NATIONALITY:
- Mother-Madison McKinney (née Levine), 54: Brent, as much as he hates to admit it, was definitely a 'Mummy's Boy' in his younger years before he discovered his magical abilities. Then the pair grew apart quite suddenly which secretly did a lot of mental damage to the both of them. Brent became increasingly rebelious during his teenage years, disappointing his mother. She works in a Muggle bank at the moment and lost contact with her son after falling ill almost 10 years ago.
- Father-Clayton McKinney, 56: Clayton was always proud of his son and was pleased with his knowledge which surpassed other people his ages'. But was also envious of the bond Brent and Madison shared. The envy, pleasure and pride all disappeared when his son left for a school of magic. Confusion, bitterness and disappointment were the oonly feelings left towards Brent who, like his wife, he has now lost contact with. Nowadays, he works as a teacher in a university unaware of Brent's recent achievements.
- Wife-Maryn McKinney (née Lovegood), 27: Maryn is the new matron at Hogwarts who's just completed all of her Healer training. With her being a Slytherin and Brent being a Gryffindor, they never got on as school students but because of their constant bickering and argueing, they learned a lot about eachother. After school, they met again in Diagon Alley whilst they were in their very early 20's, they got talking about the 'old days' and kept in touch regularly meeting up. After around a year, they had built up a strong relationship that was quite rocky at first but eventually became more serious as they realised that they were in love and got married a few years later when they were both 26.
- Brother in law-Xenophilius Lovegood: Brent gets along reasonably well with his new brother. They often have a good laugh together and there in no bitterness at all in their friendship.
- Nephew and neice-Rolf and Luna Scamander (née Lovegood): Brent never really sees these two but has nothing to hold against them so treats them with his usual 'Brent Charm'.
- Not too distant relatives-Lorcan and Lysander Scamander: As with Luna and Rolf, Brent doesn't really know the Scamander Twins well but will attempt to strike up a conversation with them if he spots them around school.
A few years later, a letter arrived in the post, informing Brent that he was a wizard and would be attending a school for magic up in Soctland. The family were shocked when they also recieved a visit from the school's headmistress, who confirmed this news.
Brent was blown away by the amazingness of everything and became quite bigheaded as a result because he was magical, unlike his parents. He was also sorted into Gryffindor although the Sorting Hat could decide on wether or not he belonged in Slytherin. Brent didn't like the look of the snakes so happily joined the lions.
His parents were happy for him at first but soon realised how empty their house was and swarmed him with gifts and letters, hoping he'd miss them too and come home. At first, he replied but then ignored all of the things his parents sent to him and met a small bunch of Muggle boys during the holidays who he started a band with.
Madison and Clayton tried a different approach that they knew would benefit their son: encouraging him with his education. They tried this after he had passed all of his OWLs. It backfired horribly.
Brent, determind to do the opposite of what his irritating parents wanted him to do, then treated school as a place for him to improve his social life, not his education. He broke the rules an gave up on his learning; consequently not passing a single NEWT. This news caused his already fragile mother to become very ill. Brent realised then what a mess he'd made of his life. He waved goodbye to his parents and decided he was going to make it on his own.
He worked hard for a couple of years, re-taking and passing all of his NEWTs when he was 21 and started a relationship with Maryn Lovegood afterwards. For a while he worked part time at the Ministry as well as sorting out business with his band.
When he was 24, he applied for the post of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts ans was accepted for the job. He did this in order to pay for a possible future wedding and honeymoon.
After getting married, he has just started his third year of teaching and couldn't be happier with the dicision he made almost 10 years ago to turn his life around.[/ul][/font]
