Elizabeth sat quietly in the Library, studying for Ancient Runes. While she was studying, she was taking notes for future reference and writing essays that didn't have to be done for a week. It's better to be prepared than to procrastinate, right? She got stuck half-way down a scroll and decided that she needed another book to help further along her essay. Elizabeth was looking in a section when she found what she needed and turned around to go back to her table. When she turned around, however, she ran right into somebody and was knocked on her arse. "Umph. Ow." Elizabeth was still on the ground when she started rubbing the pain in her ass. "That is probably going to bruise. Oh, and that really smarts." She looked up to see who she ran into. The girl seemed very familiar with her brown hair and her Gryffindor robes. "Oh, hi, girl up there. You seem familiar. You were on the pitch yesterday with Phoenix, Mack, and I, right? You're Rayne!"

Rayne hated studying. She didn't understand why her essays couldn't just get done without her doing anything. Apparently that didn't work that way. Stupid homework. She had been procrastinating everything till the last minute, of course, and had now decided to do an essay due first period tomorrow. She really shouldn't do this. She had been spending a lot of time with Phoenix lately, and hadn't had much time for her homework. She supposed she could have asked him for help. He was a Ravenclaw after all. He had to be smart.
Rayne had been walking toward the book shelf, where she saw one girl looking for something. She looked a bit familiar but didn't actually see her face at first. When she had gone to pass behind her, the girl had turned around and ran right into her. Rayne covered her mouth with her hands. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to... I didn't know you were going to turn around!" She said rather loudly, earning a shush from the librarian. Rayne just rolled her eyes back at her. She would live with a little noise. She looked at the girl, and recognized her from yesterday.
"Uh... Yeah. That was me. Me and Pheonix are kind of... together?" Rayne told her with a small smile. Unsure why she told her they were together when she didn't know that girl. "I only know Mack through him. Met him for this first time yesterday. Phoenix talks about him a lot." She explained with a smile before sticking her hand out to help the girl up to her feet.

Elizabeth laughed. Merlin, this girl has a very sharp wit. I have a feeling that we are going to get along very well, even though that I don't get along well with people in general. But, this is probably because I don't really like people in general. Oh, wow, that fall probably didn't do me very good. I am rambling in my head. Not good, not good at all. And now she is looking at me even more weirdly since I am not answering her question. Shit. Merlin. Bollocks.
Elizabeth finally answered, "Well, I am a sixth-year Ravenclaw, same as Mack or Phoenix, so I knew of them. But, I didn't know them until Mack and I were in the Common Room together and I started freaking out. He comforted me and we ended up talking for ages. The next day, since I never played Quidditch, Mack took me out on the Pitch to play with him and Phoenix. And, then I saw you with Phoenix. They both are really nice." Elizabeth paused. "Just so you don't think I am some kind of creep, I know about you because me and Phoenix were talking about you. He couldn't stop raving about this wonderful, awesome, beautiful girl that he has been hanging out with, and I didn't have the heart to tell him, 'Enough already! We get it. She is the best person to ever be born on the planet!' It would be like kicking a puppy." Elizabeth laughed. "So, do you need help with anything? I was just getting ahead on work, so I can help you if you need it."

Now it kind of made more sense. She was a sixth year claw. So naturally she would know Phoenix and Mack both. It was still a bit odd she knew it was her that Phoenix had been talking about, but she wasn't going to question it further. "Oh, you played quidditch with Nyxie?" Rayne smiled at her. Trying to think of what Phoenix might have told her.
"Yeah. Uh. Me and Phoenix have been hanging out a lot lately." Rayne smiled at the memories. "We met in detention." She smiled even more, remembering how the first time they met, they had been polishing the trophies. Then after the lake incident... meeting in detention again. It was like a fairy tale. To her at least.
"I'm a sixth year Gryffindor. If you didn't know that already." Rayne smiled brilliantly at her. "And uh. I don't think so. I've just procrastinated a few things... I should be able to do it if I actually research and stuff. I have a defense essay due tomorrow morning. And McKinney isn't the nicest of teachers." Rayne chuckled, remembering when Phoenix and her had seen McKinney smile at them.

Elizabeth thought that it was cute that Rayne called Phoenix Nyxie. From what she had seen of Phoenix and Rayne, she thought that they would be a really cute couple together. If they weren't together now, Elizabeth had a feeling that they were going to be in the not so distant future.
"Yes. Phoenix was the one that I actually played Quidditch with. Mack and Phoenix showed me the basics, and then when we decided to start a game, me and Phoenix were the only ones that wanted to play. On the other hand, Mack thought it would be funny to fly at me as fast as he could and try to scare me." Elizabeth laughed at the memory. "He was being so stupid, but it was so funny the look of concentration on his face. It was a close game, but Phoenix won."
Elizabeth looked down and grumbled, "Stupid boys with their stupid brooms and balls." She looked up after that. "Haha, their balls. Not like that. Sorry. I have a very dirty mind, just in case you haven't figured it out yet." Elizabeth paused. "Oh, I also ramble a lot. Sorry ahead of time. Yeah, you and Phoenix seem like you would be really cute together. And, that is so random and cute that you met in detention. It seems like something that would happen to you. No offense. And you are right about McKinney. He can be a right arse sometimes."

Rayne chuckled at Elizabeth. It was still a little weird to her that she just kind of asked if she knew her own boyfriend, but she supposed it was a small school. Considering the three of them were in the same house and year, it wasn't too weird. She thought. Maybe a bit still. Who knows.
"Yeah. That sounds like Mack. Phoenix has talked about him, of course. What with them being best friends and all, but I've never met him, like I said before. I think Phoenix wants me to soon, and of course, I can't say no to him." Rayne smiled at the girl that she had just met.
Rayne snorted. "I think I just have." She laughed at her. "But it doesn't matter much, it's not bad. I have one too when I want to, it just doesn't always show." She had to admit, she hadn't met a girl that made a sexual joke in the first five minutes of them officially meeting.
Rayne wanted to turn her head and hide her blush as Elizabeth said that it seemed like they would make a cute couple. "Uh. Thanks. It took a lot to get to the couple stage, but now that it's there, I couldn't be happier." It was true. Rayne hadn't been this happy in a long time. Not truly happy.
"I think you and Mack would make a cute couple too. I don't think him and Alexandria are as happy as he tries to make people think. You never see them with each other. Literally. I think you might be able to go in and steal his heart. And come on. what girl in this school hasn't dreamt of that." Rayne laughed and winked at Elizabeth. It was clear by how she had started the conversation off with asking her if she knew Mack, that Elizabeth must have some kind of feelings for Mack.

Elizabeth was happy that Rayne wasn't put off by her weird personality. She was picked on when she was younger because she didn't act like everyone else. That was the main reason that she really didn't try to socialize once she came to Hogwarts. She didn't want to put her true-self out there only for her to be put down by everyone. The events of the last couple of days changed her mind, however. It was kind of unsettling and relieving to actually act like herself around others; unsettling because people actually weren't making fun of her, and relieving because it was talking to people wasn't as bad as she thought it would be. "Yeah, I don't think that I could say no to Phoenix either. Like I said earlier, I just imagine a puppy when I look at him. Saying 'no' to him would basically equate to kicking the poor puppy in the ribs. I don't think I could allow a puppy to get kicked," Elizabeth laughed. "And you'll like Mack. He is the first person in a long time that I have felt truly comfortable around. He is so nice, and sweet, and funny. And even though you have a boyfriend, he is so hot." Elizabeth could tell that Rayne got a little embarrassed when she said that her and Phoenix would make a cute couple, but she just couldn't help herself. She had a hard time keeping her thoughts inside of her head when people really got her talking. "And I couldn't be happier for you two. Now that I have met both of you, I can tell that you guys are going to have a great relationship." It was Elizabeth's turn to blush when Rayne started going on about Mack and her. "I don't know the details about their relationship, but Mack is with Alexandria for a reason, right? I mean, he wouldn't be with her just to be with her. There has to be a side to her that other people don't see, even though she is just a bitch to me. And, I'm kind of known as the 'nobody' of the school. I'd rather not be known as the 'home-wrecker nobody' of the school." Elizabeth got quiet for a second. "And, yeah, of course I've dreamed about him. Many times. But, I don't want to break up a relationship if they are happy together." ooc: /Hides head in shame/ Sorry about the long wait, Destiny. But I tried to make it up to you with over 400 words. [/i][/b]

Rayne laughed at her. "Kicking puppies is like... one of the deadly sins for sure." This girl was so weird, that it made Rayne laugh. She didn't mind the weirdness, actually. It was funny and the girl was nice enough that the weirdness didn't really matter.
"I hope I like Mack. I think it'd be awkward if I didn't like my boyfriends best friend." Rayne laughed. She didn't even want to think about that. It would be horrible. "And yeah. I don't think there is a girl in this school that won't admit Mackenzie is cute. But he's not my type." Rayne laughed. "But clearly he's yours." She winked at Elizabeth. She would have to talk to Phoenix about hooking them up.
Rayne took a deep breath when she listened to what Elizabeth said. "Yeah. I get what you mean... but sometimes if you want something. If you truly want something. Then you shouldn't care about what anyone else thinks." Rayne meant what she said. If Elizabeth didn't want to chase Mack because of Dria, then she'd talk to Phoenix about working around that.

Elizabeth blushed and awkwardly giggled. "I like to think that I don't really have a type. I would date anyone who is nice. It just happens that people don't really want to date me. I'm "too weird" and people don't want to hang out me, let alone date me. I've gotten used to it over the years, so the last couple of days have been surprising." Elizabeth gave a meaningful look in the direction of Rayne.
Elizabeth started to get a little uncomfortable talking about her and Mack's "relationship." But, the can of worms, metaphorically, had already been opened, so she just decided to buck up and continue. She took a deep breath and said, "A relationship with Mack, if it was possible, would be amazing. Spectacular. A dream come true. It is something that I really, really want. But, I don't think that I could submit myself to another round of hate if I just outright steal him from Alexandria. Ever since day one, first year, I have gotten flak for being who I am. The Slytherins, and even some people from the other houses, have made my life hell just because I am a muggleborn. A mudblood in their eyes. When people started to see my weird and crazy personality, it just made it that much more worse. To them, I am Loony Lizzie, Crazy, Psycho, Nerd, Loser. I don't want to add home-wrecker or man-stealer to that list. I don't think that I could handle it. I really try to not care what other people think, but when they are on you constantly, it hurts." Elizabeth's eyes started to water. Merlin, what is up with my fucking emotions? Now everyone is going to call me bi-polar.

Rayne laughed. "I used to think that. But then Phoenix came, and I knew at once he was exactly my type." Rayne explained with a smile. The way Phoenix smiles... his love for music. Everything about him was perfect for Rayne. She knew that now.
After listening to Elizabeth talk, and then seeing her eyes start to water, Rayne couldn't take it. She would talk to Phoenix and have him talk to Mack. This girl was crazy about Mack. And Dria obviously wasn't. "Hey. it's okay." Rayne whispered to her. She looked around real quick to make sure no one was watching while Elizabeth was about to cry.
"I would be here with you the entire way. If Mackenzie is what you really want, then you should have him. And I'll be standing there next to you, hexing anyone you tries to call you any name." Rayne was serious. Any friend of Phoenix's, was a friend of hers now. And Rayne always wanted the best for all her friends.

With tears still leaking out of her eyes, Elizabeth gave a little giggle and said, "You are a really good person. You know that, right? I wish I was more like you." She tried desperately to wipe away the tears. "I wish that I had the Gryffindor courage to either kick their arses or just ignore what they say. But, alas, I am not."
Feeling a little more composed, Elizabeth looked straight into Rayne's eyes and said, "Thank you for the confidence boost. Maybe I will have the courage to go after my heart, but I hope that we can continue being friends. But, I think that I need to get out of here before everyone sees me breaking down. My bed seems to be calling me. We have a date for a good crying session." Elizabeth gave a quick hug to the Gryffindor. "It was really nice to meet you," she said before she walked quickly back to the Ravenclaw common room and up to her bed.
