Alexis was waiting in the corner near Barney's. She had called Chris earlier to meet her there. She wanted to spend the day in New York. Well, she wanted to spend a week there that is. It had been a long time since she was in the Big Apple and everything seemed to have become bigger. She smiled at the thought that Blaze was in Italy with James. Well, at least both of them can have their alone time with their boyfriends.
And speaking of boyfriend, "Where is he?" she asked out loud as she looked around. Chris was already three minutes late. And Alexis didn't like tardiness. |

Chris had the biggest smile on his face. This was probably one of the best days he's had in the past year, well besides getting with Alex that is. He was finally back in NYC, if only for a short time. Alex had told him that she wanted to go on vacation to the big apple for a week. Chris didn't have a problem with that because he missed it a lot. He missed the city, he missed his friends, he also missed his uncle. Speaking of his uncle, maybe they could have dinner with him before they leave.
Chris shook out of his thoughts and looked at his watch. "Crap! I'm late. Alex is going to be pissed." He had left her to go get something for her. He planned on giving it to her later tonight at dinner. He had also gotten her some of her favorite flowers. Realizing he wasnt far away he walked faster to where he was meeting Alex.
He reached her a few minutes later. He gave her a quick kiss. "Sorry I'm late love. I didn't think it would take that long." He smiled at her and handed her the flowers. "These are for you."

Alex was tapping her foot. And just then, Chris came. And with a bunch of flowers. She wanted to get mad but she couldn't. The flowers were beautiful. She eyes him. "If it weren't for the flowers, I probably would have hexed your arse, Christopher." she said as she emphasized his name, making sure he knew she wasn't really all pleased.
She took the flowers and smelled them. It sent a smile on her face. Not only did they look great but they also smelled wonderful. She turned back to him, "So, where are we going first?" she asked him. He better have a plan or Alex was going to be peeved. |

'Yikes! She really isn't happy.' Chris thought to himself. He really hadn't meant to be late. It just kinda happened. Well time for some damage control. "Have I told you today how beautiful you are? If not, shame on me. You are absolutely stunning." He hoped that she knew he actually meant that and wasn't just saying it.
He wrapped his arm around her waist. He had a few things they could do but he wanted to know what she wanted to do. "Well I do actually. Do you want to go to the magical or muggle world? In the magical world we can go to New York's version of Diagon Alley as well as meet a member of my family. In the muggle world we could go to Central Park. It's beautiful and there is a zoo."

Alex sighed and then smiled. Alright, Chris was off the hook for now. But she wouldn't forget this. "Muggle Park please..." was all she said as she gave him a kiss on the cheek. She held the flowers close to her chest and smiled even more.
There were no words to say how happy Alex was now. Chris made her happy. |

*time jump: Later that night*
Chris had his arm around Alex as they walked up to his house. They had had a good day today. The decision to go to Central Park for the day was a great one. They both enjoyed the beauty of the park as well as the fun things they could do in it. They spent several hours at the zoo. Chris bought Alex a stuffed animal as a souvenir of the day.
Now they were heading back to his house where he planned on making a romantic dinner for the two of them. He was thinking a simple spaghetti dish would be nice, especially since he made his homemade sauce before leaving England to bring back with him.
He looked over at her and smiled. "I hope you had a good time love."

Alex smiled and nodded. She had a great day. And she already loved the stuffed animal Chris got for her. She sat on the sofa and took a deep exhale then turned to him.
"Of course I had a great time!! It's been far too long since I'm been to the zoo..." she told him with a huge smile on her face.
"So what are we having for dinner? The whole day out made me hungry.." she said and laid her head on the sofa. |

Chris was glad she enjoyed the day. He wanted her to see why he loved this city so much. He hoped that every day where would be a good one.
Chris ran his fingers through her hair. He loved playing with it. "Well I was thinking that we would have a nice spaghetti dinner out on the back patio. I made some of my amazing homemade red sauce before we made the trip here. My uncle requested that I bring him some if we came to the states.
"You see, everyone in my family loves this sauce. I learned how to make it as a very young kid. It is only of the only things I remember about my mom. She would make this all the time. One time, about three months before the accident, I asked if I could help her. She let me and it was the greatest day ever. I helped her every time after that. When they died I never thought I'd have it again. On the one year anniversary of their deaths, my adoptive mom asked if I wanted to make it as a way to celebrate them. She talked me into it. I'm glad she did. I've been making it again ever since."
Chris gave a small smile. "Sorry about that. I didn't mean to go on a tangent like that. For dinner I'm making spaghetti and some garlic bread. Does that sound ok to you?"

Alex sat up and shook her head. "Spaghetti sounds wonderful, love.. I'll just close my eyes for a few minutes... Wake me up when we're going to eat..." she told him as she closed her eyes for a little while.
She recalled what had happened through out the day and imagined them happening again tomorrow.
Then she was already asleep. |

Chris smiled. She was more tired than he thought. A nap would be good for her. She was right, being out all day was tiring. While he planned on having a nice, relaxing night, there was still more to come. He gave her a light kiss to the head and stood up.
He walked into the kitchen and got everything ready. He took the sauce out of the pantry where he told the elves to put it. It was so much easier for them to bring it here so he didn't have to worry about them breaking. He also grabbed the pasta while he was there. He set it all on the counter before opening the fridge for the butter. The baget for the garlic bread was already on the counter as week as the garlic powder. He quickly set water to boil and preheated the oven.
Within 30 minutes dinner was complete. He made the plates and put the bread in a bowl before taking it outside. He lit some candles in the middle of the table. Nodding to himself that everything was ready, all he needed was their drinks, he went to wake his sleeping beauty.
She looked so adorable when she slept. He really hated that he had to wake her but she needed to eat. He sat next to her and carded his fingers through her hair. "Love, it's time to wake up. Dinner is ready and on the patio."

Alex stirred and slowly opened her eyes. She smiled at Chris as he looked down on her. "how long as I asleep?" she asked him and looked around.
A wind blew in and the smell of spaghetti reached her nose. "Hmmmm.... That smells good..." she smiled and was excited to taste his cooking.
"Help me up?" she asked with a child like smile on her face. She felt like being a child when Chris was around. |

Chris smiled. He could get used to seeing her like this. "You weren't asleep long. If you are still tired after dinner we can go to bed early if you want. If not, I've got a bunch of movies we can watch. You'll find that in this house, like much of the American Wizarding world, there is both muggle and magical stuff."
He held out a hand and pulled her up. Wrapping his arm around her waist he lead her out to the patio. He hoped he liked it. He walked her to her chair where he pulled out her seat. "Here you are, my lady. I didn't know what you wanted to drink so I didn't put anything out yet. We have some great bottles of wine down in the seller. We could have that, or water or soda. Pretty much whatever you would like love."

She wanted to laugh but giggled instead. "Well, i'm no mood for wine... can i have a tall glass of mt.dew with ice instead?" she asked him. She wanted nothing fancy tonight.
"And I think we should head to bed after dinner, love. My eyes are almost falling out from their sockets." she said with a laugh.
Alexis was instead tired but she was happy tired. She spent the whole day with Chris and there was nothing more she could ask for. |

Chris gave Alex a kiss on the head. "Sure thing love. I'll be right back."
He walked into the kitchen and pulled two glasses from the cupboard. He put ice in each from the despenser on the freezer door. Looking in the fridge he quickly found the Mt. Dew. He wasn't sure what he wanted at first but decided on a cup of water as he wasn't in te mood for soda.
He took both glasses outside, set hers in front of her before sitting down in his chair. "I hope you like dinner love. This is the first time I've ever cooked for someone other than family."

"wow... i'm honored then..." she said as she took up her fork and dove into her meal. it looked delicious and she wondered if it tasted delicious as well. It did and she was smiling wider.
"this is wonderful chris!! its great.." she took another bite. Hmmm... it was really good. she wondered if there were anything else he knows. Well she was going to find out soon enough. |
