Chris walked along side Alex to the lake. He knew that he was starting to like this girl, but wasn't sure what to do about it. She was nice and sweet and now leading him to a place that no one else knew about. This was slowly becoming the best day Chris has had since coming to Hogwarts.
Though Chris didn't want to break the comfortable silence between them, he wanted to get to know her more. "So, Alex, do you have any siblings?"

She turned to him and smiled softly as she shook her head. "No siblings. I'm an only child. But I do have a cousin here in Hogwarts as well." She didn't want to really ruin the moment by mentioning the littl fact that Blaze is her cousin.
"It can wait..." she thought. "How about you? Any borthers and sisters?" she asked politely. Chris seemed to be a nice guy. Alex was beginning to wonder why Blaze blow him over for saying hi. She was trying to concentrate on him now.
She knew that her last year would be interesting now. And if Blaze found out about Chris, she wondered how her cousin would feel. That she, Gabriella Alexis Knightly, a Ravenclaw, would be dating a Gryffindor.
Then she stopped herself. "Dating? I'm just comforting him. And being nice since his new. This doesn't count as a date... What am I thinking?" her mind yelled at her.

Chris smiled and softly chuckled. "It seems we have more and more in common. I'm an only child as well. My parents were trying for another child when they died and my adoptive parents can't have any children. It's nice though. I'm really close with them. What about you? Are you close to your parents? What about your cousin, are you close to them?"
"I can't believe how much we have in common!" he thought. Chris couldn't help but realize how much he liked spending time with her. She was so... indescribable. He could see himself dating someone like her.
"Wait, did I just say date her?" Chris stopped to think about this for a minute. "I guess I did. The thing is, I could see it happening. I would love to date someone like her."

"Well..." she walked to the edge of the lake to pick up a flat stone and skipped it across the surface. "The only cousin I haveis like my sister. We grew up together when her mother and two brothers died... I can't blame her if she is who she is now..." she sighed.
Alex stopped for a moment to think if it would be wise to tell him about Blaze's history. "Well, he doesn't know who my cousin is and Blaze is a lousy legilimens... Besides, I won't tell himeverything.Just a few things." Alex thought.
Then she smiled at the thought that this new guy and her have so many things in common, Alex felt like she must be dreaming. "No one meets a guy like him everyday..." shetold herself. "So, how about you?" she asked him, returning the smile on her face.

"What about me? I don't have any cousins, it's just me." Chris watched as she skipped rocks across the lake. She looked so peaceful.
"It must be cool to be so close to your cousin. There are times were I wish that I had a sibling but now, I don't think I could deal with having a little sister or brother. I've gotten so used to being the only one that my parents care about."
Chris noticed that she didn't say anything about her parents. "Does she not get along with her parents? Should I ask the question again or just leave it." Chris thought about it for a moment and decided to just let it drop. "It won't do me any good to upset her."

"My parents... Are busy helping my cousin with her life mission. I am helping her as well... It's just that... My mother's will is aligned with my cousin's... They think alike too. I'm told that I was more like my cousin's mother..." she told him.
She tried to smile as she turned to face him again, "I don't know how it would feel to be an older sister... But I think it would be nice... To have a little sibling to take care of and have fun with... Someone to fight over during the holiday breaks... and probably have a mock spell war at home..." she said as she tried to imagine.
But the only thing that came up was the image of Chirs and her dancing by the moonlight near the lake. She tried to casually shook her head as if she was doing something with her hair. "What in Rowena Ravenclaw's name am I thinking?" she asked herself.

"That's kind of sad Alex." He walked over to her as she was still standing by the lake. "It seems like there is no one there for just you. You deserve someone who concentrates on just you, not your cousin."
Chris reached her and pulled her close. He didn't know why he was doing this, but he just felt like it was the right thing to do at the moment. He placed his hands on her hips and looked down into her beautiful brown eyes. He leaned down and placed a feather light kiss on her lips.
He pulled back and stared into her eyes. "I'm sorry. I...couldn't help myself."

Alex stared at him before she slapped him. She quickly ran back to the castle, not knowing why she felt mad and cheated. He took it.Her first kiss. The very thing she was saving for the special one she would love.
She was confused and hurt. Ande very furious. "How could he? Who was he to kiss me? He barely knew anything about me! I should seen this coming! A New Yorker indeed!" she told herself. He was going to pay for what he did, that much she knew.
And there was only one person who could help her in her revenge, her very cousin, Blaze Livington. And she knew where to find her.

"Damn it!" Chris yelled. "Why did I have to do that! Why did I have to be a fucking bastard and do something so stupid! I just messed up the only person who has even talked to me. Great move Chris, great fucking move."
Chris was furious at himself. Things had been going so good and then BAM he just had to go and screw it up. He had a feeling that he was going to be the butt end of some horrible prank and/or curse.
He sighed and sat by the edge of the lake. "There's no way to fix this. I guess I'll just sit here and hope that whatever she does to me that I'll be able to try to make things up to her."

Mack wasn't sure why he had decided to go down to the lake. Maybe it was because it was gorgeous out, maybe it was the fact that he had already finished his homework for the night and his friends had been annoying him. He didn't really know, but he knew that his legs had taken him to the lake.
On his way out there, however, he saw a girl in his house but a year above him; she was running full speed toward the castle. Confused, Mackenzie continued walking soon seeing a guy standing by the lake. Looking quite pissed actually. Mack didn't know whether to stay and see if he was alright, or turn slowly and go back into the castle.
It seemed as if he didn't have a choice however, because the guy turned and saw him.

Chris had been sitting by the lake for a while when he heard someone walking towards the lake. He turned towards the castle, hoping that Alex had come back to the lake. He really wanted to try to apologize for his stupidity.
Luck wasn't on his side today as it wasn't Alex that was walking towards the lake, but a guy. "Hopefully he won't be yelling at me or something."
Chris got up and turned towards the new person. "Hi."

Mackenzie stood there in shock as the guy got up and turned towards him. Greeting him in the process. He really didn't know what to do. The guy was clearly upset about something and looked on the verge of a break down. Mack didn't know whether to ignore that fact or say something about it. He chose the latter.
"Dude, you okay? You don't look right." Mack said it in a confused tone, then decided to add, "Sorry, maybe that was pushy. You don't have to tell me." Mack felt the air get really awkward and decided to add one more thing. "Sorry. I'll just leave now, I guess."
Mackenzie sort of made an awkward movement toward the castle but didn't start walking. Part of him really wanted to know what was wrong, and the other didn't know if it was safe to leave this dude alone. He can't be too bad if he said hi... could he? He wasn't a Slytherin... it looked like he was a Gryffindor by his robes. Mack wondered what he was doing out by the lake at this time.
Curse his Ravenclaw mind, always asking questions...

"No, you don't have to leave. I...I'm not ok to be quite honest. I think I just moved too fast on this girl, one of your housemates to be exact, and I think she may be coming after me." Chris sighed. "I can't believe I'm spilling my guts to this guy. Ugh!!"
"I don't mean to bother you with my problems. I've just not had a good day." Chris sighed again. "I'm sorry, I've been horribly rude. My name is Chris, Chris Sutton. I'm a seventh year." Chris stuck his hand out, hoping the guy would shake it.

Mack looked at the hand and hesitated before shaking it. He didn't understand why Chris had just told him everything. If it were Mack, he would never tell a person he just met anything. Hell. He would barely tell his best friend anything. Mack mentally shook his head and spoke to Chris.
"Yikes, man. Than sounds horrible. You sure she's coming back after you? Maybe she was just a tad upset?"
Mackenzie was always horrible with giving advice but always tried to help the best he could. He was going to wait for a reply when he forgot he never told Chris his own name.
"Oh, and my names Mackenzie, but most call me Mack, or Kenzie. I'm a Sixth Year."

"Nice to meet you Mack. She was more than a tad upset. She slapped me and yelled that I would regret it. She had that look on her face that made me believe that I wasn't getting out of this one unscathed."
Chris sighed and turned back towards the lake. "Why do I have to screw things up? Alex is so cool and I just went and fucked it up." Chris looked over the lake. He saw the Giant Squid swimming below the surface. "Why am I going on about this? I shouldn't care."
"I need to stop acting like such a girl." Chris mumbled to himself. He turned back to Mack and said, "I think I'm going to head back to the castle as it's getting kind of late. See you around." With that, Chris walked back towards the castle.
