Just the Perfect Place...

Alex and Blaze walked fast and were now stepping into the courtyard. Alex's eyes were still wide in shock. "Me? I'm going to do that?" she asked with uncertainty. But then, just a few seconds later, Alex smirk. "Be glad to." she said.

And Blaze was right. She did get away for a lot of evil things when they were younger. She planned and executed, Blaze merely joined in the fun. But she ended up with the blame while she (Alex) smiled in one corner, trying to hold her laughter in.

"Well, I think I know why I was placed in Ravenclaw. And I am not sorted in the wrong house, cousin. I may be Slytherin by blood, but Slytherins usually get caught doing the bad deed. Ravenclaw's have done much more wrongs yet you don't see us being punished now, do you." Alex smirked wider.

She was truly a Slytherin by blood. That fact she did not deny . In fact, she embraced it whole-heartedly.

Blaze knew her cousin would do it. She just knew that beneath that Ravenclaw mask, lies a Slytherin waiting to attack and bite. "Very well cousin. We shall now look for that lion that did you wrong. He will be sorry that he crossed the wrong set of people." she said.

Blaze wanted to protect Alex since they were like sisters. Though they may seem opposites, they had so much things in common that many people don't know about. And because of that, Blaze had sworn that they will protect and help each other forever. And she would never go back on her word.

Not when she remembered how her own brothers have protected her. She can protect Alex instead. And so far, she had been doing a good job too.

Chris walked towards the castle, not really paying much attention to the world around him, something he seems to be doing a lot lately. At the moment he just wanted to get to the Common Room where he could be by himself for a while. "Not like anyone will talk to me there anyways." he said to himself.

He didn't know why but for some reason he looked up as he reached the courtyard. "Shit!" he said quietly. He quickly got behind the nearest pillar hoping that he wasn't seen. "Why did they have to be there? Wait," he looked cautiously around the pillar at the duo across the courtyard. "Why are they together? They aren't from the same House, why would they be talking to one another?"

The moment Mack saw Blaise with her cousin, Alex. He knew that it had been Alex that he had moved too fast with. And that could not be a good thing. Blaise was one of the most feared Slytherins. There was no way this would end very well.

Mack didn't even think Chris knew what was going on. He was a transfer student, he might not have realized that they were cousins. Mack, however, knew. He also knew that it could never be a good thing that they were together like this, especially under these circumstances.

Mack continued to keep his safe distance behind Chris. This time he drew his wand from his robes in order to be prepared. A few spells were crossing his mind in preparation. This was one thing he loved about being a Ravenclaw. His mind was always ready.

Chris thought he felt someone behind him so he turned around. There, a short ways away from him was Mack. "He must have followed me from the lake. Well this is good, maybe he'll know how to get around them or something."

As quietly as he could he called over to Mack. "Mack. I thought you were staying by the lake?" Chris saw that Mack's wand was out and asked, "Why do you have your wand out? You know what, it doesn't matter. You remember that girl that I talked about earlier? The one that I pissed off? Yeah well she's right over there and she has the bitchy Slytherin I ran into earlier with her."

Mack was caught red handed, and was called over to Chris immediately. He didn't look mad at the fact that Mack was following him. So maybe that was a good sign. When Chris spoke, however. Mack wanted to stop him right then and there. He didn't know.

"Dude, That bitchy Slytherin is her cousin! Blaise and Alex are cousins! They are practically sisters though. They do everything together. It was a surprise they weren't sorted into the same house. Alex can be just as cruel as Blaise, but Alex knows how to act nice."

Mack explained the situation to Chris, hoping that when he did things would click in his head. Blaise was who Alex went to get for back up. They were there to come get Chris. Mack tightened his grip on his wand, and directed an order to Chris.

"Get out your wand, and be ready."

Chris wasn't sure what to expect, but he was going to take Mack's advice. He took his wand out of his pocket and gripped it tight.

"So that's the cousin Alex was talking about? She said that she and her cousin were as close as sisters and were always there for one another. Shit! Well, that's it, I think I'm doomed. Have you faced these two before? Or have you just heard about them from gossip around the school?"

Chris had no idea what he had gotten himself into when he messed things up with Alex. He just hoped that he was able to get out of this without too much damage.

[Mackenzie Stone]

Mack saw the panic cross Chris' face and was glad he finally seemed to get it. They were in danger.

"No, I've never faced them before. But I've seem them attack before. They know a lot of spells that we wouldn't even dream of knowing."

Mack was glad Chris listened to him and took out his wand. The more prepared they were the better chance they had at surviving. If only a teacher would show up to help them... but the chances of one coming out here at this time was slim to none. Mack's brain started thinking strategies.

"Alright, I know you have a thing for Alex, but you need to focus on trying to get her out of the fight. Which means you need to be able to stun her. I don't know exactly what spells they're gonna use, but use protegro to defend yourself instead of trying to dodge it all the time. Dodging can get messy and dangerous. Don't send anything lethal, or we'll be the ones that will get in trouble. Just stand your ground and fight to make it through this. Preferably not in the Hospital Wing."

Mack really didn't know where what he was saying was coming from, as he was never in a real duel before. Yet everything he said, he knew it was true. It was their only hope, after all.

Blaze saw the lion Alex had mention by the corner of her eye. She turned to her cousin and smiled. "Let me fix that hair of yours now. He is by the pillar, far out back. And he is with a 'claw as well. I don't know why nor do I give a damn about it." Blaze began.

She fixed Alex's hair and her eyebrows. "Now remember, smile and keep your cool. I'll be on the second floor and watch you from there. And if anything happens, we both know that you can perform non-verbal spells easily." Blaze told her. She smirked at Alex.

"I never thought I'd see the day that I'll be giving you instructions on how to play the good and innocent girl role. We both know you already live like that." she added and giggled. She pushed Alex softly towards Chris' direction and turned to enter the castle once again.

"Good luck." she called out with a sweet voice. Only Alex knew how sugar coated their voices were.

Chris nodded at Mack's statement and turned back to the girls, trying to stay hidden behind the pillar. He could see that the Slytherin girl, Blaze he thinks her name was, was facing her cousin. From the angle and distance he was at, he couldn't tell what exactly they were saying but he doubted it was anything good.

He saw Blaze enter the castle and that Alex was walking his direction. "Well this is it" he said to himself. "This is the moment of truth. I just hope that she isn't as storm as Mack says she is and that I can take her down easily."

Alex smiled and nodded at Blaze and walked calmly to where Chris was. She had one of her best shy smiles on and hoped she would pull it off. As she got closer she saw that Mackenzie Stone was with him. And for some reason, she had this gut feeling that Stone had told him about her and Blaze.

"But then again, it won't do much for Sutton. He'll be in the palm of my hands in a short while." she thought to herself, resisting the urge to smirk as she was in close range with the two guys. She held her head on a shy level point and looked straight at Chris who seemed to have his wand out.

"I was right, Stone had told him something after all." she thought again. She waved shyly and stopped a few feet away from them. "Chris, may I have a word with you in private please?" she asked in a soft and sweet voice. The voice no guy has ever resisted and Chris won't certainly be the first.

Adding her shy smile to her voice, she knew Chris wouldn't resist her.

Chris was bewildered. "Uh...you want to talk to me privately?" Chris had no idea what was going on. He wasn't sure what to expect before Alex walked over here, but this sure as hell wasn't it. He wasn't sure what to do but he knew he had two options.

Option #1: He went along with whatever Alex's plan was and hoped to God it wasn't a trick. "Though, from what Mack said and what I know of Slytherin's, it could definitely be a trick."

Option #2: He stood his ground and hoped for the best. The only problem with this option was that he risked the chance of fixing things with Alex.

He thought both his options over and came to a decision. "Ok. Lead the way." he said, though he didn't put away his wand.

Alex smiled a little wider as she turned to walk a few yards away from Stone with Chris behind her. She knew he wouldn't let his wand down, thanks mostly to Stone for ratting out his co-house member. She stopped and turned to face Chris.

"I know that what happened earlier was something you didn't do on purpose and that how I reacted was too childish. I thought of avenging but then again, I won't get anything put of it..." she began.

"I guess Stone has told you about me and Blaze.... That's another thing I wanted to apologize for. I'm sorry I didn't tell you that I'm Blaze's cousin. I knew that you might burst out on me if I told you... And I want to apologize for the slap that I gave you earlier."

Her voice was sweet and innocent. "Not even Chris can tell the lie that was beneath it. No one ever has (except for Blaze) and no one will ever will." she thought. She will have Chris in her palms in a few more moments.

"To make things short, I want us to start over again. Let's forget what had happen at the lake. Just think that it was a nightmare and it never happened." she told him and smiled sweetly.

Chris couldn't believe his ears. "She wanted to just forget everything and start over? No, this couldn't be. There has to be something else, right? I mean, she can't just be royally pissed at me one moment and wanting to forget it all the next. Damn...why do girls have to be so confusing!"

"You want to start over? You slapped me across the face and.." He cut himself off before he said anymore. "Look, I accept your apology for earlier, and want to apologize myself. I was stupid earlier and shouldn't have kissed you. I was just feeling it and let my feelings take over.

"I want to start over but I'm still not sure I can trust that you aren't going to do something horrible to me in the future."

For some reason, Alex knew she had to do a bit more to gain his trust. So, she smiled and gave him a hug. "I'm sincerely sorry. It was just because you took my first kiss away and I didn't know how to react." she said then pulled away slowly.

"I know it will be hard for you to trust me again, now that you know that Blaze is my cousin and whatever Stone has told you... But I just want another chance to be a friend. For the last seven years, its been just me and Blaze. And I don't want my last year to be like the last six..." she faded and smiled shyly.

"Not now... That I have a chance to gain a new friend... And a guy too... Look, you don't have to answer me now. Think it over. Then when your ready, come find me." she said as she gave him a kiss on the cheek. She then turned around and walked back to the castle. This time she was smirking.

"Your mine now..." she thought. And she knew that Chris was now on the palm of her hand.
