harsh on him. Maybe he'd realise that he was being a bad brother. Or maybe their relationship would continue being as bad as it was now. Tommy didn't know.[/ul]

where he'd put it - he just couldn't remember where that was. The loss of his wand hadn't done wonders for Brent's already foul mood. This was a bad day for him. A very bad day. He pushed a chair up to a shelf which was a pretty useless shelf for a wandless wizard of Brent's height. After climbing on top of the chair and checking the shelf to see if he'd left his wand there, (Brent had sworn to himself that he was going to check everywhere for that damn thing. And by everywhere, he meant everywhere.) Brent jumped as he heard a voice outside the door. He soon recognised it to be Tommy's and let out a groan of frustration. The visit he'd demanded of Tommy earlier had completely slipped his mind. "Yeah, shut the door behind you." he called out as he gave the shelf one last check over; lifting up a pile of books to see if there was anything behind them. Which, surprise surprise, there wasn't.[/ul]

. "I'd appreciate it if you didn't break my door during the process." he muttered grumpily, more to himself than his younger brother. Tommy really needed to learn how to be less hyperactive... though Brent could consider what a challenge that would be for a sugar-obsessed eleven year old boy with ADHD. "As a matter of fact, I am." Brent answered before giving up on the shelf, letting out a sigh of relief. That was it now. He couldn't think of any other possible places for his wand to be hiding. Maybe Tommy would know? He highly doubted it but, hey, it was worth a shot. "Listen, Tommy, you haven't seen my wand anywhere, have you?" Brent questioned the first year desperately.[/ul]

Brent wasn't going to risk that happening. Brent was confused as to why Tommy was laughing at him, he just couldn't figure it out. He was about to demand that Tommy told him what it was exactly that he found so amusing then frowned a little when Tommy stopped laughing and revealed that Brent's wand was, in fact, in his pocket. Brent checked and, sure enough, Tommy was right. He couldn't stop the smile tugging upwards on his lips and soon ended up laughing along with his brother. "Thanks. But I knew that already, y'know. It was... a trick question... or something." he smirked before bursting out in laughter again.[/ul]

something to say, why could you just say it? "Just... what?" Tommy asked, jabbing his brother in the ribs with his index finger to prove that he wasn't going to be happy if he didn't get an answer. When Brent tried to tell him that he already knew his wand was in his pocket, Tommy only laughed harder. There had been practically no conviction in his voice and he'd failed to keep a straight face too. Which was kind of weird. Tommy hadn't really seen Brent actually laugh at something before, he was usually quite serious which Tommy hated. "Okay, I believe you." the first year grinned cheekily, the look on his face suggesting otherwise.[/ul]

just do it to your friends if you wanna prove a point." Brent could obviously see through Tommy's lie. He didn't think he even knew anybody stupid enough to believe him in the first place - even Tommy, which was saying something. "Um, there was a reason you were a here in the first place, wasn't there? ... Oh, Hogsmeade." he suddenly remembered, fixing Tommy was a firm glare, "There's a reason second and first years aren't allowed on Hogsmeade visits, want to know what it is? It's to ensure your safety. And a boy of your age too... Tommy, it was a stupid idea, admit it.[/ul]

look around." Tommy was unhappy with unfairness of all of this and his next words left his mouth before he could fully process what he was saying. "I thought you didn't care about me anyway."[/ul]

. He didn't have ADHD and used to go around blabbing on about dinosaurs and sugar though, thankfully and Clayton's curly hair of course. "You were not safe. You're not old enough to be trusted okay? It's like not being able to use magic out of school until you become of age, it's for your protection. Now don't argue, okay?" he told Tommy with the hint of a smile still on his face but it was mostly covered up by his stern 'you will listen to me because I'm older, wiser and a fucking professor' look. "What?" he gasped, shock soon taking over his features. Of course Brent cared. Tommy was his brother. No, no, no. He so hadn't just thought that. "I don't. I have to care because you're my student and it's my job to make sure no one comes to any harm." he snapped finally, any traces of friendliness now disappearing completely.[/ul]
