Strange Meeting [Tyler]

[Andrew Sebastian Maxwell]

Andrew arrived at his favorite spot by the edge of the lake. He loved going there and just watched the whole day pass before his eyes. Sometimes, he'd read a book and not noticed the day go by until the late afternoon. He smiled and sat on his spot, hoping to finish the book he had been reading for the last few days.

Meeting Rayne earlier had caused him to waste a few minutes of his precious time. She was just a handful. He felt sorry to whoever was going to be in a relationship with her. They will have a handful of that Gryffindor.

And he didn't want to talk to Blake as of the moment. The guy was either confused or just plain stupid to have said what he did when they first met. "Tch... Being gay is a lot harder than people think..." he said out loud. He was trying to let out some steam.

[Tyler Martin]

Tyler had been having an off day so he decided to take a walk down to the lake. He wasn't sure how to explain it but being by the lake was rather soothing. He liked to go down there, sit by the lake and just watch the giant squid play. From there he could also watch the sun go down and enjoy the fresh air.

He walked to a spot he frequented, expecting it to be empty. It seemed he wasn't the only one who liked it because there was another guy there. It wasn't like it was a secret spot or anything, just one of the ones he liked as it had a good view.

He was about to leave and find a different spot when he heard the guy speak, thinking no one was here. What he said intrigued him. He smirked and decided to answer the poor boy. Hopefully he didn't spook him too much. "Don't I know it."

In an instant, Andrew stood up and wiped out his wand and aimed it at the throat of the stranger. His eyes were diluted in shock and fright. "Geez... What is wrong with you Gryffindors today? Popping out of nowhere..." Andrew said and lowered his wand to breathe again.

he turned back to the guy, "I'm sorry for pointing my wand at you... You spoke and answered me without me even knowing you were there." he tucked away his wand and faced the stranger.

"Andrew Sebastian Maxwell, Seventh Year, Slytherin House." he said as he introduced himself and bowed before stretching his hand out to him for a shake.

[Tyler Martin]

Tyler was kind of shocked when the guy pulled his wand on him. He didn't think he spooked him that much. Hell he wasn't even trying to spook him in the first place. "Woah, hi, I didn't mean to spook you. I was just coming down here to relax some and enjoy the nice atmosphere."

Ty sighed and held out a hand. "Again, I'm sorry. I'm Tyler by the way. I'm also a seventh year, but a Gryffindor like you said earlier. I can leave you alone if you'd like. There are several places I like around the lake. I wouldn't mind going to one of them if you'd like to be alone."

"No, it's alright. I don't own this spot really. But as far as I know, this here has the best view of the lake." he said and shook Tyler's hand. "You can stay... Besides, I am quite curious how come you agree with me.. You don't seem like your..." he couldn't continue the question but hoped Tyler understood.

Andrew wasn't too open about himself and his preference when it came to other people who he didn't know. So far, only Blake, Blaze, Professor, McKinney, and his Head of House knew about his preference.

"Besides, being alone with this beautiful scenery is a shame. Please, stay." he said and smiled as he sat back down on the ground.

Ty knew what Andrew meant. He thought that Ty did seem like he was gay. It seemed to Tyler like Andrew wasn't exactly open about his sexuality. If he was, he would have outright said Tyler didn't seem gay instead of skirting around the subject.

"I agree with you because I too am gay. I've never hidden that from those who asked. Hell I've flat out flirted with people here. You however seem more like the closest gay, one who isn't completely comfortable enough with himself. It's okay to be gay you know. It's perfectly legal to marry another man and not really looked down upon in our world."

Ty wasn't sure when exactly he sat down but he turned to the lake and smiled. "I love coming out here. It's so beautiful and you're right, this spot does have the best view."

Andrew was shocked that Tyler was indeed gay. But then he pouted a little, "I'm not a closet gay or whatever you call it. I just don't have too many people to talk too who can understand who I am and why I am the way I am." he explained and looked down at his book.

The only guy Andrew indirectly told about his preference was Blake who was drunk at that time. He sighed in frustration. "I've never flirted with anyone in this place since I couldn't tell who were gay and who were straight. I'm gay and I'm proud of who I am. However, my family doesn't know it yet." he spoke as he closed his book and hugged his knees.

He was being a girl now. Crap. "I'm sure they would still love me but I want them to be proud of me before I tell them." He didn't know why he was explaining himself to Tyler, but it was like a huge burden was lifted off his shoulders.

Tyler sighed. Well he had just gone and screwed that one up. Now it was time to fix it. "Look man, I'm sorry about what I said. I didn't mean to offend you or anything. It was just that you almost seemed scared to say the word gay. Most people I know are only like that if they are still in the closet."

He thought back to when he flirted. Okay so it wasn't the brightest idea he had ever had, but it sure was fun. "I knew the other guy was gay when I flirted with him. I guess it was more of blackmail than anything else. I mean, I really did like the guy, but I finally realized that he would never look at me the same way."

He saw the ball that Andrew had become and felt bad. "I'm sure your family is proud of you. Maybe they would be happier for you than you think." He moved over next to Andrew and put his hand on his shoulder. "You should tell them, they might surprise you."

Andrew turned to look at Tyler. "You seem so sure." he said and sighed again. "You know, I don't understand why people have to look at us differently because of who we choose to be and who we choose to love. Aren't we humans who need love just like any other?" he asked.

he sat straight and laughed a little, "No need to apologize. It's not like you meant it on purpose. You just kind of hit a soft spot." he said and smiled at Tyler.

"You would probably be the third gay person I have met. Though the other two won't caught... But still... To have met some who can understand and of the same age as me is kind nice. Thank you." Andrew smiled a little wider at the lion.

Tyler squeezed Andrew's shoulder. He hoped that the boy would feel comforted. "I wonder the same thing. Just because we like members of our own gender doesn't mean we are any different then they are. Love is love, it doesn't matter whether it's a heterosexual or homosexual relationship."

He smiled. It was nice to have someone to talk is amazing. Tyler didn't really have a lot of friends. He wasn't the most outgoing person in the world. He didn't make friends easily. Hell he probably wouldn't be talking to Andrew now if Andrew had made any comment other than the one he had. Not to mention, the guy was bloody hot!

"There's no need to thank me. I'm just as happy as you are that there is someone I can talk to that gets it."

Andrew smiled and then tried not to freeze under Tyler's touch. He had to admit that Tyler seemed charming and the guy was handsome and attractive. He smiled at his new friend. Andrew held out his hand to Tyler.

"Friends?" he asked with a hopeful smile. Tyler made Andrew feel alright and happy about being himself and just letting go. "Maybe your right about the love thing. We are still people who wants to love and be loved right?" he asked.

"And I want to say thank you. Meeting you, it gave me a new person who I can really talk too. It's not the same with Blaze. She understands me but not really since she's a girl. Blake is... Well, his merely confused and was drunk when he said he would prefer being gay." Andrew told him and laughed.

"This guy, Blake of Ravenclaw, got drunk over Butterbeer. I mean really. He even stole my mug and drank my share." he added and laughed some more.

Tyler smiled and shook Andrew's hand. "Friends." Ty wanted this friendship. It gave him someone who could relate to him where others couldn't. Plus, Ty could count the amount of friends he had on one hand. Andrew added to that which made Ty happy. It didn't hurt that the boy was hot. "Right. Love is love. Just be patient. We all find the one we are meant to be with eventually. It is just up to us on what we do when we meet that person."

Ty didn't let go of Andrew's hand. It felt...right holding it. "There's no need to thank me. If that's the case then I should thank you too. I finally have someone to talk to who gets it. Well, I guess I should say I have someone to talk to period." He realized that he was being really open, which wasn't really him. Whether it was a good thing or bad, he wasn't sure yet.

Andrew wasn't sure how he would take that Tyler was glad to have met him but he was happy as well. "Well, I am happy to have met you too. It is nice to have someone who knows and is like me. It makes talking a bit more lighter and easier." Andrew said with a smile. He liked Tyler.

It was just then that Andrew noticed that Tyler was still holding his hand. But for some reason, Andrew liked it. He didn't want to pull back his hand but he had to since Tyler was in a painful position. Andrew wanted Tyler to sit down so they could at least enjoy the sunset.

"You know, if you let go of my hand and sit down, we can both enjoy the coming sunset." Andrew said with a smile on his face. Yet, Tyler was someone he would like to talk to about almost anything. "So, what do you say? Would you like to watch the sunset with me?" Andrew asked, still smiling.

Tyler decided he loved seeing that smile on Andrew's face. The smile seems to light up his face and made Tyler like him even more.

He frowned a bit when Andrew let go of his hand. He liked holding it. It felt comfortable, right and dare he say it, safe?

He almost didn't hear Andrew's question but he was glad he did. It brought a smile to his face. "Sure, I'll sit and watch the sunset with you." He sat next to Andrew and kind of fidget a bit. He didn't know if it was ok with Andrew to hold his hand again. Ty really wanted to but he didn't want to seem forward or anything. He decided to just put in on the ground next to him. If Andrew wanted to hold it he would grab it, right?

Andrew was glad Tyler agreed to watch the sunset with him. It was his first sunset with someone. And Andrew was glad that he could share something so beautiful with Tyler. He wanted to laugh a little when Tyler was fidgeting as they sat down. But it looked so adorable that Andrew simply smiled.

He didn't want to say it out loud but he liked Tyler holding his hand. It felt warm and right. Andrew noticed that Tyler didn't dare hold his hand again for some reason. It made Andrew frown a little bit then he smiled again. "Pluck up whatever little courage you have and just hold his damn beautiful hand already!" his mind screamed at him.

Andrew took a deep breath and slowly moved his hand to Tyler's. Then, slowly he placed it over Ty;er's hand while still looking at the sunset. Andrew had a smile on his face and was glad that he did something for once in his life that made him happy.
