Reid was bored at work. It wasn't because he didn't have things to do, he did but it was all boring paperwork and he didn't want to do it. He was really horrible about doing his paperwork, not that he cared.
He instead thought about Alex, as he always did. Tonight however he thought about their relationship and how it was progressing. He had known for a long time that he loved Alex and wanted to spend his life with him. He wasn't sure when but he knew he wanted to propose to his love. He also wasn't sure if he was ready just yet. Maybe he would start looking for a ring now so he had it when the time was right.
It was then he heard a knock on his door. "Come in."

breath, Brent opened Reid's office door whilst attempting not to just lunge at his friend straight away or crack a smile. Instead, he walked in slowly, holding back a laugh. He could never be serious with his best friends, it was just impossible. "Hi... just thought I'd pay you and your beard a visit." he said quietly once he'd shut the door behind himself. Only a second later he had to cough loudly to disguise his laughter. Saying 'just thought I'd pay you and your beard a visit' wasn't helping him not to smile or crack up. Why did things always have to be funnier when you so badly didn't want to laugh. Clearing his throat once he'd finished 'coughing' Brent attempted a small, polite smile that turned into more of a smirk as he held back a snicker. He wasn't going to last long at this at all.[/ul]

Reid smiled as one of his best friends came into his office. Brent was funny. Of course he would mention the beard. Sometimes he wondered what his friends would do if he ever cut the beard. Knowing them they would probably hide all the clippers, razors, and anything else that could be used to trim/shave his beard.
He knew something was up with Brent. His friend was acting...odd, or at least odd for Brent. The fake coughing only confirmed his suspicion.
He gave his friend a look, trying to figure out what exactly was going on. "Alright Brent, what's up? Something is different about you. It's almost like...you have a secret."

Reid sat back in his chair. He knew something was up. Brent was trying way to hard to make him think everything was fine and dandy. Reid only needed to keep bugging him and he knew Brent would spill.
"You are lying through your teeth my friend. Now, you can either tell me or I can floo Chase and get it from him. Either way, your secret won't stay one long." He chuckled. It was fun to mess with Brent sometimes. "Come. Sit. Pick your poison."

and starting a whole family together. Even now, he was struggling to get his head around it all. He took a deep breath. "Okay, okay, I'll tell you." Brent sighed, taking a seat and leaning over Reid's desk towards his friend. "Chase and I, we're getting married! Can you believe it? It's just so... wow! And you, Reidy, you are gonna be my best man, right?"[/ul]

Reid smirked. He wasn't always the nicest of the group. Hell, he had been known to start fights within the band. "Sorry for ruining your fun Brent but it's been a long day. I just want to get through the rest of it and go home to Alex."
He listened as Brent spilled his guts. What he said, wasn't much of a shock. He saw the love those two had. They had their bumps in the road but they could make it through it. "Congratulations Brent." He got stood up, walked around his desk, and gave his friend a hug. "Of course I'll be your best man. I'm guessing that Chase asked Alex to be his?"
He sat on the edge of his desk. He thought about his own relationship. He had been thinking about their future and marriage. He loved Alex, he knew that. But was he ready for marriage? Not completely. Was he ready to show Alex his intentions? Maybe. He wasn't sure but Brent sure got him thinking.
