Snack Time for a Raven and Snake [CLOSED]

Andrew ushered her into the Great Hall. He was the nice snake so it wasn't a huge thing to be seen with a Ravenclaw as he entered the Great Hall. "So, Laurinda... What do you do aside from studying? Are you part of the quidditch team?" Andrew asked as he smiled at her.

He searched around, hoping to not see either Blake or Blaze or Tyler. He didn't want to freeze in his spot. "By the way, where do you want to sit?" he asked her again. "I'm sure you won't be comfortable if we sit at the Slytherin table." he added.

He didn't want to make her uneasy so he was trying to be a gentleman. Besides, he had to be nice knowing that sooner or later, he was going to ask for her help again about something. She was better than the librarian.

Andrew simply nodded and gave her a soft smile. "Ravenclaw table it is." he ushered her at the nearest available slot and waited for her to sit down before he did. "Beater? It's that dangerous? i must say I am impressed, Laurinda. I would have never thought you'd be that strong to face those nasty bludgers." he complimented.

He sat across her and smiled again, "I don't really see what's so fun about playing that game when danger is at every turn. Those bludgers don't play nice. They'd hit you no matter who you are or what house you come from." Andrew said thoughtful.

Andrew could already feel a few eyes darting at them from all angles. But he just smiled. It wasn't a secret that Andrew had friends from other houses as well.

[/i]. Not beater. Sorry, my head's a bit in the clouds today." she apologised, her cheeks heating up a little.

Lauri shook her head. "But the fact that it is so dangerous is what makes it fun. Otherwise, well, it would just be a bit dull. Games would probably go on forever if there weren't any injuries." she explained her view on the sport.

She was fully aware of the pairs of eyes darting towards her and Andrew but chose to ignore them.[/color][/ul]

Andrew paused to look at her. "A Keeper? That ought to still be considered dangerous since chasers from the other teams give their best as they throw the quaffel towards you. I can't even begin to imagine how pressuring it is." he said as he sighed.

Then Andrew looked puzzled, "Clouds? How come you feel that way?" he asked her then saw the slight tint on her face. Then he smiled at her, "You really look pretty when you have that blush on your face." he told her. Then turned to look at the table.

"So, what would you like to have, Laurinda?" he asked her as he turned to smile at her again.

Andrew got her plate and started to pile a piece of muffin, a doughnut, a few strawberries and grapes. "Here, since you haven't decided, I'll pick it out for you." he told her with a smile.

"Hmm... Yes, I play Chaser for the team this year. Since it's my last, I tend to make it worth while. Like what I'm doing now. Having a good conversation with a beautiful Ravenclaw woman and a snack while talking." he smiled his angelic smile at her without thinking.

"This is be an interesting year for me now since we might be facing each other on the field. But I'm hoping I won't have to face you. It would be hard for me to throw a quaffel at such an adorable girl such as yourself." he added and took a bite of his apple.

Andrew just smiled at her. "You really look lovely with a scarlet blush, you know. I have been seeing that for a few hours now. I think I won't get tired of looking at it." he told her as he took another bite of his apple.

"Yes well, that's for hard core, no soul quidditch player. I am by far, different and won't subject myself to being that low." he told her. However, I will make sure that my team will win even if its not me who scores the points." he added with a smile.

He wondered whether Tyler or Blake was going to arrive for snack. Laurinda is a wonderful person to talk to but, Andrew wanted to talk to Tyler about something while he wanted to make sure Blake was alright and emotionally stabled now.

[/i]" Lauri echoed in disbelief, "It's just doing what's right for the team! What's the point of playing if you're not going to give it your all?"
As for how Andrew made sure his team won without him having to do any of the scoring... she really didn't know how that worked. Unless he sabotaged the opposing team or something like that... maybe mentally since he didn't seem to be fond of causing people physical damage.[/color][/ul]

Andrew looked away from Lauri. It didn't sound right, what he just said. He placed his apple down. "I'm sorry. That's not what I meant. I will do everything for my team to win, but hurting people will not be one of them. Mentally maybe, but never physical." he told her in a sadden tone.

He should have thought of how she would have reacted before he spoke. If Tyler and Blake didn't come into his mind, he wouldn't have made a mistake. But he did and there was no taking back what he said.

"I'm sorry, Laurinda, if you found my statement wrong and unjustly. However, I assure you that it wasn't bad in anyway." he told her apologetically and looked at her straight in the eyes.

She sighed, rolling her eyes at the same time but a minute smile was tugging the corners of her lips upwards slightly. "Don't worry about it. I just get a bit... defensive over Quidditch related issues. If worse comes to worse and I end up failing my OWLs and NEWTs then I wouldn't mind making a career of it. I'm hoping that I won't fail anything though..."

With the amount of effort Lauri put into her schoolwork, failing her exams would just be a disaster.[/color][/ul]

Andrew smiled at her, "All my years staying here at Hogwarts, I have never heard of a Ravenclaw failing. Ever. And I doubt you'll fail. From what I've seen, you're a very studious student, Laurinda, ever more so that I." he told her.

That was a fact, she studied way more than he did. But then again, that was given because she'd from Ravenclaw and his from Slytherin. Slytherins don't really study but get excellent grades still for some reason. But Andrew knew he was different. He studies and his year knew.

"Don't worry about failing. Between you and me, I think you have the better chance of not failing since its given that no Ravenclaw has ever failed. However, I can't say the same thing for Slytherins." he told her with a smile and took a bite of his apple.

[/i]' And she'd taken that advice for years until her father died and everything started falling apart. There was a small period of time afterwards in which Lauri couldn't bring herself to do much at all but then she knew she'd have to make her parents proud and threw herself in at the deep end with her schoolwork to distract her from the pain she felt.

"Well, uh, thanks. But sometimes I just can't help but worry all of this hard work won't pay off in the end. I'm hoping it will though, everyone keeps telling me that." she mumbled, "I tend to worry a lot over things more than necessary."

She gave Andrew the slightest hint of a smile. "No way, I'm sure you'll do fine.. or you're doing fine... you have your NEWTs about now, don't you?"[/color][/ul]

Andrew simply nodded and sighed. "I wish NEWTs were just as easy as having snacks with you, Laurinda. I probably wouldn't be asking for anything else." he told her as he took a few bites of his apple then smiled at her while he chewed.

"Anyway, let's not talk about studies right now, shall we? Let's talk about something else... Like, what do you like to do aside from quidditch and studying?" he asked her as he looked into her eyes.

Andrew just wanted company since he didn't know where Tyler, Blake, Blaze, or Tommy was at the moment. And there was no way he was going to have a short chat with Rayne.
