Rayne and Phoenix walked to the kitchens and asked the house elves to make them some sandwiches, which of course they did without question. Rayne couldn't remember the last time she had been this happy. Her and Phoenix had never agreed on a title for what they were... but they'd talk about that. Wouldn't they? Rayne knew what she wanted. She wanted Phoenix to be her boyfriend.
So after they had gotten their food, they walked down to the lake hand in hand. Just like she wanted it. Just how she loved it. She wanted to stay with Phoenix all night if she could. Too bad they weren't in the same house. That ruined things, but they would make it.
"I promise not to go in the lake and almost drown this time, Nyxie." Rayne giggled as she let go of his hand and sat down on the ground a little ways away from the lake. The stars were going to slowly come out. She loved the stars. She couldn't think of a better way to gaze at them than what she was going to do tonight. Stare at them with Phoenix. "Or run away." She gave him an apologetic look. Still ashamed she had ran away from him.

This was perfect - everyone else was in the Main Hall eating dinner while Rayne and Phoenix wandered, alone, over the Grounds with some sandwiches. It was very simple. But Phoenix wouldn't change it for the world. It was just Rayne and him, how he wanted it to be. Even though he had his fingers entwined with hers it still felt unreal. Only when his upper arm lightly brushed hers did he realize that this was pretty real.
"Those sound like good ideas." Phoenix chuckled quietly, sounding like pleased hum more than anything. "But don't feel bad about bolting on me... I guess I understand, kinda." Well, as much as a guy could understand these things. Alexis, a fellow claw, had given her opinion on what had happened and all that so Phoenix had tried to see this from Rayne's point of view. He had reached the conclusion that maybe it hadn't of been the best idea to launch himself like that. But what was done was done. And they were together now what was all that mattered.
Speaking of together, Phoenix hadn't actually asked Rayne out yet. Maybe now would be a good time to resolve that. Just to make it official. Picking a clear patch of grass, the claw sat himself down with the small, paper bag of sandwiches and flask of pumpkin juice - what was more romantic than a picnic at twilight? In front of the lake and looked down upon by stars? "Rayne..." Phoenix looked over at the lion, a faint smile playing on his lips. "...will you go out with me?"

Rayne smiled sadly at him a bit. "No... I should have stayed and talked to you at least. I shouldn't have ran away. I should have talked to you about what I was thinking." She told him, her sad smile changed to her normal one. "But let's not talk about it. It's in the past now." She didn't want to dwell on that. She wanted to move forward and have fun times with Phoenix. Not ones she regrets.
Rayne's normal smile changed to a brilliant one when she heard what Phoenix had asked. He was just too perfect. She leaned toward him so her face was as close as she could get without actually touching him. "Of course I'll go out with you." She said before leaning forward and closing her eyes. Pressing her lips to his almost as if to seal the deal of their relationship.

Phoenix felt his heart flutter rapidly within the confines of his chest when Rayne accepted. It was accompanied by a rush of adrenaline that coursed his veins like a liquid warmth - this was his first girlfriend. The one that usually means the most and that you tend to look back on with a smile. Phoenix didn't think it was possible to have a better first girlfriend than Rayne. She was beautiful, fun and was herself all the time. Phoenix knew he'd never have to hide anything from her.
The young claw pressed his lips against Rayne's ones. He just about melted into the velvety kiss when the scent of her coffee tresses engulfed his senses. Phoenix didn't know what perfection was exactly but this was definitely the closest he had ever been. Nyxie didn't deepen the kiss but left just enough pressure to feel his lips tingle when he pulled away.
"Has anyone told you how beautiful you are?" Phoenix whispered, scooting closer to Rayne so he could wrap an arm around her shoulders and gently tease his fingers through her hair. "And your eyes... I could just... lose myself in them."
There were so many things Phoenix wanted to tell Rayne. He wanted to drown her in compliments instead of lake water. Because... he just felt like she deserved it. Phoenix smiled at his girlfriend, his lips moist from the previous kiss glistened just the tiniest bit when the moonlight caught them. "We should stargaze like this more often." Even if the only sparkles he was interested in gazing at were in the deep azures of Rayne's eyes.

Rayne was surprised but happy that Phoenix hadn't deepened the kiss. To her, that just made her really think he actually did like her for her. It made her heart melt. The feeling of his lips on hers was the best thing in the world. Something she would never grow tired of. That was for sure.
"No. I don't think anyone has told me that." Rayne said in a whisper. She had flings in the past, but none that were like Phoenix, and none that had called her beautiful. Her voice was still full of affection for her boyfriend. Wow that sounded amazing to think.
Rayne snuggled into Phoenix when he put his arm around her shoulders. Phoenix was such a romantic. How did Rayne become so lucky? "My eyes are nothing compared to your smile. I wish it would never leave your face. It looks so amazing on you." Rayne wrapped her arm around Phoenix's waist tightly.
"I agree. We should stargaze more often." Rayne smiled. "They're so pretty, aren't they? I come out here all the time. It's nice to know that now I have someone to drag with me whenever I want." She giggled. It was a weird, but amazing thought.

Phoenix felt as though he were the happiest teen alive right then. In his arms he held his girlfriend, an actual girl that liked him for him. The thought made his heart swell happily and Nyxie wrapped his arms tighter around Rayne. He never wanted to let her go. They'd have to forcibly wrench her from him. And even then it wouldn't be enough.
The young Claw pulled Rayne down with him on to the grass, his arm under her head to serve as a pillow and his other hand serving as his own. This moment was just perfect. He felt untouchable, as if nothing could possibly ruin this elated feeling that lifted him up into the clouds.
"I really don't think you'll have to drag me down here, Rayski." Phoenix chuckled lightly. He knew that if she asked him to go anywhere, he'd be there within a heartbeat. He was so loved up that he felt as though something in his chest would pop out of the blue. "But yeah... they're pretty... not a scratch on you, though. Or was that too corny?"
Nyxie laughed gently for a moment and turned his head to kiss Rayne on her forehead, between her eyebrows, on the bridge of her nose and then, finally, the tip. "School's going to be out soon but I can apparate to see you. You're going to be tired of seeing me by the time September comes again." Phoenix hoped not. He didn't want this to just be some summer romance.

Rayne loved how Phoenix pulled her closer. She felt safe in his arms. Felt like anything could happen around her and she would be perfectly fine because she had Nyxie holding onto her. Protecting her from whatever could possibly happen that could endanger her. She felt safe.
She went down on the ground with Nyxie, with his arm as her pillow. If she wasn't careful, she would end up falling asleep like this. Being in her boyfriends arms. "Awh. But dragging people is fun. Especially if I would be dragging you." Rayne said with a laugh as she turned her head up a bit to smirk at Phoenix.
"I can apparate too. Between both of us... we'll see each other everyday." Rayne smiled brightly, blushing softly when Phoenix went and kiss her forehead, then lower... and lower, until he kissed the tip of her nose. It was the cutest thing in the entire world. "And I'll never get tired of you, Nyxie." Rayne said as she gently pecked his lips. "Never."

"If that's what you want - to drag me around - fine." Phoenix grinned, chuckling lightly down at her now that she was smirking up at him. "I'll pretend I don't want to go anywhere with you. You want that? A complaining boyfriend? Because I am perfectly capable of that." The young boy brushed her hair gently out of her hair, taking care so not to poke her in the eye or something. Knowing Phoenix he would do something like that. First date-thing with his girlfriend and he prods her in the eye. He kinda wanted to avoid that.
"Yep. Everyday." Phoenix repeated, nuzzling her hair affectionately with his nose. "My parents'll love you. They'll fuss so much. I've never had a girlfriend, see. Mack always had them, but never me. I just... wasn't interested." In girls. The past year he had had his eye on his best friend. But Rayne didn't need to know that. It had been ebbing away gradually over the past month or so as he started to accept that it was useless fawning over him. Mack liked girls. Nothing was ever going to change that. "But don't worry, they'll love you."

"I wouldn't say I want a complaining boyfriend..." Rayne said with a smile, closing her eyes as he moved a strand of her hair out of her face. "I'd say I want a boyfriend that is exactly like you, whatever that entails. Because you're kind of perfect."
Rayne kind of froze when he mentioned his parents. She hadn't thought about that. She would have to meet them... especially if they were going to be seeing each other all the time. That was... scary. "W-what if they don't like me though, Nyxie..." Rayne asked him in a small voice. "I've never had a boyfriend where I had to meet his parents... it was more of a casual relationship. One that always ended badly..." Rayne mumbled in a sort of ramble. That had been one of the reasons she had been scared when Phoenix kissed her. She didn't want it to be another horrible relationship.

Phoenix rolled his eyes affectionately at Rayne. He wasn't perfect, even if she made him out to kinda be it. They were just two, loved up teens, flawed in their own ways, but searching for something that bordered on perfect in this ever-changing world. Phee looked down at Rayne puzzled when he felt her tense up beside him once he talked about parents. He understood where she was coming from though.
"You'll be fine, trust me." Phoenix reassured her. "My parents are cool. I think they'll actually just be relieved that I have a girlfriend." The teen began to blush furiously and smiled awkwardly. "Uh... that just made me sound like a complete loser." He said with a nervous laugh. Great. Just great. First few hours of having a girlfriend and he was already coming off as a dork. So he hadn't had a partner worthy of showing his parents? So fucking what?
"But, seriously now, don't fret. They'll love you, maybe not as much as I do, but they will. And this won't end badly, I promise." The teen gave Rayne a light kiss on her forehead. This was going to work out, he could feel it in his very bones. He'd never felt so close to someone other than family before. "And anyway, you shouldn't think of the end. This is only the beginning."

Rayne smiled and took a deep sigh to try and relax herself. If Phoenix said she was going to be fine meeting his parents, then she would be and she'd be fine with it. "I know you're not a complete loser. And if you were, I'd still be dating you." Rayne told him with a smile. She didn't think she had ever run into anyone as nice as Phoenix was.
"Beginning." Rayne mumbled back. Phoenix was the first boyfriend she'd had that kissed her forehead... that cuddled with her. That made her feel safe. She felt like she could tell him anything she wanted to and he wouldn't judge her. He'd just be there for her. She thought that was what all relationships should feel like.
