right now when Chase knew his mother would get penalized for this. Well... Chase would too when he got back home.
He had made sure to pack up his drum set and throw in a few extra drum sticks even though he had never broke one yet. One could never be too sure. When the door bell finally rang, Chase jumped up and ran to go get it. Hoping it wouldn't wake up his drunken dad. "Jay!" Chase practically yelled when he saw it was him. "Good morning Mr. and Mrs. Torres." Chase said with a polite smile toward them.
Soon Chase's mother was behind him and sticking her hand out to greet Alex's mom and dad. "You must be Alexanders parents. I'm Chase's mom. His dad is sleeping. He was working late. Thank you for letting Chase come spend the night. He hasn't been able to stop talking about the new friend he made at Hogwarts."
[/b] Chase let his mom talk while he grabbed Alex's forearm and dragged him back into his room. "My drum set is this way. I packed it all away so it'd be easier to carry. It's a five piece. Not a three like most kids have." Chase beamed and took him into his room. [/blockquote]

Alex grinned on seeing Chase welcome him at the door. This was going to be awesome. He could already feel it. He managed a polite hello to Chase's mum before being dragged inside to, Alex presumed, his friend's room to help carry the drum set to the muggle car, leaving the adults to finish their introductions. "That is cool!" Alex said on seeing the packed drums, he bent over and picked up part of the drum set to help carry it to the car. Yeah, maybe he shouldn't of put on such tight pants, he hooked his finger in the belt loop and wriggled about, tugging them up with a blush. "We can pass these to my parents. They take them to the car and we get the rest."
Alex tottered over to where his parents stood shaking Chase's mum's hand and introducing themselves. They seemed to get along well. His dad began carrying the pieces they brought to the car and Alex's mum, well, did what most mums do: chatter.
"Hola Pepito!" Alex grinned, picking his Little Owl up that sat snoozing on the windowsill to Chase's room. He'd obviously crashed there the night. Poor feathered thing had been on more letter errands than usual. Alex perched him on his shoulder (like an awesome pirate) and continued helping with moving the drum set.
Soon all the parts were safely placed in the boot and Alex was clambering into the car - taking care with his pants again. He blamed his mum. She told him that he could buy them last time they had gone shopping. Maybe she didn't actually think he would buy and then wear them. But she didn't seem to mind either. His dad minded a bit though. Alex wasn't too sure why. They were just trousers.
"Ready to go, Chase?" Alex called from the car, flinching under a glare fired from his mum. Zoe was still asleep in her car chair. She didn't do mornings. And last night she had been up whining until who-knew-what-time so it was best to let her sleep a little more or fear the wrath of the grisly baby. "Your house... is it nice. Big. You get to see my house now. But we have to be being quiet. Zoe is sleepy."

Chase quickly helped Alex with his drums as they handed them off to his father as their mums talked. Chase thought he could hear his dad starting to stir, and was grateful that he would be out of here in no time. Chase knew his mom would probably try lying at first, and then get found out before her husband would beat her. Chase didn't know what either of them did to deserve this.
Chase held back a laugh when he saw how tight Alex's pants were. It was kind of amusing. Chase's jeans weren't tight, but they weren't lose. They fit him perfectly, he thought. When Alex got in his car and so did his parents, Chase stopped to kiss his mothers cheek. "Love you, mom." He gave her one last smile which she returned immediately. That was why Chase was proud to be a Gryffindor. His mother was showing the Gryffindor bravery.
"My house isn't that big... or great or anything." Chase said immediately as he got in the car with Alex and the sleeping baby. "And alright. I can be quiet. I'm good at that." Chase told him with a smile. He was. All the times he and his mother would hide in the back of the closet hoping to God his dad wouldn't find him. "I can't wait to jam with you, Jay. It's going to be awesome." Chase smiled at his friend next to him.

Alex waved goodbye to Chase's mum from the car before snapping his seatbelt on. He then turned to his friend with a huge smile. Oh wow, he was bringing a friend home with him. They were going to play music, eat unhealthy snacks, stay up late and just have an awesome time like that. Alex couldn't help but wonder if Chase liked comics as much as he did.
"My house is a bit smaller. But our actual house is in Spain. We sometimes go in summer but... dad is working lots. We might not this time." Alex said with a small shrug as the car pulled away and onto the road. Usually he would mind missing out on going back to his country but this year was different. He had a friend that wanted to come to his house. "I can't wait to jam too. This is going to be fun."
The ride home went back pretty quick. His dad had pulled up sat a random store so his mum could buy frozen pizzas and fizzy drinks for the boys to snack on later on. For one day that Alex ate pizza nothing bad was going to happen to him. It wasn't everyday he had friends over.
"Bienvenido a mi casa, Chase." Alex grinned, tugging him inside after his parents said that they'd bring the drum set in. The young boy bounded up the stairs, tackling them two by two, one hand on Chase and the other hand on his trousers. "Here is my room. I sleep here. I have two beds, you can have one. It is better than the floor, yes?"
Alex climbed up a couple of rungs of the ladder and bent over to gather the comics strewn over the bed. Alex tended to sleep on the bottom bed, which was bigger, and leave the top bed to read comics on, draw and play his gameboy.
"You can be the top." Alex glanced backwards at his friend while he leaned over, tidying the comics into a pile, smiling. "Okay?"

Chase buckled up like Alex when they got in the car. He was safe at last. Even if it was only for a day. It was better than nothing, that was for sure. Chase blushed when Alex's mom went and stopped at a store just to get them stuff. Chase wasn't used to that. He didn't get pop often and only got to eat whatever meal his mother made that night. Normally hiding in his room from his dad.
Chase followed Alex excitedly as they got to his house. He said something in Spanish that he wasn't entirely sure what meant but thought it was somewhere along the lines of welcome to my house. Chase should go freshen up on his Spanish a bit.
His head snapped when he heard Alex say something. "W-what?" Chase stuttered out, confused. Alex wasn't gay... was he? Why would he be for one and why would Chase even be thinking about that. Then when he realized what he had meant. He could have facepalmed. "Oh right... the beds. The top works perfectly." Chase said, shaking his head at himself.

Alex looked down at Chase with a hint of puzzlement on his face, confused as to why his new friend had started stuttering all of a sudden. Had Alex said something wrong... then it dawned on him what he might of hinted at. Alex began to giggle and climbed down the ladder, arms filled with comics. "You have a dirty mind, Chase." Alex said with an amused smile while he stashed the books away in the bottom of his wardrobe. "But that's okay. I won't tell." But now he was thinking. Why would Chase know about tops and bottoms? Alex just shook his head with that same, little smile and bounded over to the door on hearing a knock. It was his dad with the drums.
"Gracias, papi." Alex chirruped, helping the older man move Chase's instrument into his room. He then got his wand out and Alex clapped his hands. He said that his little sister wasn't feeling too well so he was going to cast a charm so to keep the noise in just this room. Alex rarely got to see magic performed in his house as his family had tried to embrace as much of muggle life as possible. It wasn't like they were muggleborns or anything, Alex's bloodline was actually pure-ish, a couple of halfbloods and muggles dotted down his dad's line whereas his mum's was as pure as you could get in these times.
His dad cast the silencing charm on the room and then told Alex that he was going to work but that his mum was going too, but with the baby for a check-up. They'd be a couple of hours tops and that Alex should refrain from raiding the fridge. There was pizza if they wanted.
This distraction made Alex forget about Chase's stumble and the young boy crouched down by the drums with a face that suggested he'd just been given an unsolvable puzzle. Maybe... it would be best if he didn't touch. Alex hadn't the faintest idea how to set all this up. He just looked back over his shoulder at his friend with a cutesy smile.
"I have no idea." Alex confessed. "You put this together and then we can jam? First time you telling me about jam, I thought about marmalade. I'm crazy."

Chase was blushing madly when Alex noticed his comment and commented back about it. Chase had come to turns about his sexuality a year or two ago. He had always known it. He was attracted to guys. He didn't know if he should tell Alex that right now or not. He was about to spend the night at the dudes house. He might not like Chase being into guys. Chase didn't think he could handle going home early.
Chase mumbled thanks when Alex's dad brought in his drum set and then cast a spell so no one would hear him. Chase's mom had done that to his room when his father had been out and made it so he wouldn't be able to see his drums. If he did see them, Chase was sure he wouldn't be able to keep them.
After his dad left, Chase watched with amusement as Alex was by the different pieces and waited to see if he knew what to do. Chase just smiled when he admitted he didn't. "You thought about marmalade?" Chase said with a laugh as he went over and started unpacking all the drums. He grabbed the bag with all the connectors and symbol stands. and starting putting together his drum kit. It took him a bit to get it all together and set up but once he did, he went and grabbed his drumsticks out of the bag he brought and grabbed his Alex's chair from his desk.
Pulling the chair up, Chase let a smile form on his lips before smirked up at Alex. "Like Fall Out Boy?" Chase asked him before he started the drum opening of Thanks for the Memories by the band in question. He closed his eyes and remembered how he taught himself to play it. A smile on his face as he banged on his drums.

Alex just watched Chase set the drums up, trying to see how he did it for future reference. Maybe next time he could help or something and not just stand there looking completely lost. That was if there was even a next time. There was still the gnawing worry that Chase would find him weird or something and not like him but be too embarrassed to say anything.
"Like Fall Out Boy?" Marry me right now? Alex's face lit up immediately. He loved Fall Out Boy. Hearing the boy start to play a song he definitely recognized, he jumped up and down a couple of times, grinning, giggling and clapping his hands. A bit overexcited? Possibly. But you had to admit that this was pretty fucking awesome.
Alex reached under his bed for his guitar case, getting out his guitar (a Fender Std. Telecaster, click) and a cable. He quickly flipped on an amplifier he had in the corner after plugging himself in. He didn't have any pedals or anything like so. Just a decent amplifier with a distortion switch, a cable and his guitar. His parents hadn't bought him anything more just in case playing this instrument wasn't his thing.
Alex was a little bit stiff at the start - he hadn't ever played with anyone accompanying him on drums. It was very different. But after a bit, he began to relax and fell into Chase's playing with ease. The young boy even sang some (with his terrible accent) only to fall about laughing at himself straight after. He probably sounded terrible in English. He caught Chase's eye and winked. This was great. Even if it didn't sound as good as the real thing. It was something. And the start of something great.

This was awesome. Chase couldn't stop smiling as he played the drums and Alex eventually chimed in with the guitar. He was glad Alex knew the guitar part of the song. Otherwise he would have just been a drum solo. Not that Chase would object to that, but he didn't think it would be too good to just simply show off to Alex. Or... maybe that sounded pretty cool to Chase.
Chase tried not to laugh at Alex as he sang some random lyrics. He wasn't bad, singing wise, but the accent he had while he sang was kind of hilarious. Chase would sing if he wasn't tone deaf. Plus he was still at the point where he had to focus on what he was playing and couldn't sing at the same time. "This is why we need to get Brent over sometime," Chase said as the song ended. "His voice is amazing." Chase gushed, trying not to let the blush on his cheek show.
"But you're really good on the guitar, Jay." Chase told him, smiling widely.

Alex looked away to the window when Chase said that he played the guitar well. He really wasn't used to people actually complimenting how he played. So Alex had blushed. Just a little blush. It probably wasn't even that noticable, or so Alex hoped.
"You play good, too." Alex beamed, fumbling with his guitar strap and needlessly adjusting it. He just didn't want to look Chase directly in the eye. Darn these nerves. "And yes, it would be nice if Brent came to play too. My English is terrible singing... I murder songs. Lots. Hurts."
Alex gave a half-hearted shrug and turned for a bottle of water on his desk. He took a sip and offered it to Chase. He really wished that someday his accent would miraculously vanish. Maybe then he wouldn't be teased, feel embarassed for talking and actually be able to sing well and not so stupidly. Right now he felt that even five year olds could sing better than him. Oh well.
"We can play a couple more songs and then we can go get food, yes?" Alex stole a glance at the clock on his bedside table. It would be time for lunch soon. "You know this one right? My Chemical Romance?" And with that he burst into the intro of I'm Not Okay (I Promise). "Doesn't they make you wanna dance?" Alex shouted with a a giggle over the guitar.

Chase honestly didn't think Alex was that bad with his singing, it was just the accent that made him sound funny. Nothing to terrible though. Chase agreed with the few more songs then food statement, he was getting pretty hungry, but music always came before hunger. Chase took the water bottle Alex offered and took a drink before giving it back. He started playing with Alex as he started My Chemical Romance, thinking to himself: I could get used to this.
-music playing skippy-
Chase was grinning like a madman when they finished their God knows what song. So it ended up being a bit longer than a couple more songs. Chase wasn't going to complain or anything. He loved music, and the more Alex played with him, the more Chase realized he was actually really good on the guitar. "Wait till I tell Brent how good you are, he'll freak. He hasn't even heard me play my drums. I with there was a way for me to play at Hogwarts." Chase told him with a slight frown before setting the drumsticks on the snare drum in the middle and standing up.

Alex wasn't sure exactly how long they had been playing but by the time he strummed his final note, his shoulder was crying out to him. He had never played stood up for quite so long before. Usually Alex would sit by his laptop, hunched over the guitar, peering at music sheets through thick-rimmed glasses. This was a nice, yet tiring, change. He was mildly proud of himself for managing such a feat.
"This was good! Very good!" Alex gushed, slipping the guitar off and propping it against a set of drawers. "Fun, so very fun. I never have played with anyone like this. You are very good, Chase. I hope Brent thinks the same too." The young boy rolled his shirt up a few inches and blew through puffed out cheeks. As the day had inched past noon, the temperature had stealthily been climbing too. Alex felt uncomfortably sticky in his tight shirt and even tighter pants. Changing into something more loose and summery would probably be something more than just a good idea.
"I am so very tired." Alex said with a theatrical sigh, throwing himself dramatically onto the bed to rest his aching legs for a moment. "In Spain now would be when we'd have a siesta, a little nap." And yes, a nap sounded awesome right about now. But then so did the idea of food and a nice, cold drink. Alex shivered. Yes. A nice, cold drink. Maybe they'd get lucky and there'd be ice lollies in the freezer.
"Is there not a music room in Hogwarts? Where the choir goes?" Alex inquired, rolling onto his front and holding himself up by his elbows whilst looking at his new friend, shirt rolled up because it was just too hot to fucking wear clothes. Prancing about in his underwear would probably spook his guest though. That was not how he was taught how to make friends. "Maybe you ask if they have drums? And you can use them, yes?"
Alex went to heave himself back up to a stand but flumped backwards with a whine. Not quite ready to get to a stand just yet. "You hungry? I am very much hungry. And thirsty." He said airily, prodding his growling stomach.

Chase was sweating horribly. It took a lot to drum, and it was incredibly hot outside. It was probably a bad idea to wear a long sleeve shirt today, Chase wasn't really thinking. He rolled his sleeves up in an attempt to make it cooler. He was sure he'd cool off eventually.
"Music is hard work." Chase laughed as he watched Alex on the bed. He was amusing. The little Spaniard. "I never thought about the music room having drums, honestly. I'll talk to Brent and see if they have them in there, or if they can get some. If not... I'm figuring out how to conjure a drum set." Chase laughed as he watched Alex try to get up, which only made him laugh even harder.
"Sure, food sounds awesome. But a drink sounds even better." Chase said as he licked his salty, dry lips.

Alex watched as Chase flicked his tongue along his lips. He bet they tasted slick with salt. The boy felt kinda bad for finding it hot but he couldn't help himself. Alex just flashed Chase a smile and pushed himself up to his feet without making a show of it this time.
"If you're feeling hot, you should can just take your shirt off or algo así." Alex said in a nonchalant manner as he rolled his shoulders. "Like me right now." He said with a tired sigh, stripping off his shirt and tossing it in the corner. Alex practically passed most of the time in his house shirtless anyway. Having the air conditioning on cost too much muggle money but Alex had no complaints. Chase probably wouldn't mind.
"Let get drinks. I'm thinking we have frozen pops.... frozen pops, no? Ice on sticks?" Alex shrugged. Close enough. He took Chase by his wrist and half-dragged, half-guided his friend out of the stuffy room and down the stairs to the kitchen.
Once there he got out two large glasses, threw some ice cubes into them and poured fizzy pop into them. Alex handed Chase his with a grin and turned the oven on to warm it up to pop a pizza in there. "I am so thirsty. I don't like to talk big of me but... we sounded good before, don't you think?"
