Chase made his way out to the grounds of Hogwarts for a private lesson one of his students had asked him to have. He normally didn't hold private lessons for anyone. Not even if they were failing his class, but this particular student was highly advanced in Care of Magical Creatures and absolutely adored all animals. Chase could tell that he had a passion for this field and was more than willing to help him in anything.
So Chase had agreed to meet him, he was going to teach him a little bit more dangerous creatures, and more advanced creatures. Ones the classes didn't even get to, even in the N.E.W.T. level. Chase knew that Tyler especially loved anything that had to do with dragons, so Chase brought one of his books about dragons to give him for some reading. He would bring a real dragon for learning if he could. But that was highly dangerous.
When Chase reached the Gorunds he couldn't find Tyler and figured that he must be running late or something. So he just simply waited there, knowing that he would be there soon.

Tyler quickly made his way to the grounds, hoping that he wasn't late to his lesson. He had been a little nervous when he had asked Professor Jackson for some private lessons. He knew that his professor didn't usually have private lessons anymore, but he had hoped that since he had such a passion for magical creatures that he could get the lessons. Luck was on his side as his professor said yes.
Tyler had ulterior motives for asking for the lessons. Tyler had a huge crush on his professor, had since his fourth year. He was hoping that these lessons would get him closer to his crush. He hoped that he would be able to snag Chase Jackson for himself.
He ran out the doors and onto the grounds, looking for Professor Jackson. When he spotted him not far ahead, he stopped and watched the man for a second. "I want him so much. I hope that he will have me." He walked over to his teacher and said, "Hello sir. Sorry that I'm late."

Chase turned around quickly when he heard Tyler's voice. He gave him a big smile as to assure him that Chase wasn't mad what so ever. He understood when people were running late, as he had done so on many occasions before. Tyler probably just lost track of the time.
"No worries, Tyler! You're here now." Chase smiled again. He was in a good mood today, he didn't know why. Maybe it was because he was looking forward to this lesson as well. He got to teach about the animals that he normally couldn't teach about in his classes. It was exciting to Chase, and he knew Tyler was excited about it as well.
Chase knew that Tyler had a passion for creatures ever since his third year at Hogwarts when he decided to take Care of Magical Creatures. He was always the one answering the questions, and being the first to volunteer. Chase loved those kinds of students, but he rarely got them in his class. Most students didn't like Care of Magical Creatures class. Barely any continued after O.W.L.'s.
That was one of the only reasons Chase said yes to these private lessons. Because it was students like Tyler that made his job easier. Class went by horribly if there was no one there to answer questions and such.
"Okay, Tyler. What is it that you want to learn about in these Private lessons? I know you like Dragons, and as much as I would love to get one for a lesson, I would get fired. But I have a book to give you if you wish to read it and I can teach you about dragons as much as I can without actually having one." Chase smiled again, he thought that these lessons were going to go well.

Tyler smiled at the smile his professor gave him. He couldn't even describe how happy he was at seeing that smile. Maybe his professor returned his feelings, or at least, was in a place where he could return them. If that smile was anything to go by, Chase Jackson at least liked being around him....or so he hoped.
"It's up to you sir. I am just glad that you agreed to give me these lessons. I want to learn all there is to know about magical creatures. It's so exciting seeing all these animals and how they fit into our world."
Chris smiled back at his professor. "What's your favorite creature sir? What creature gets you all jumpy and excited."

Chase saw Tyler smile at him. He was glad to see that Tyler seemed to be in a good mood as well. Chase always kept his good mood when he was around people that were in a good mood, and that seemed to be scarce now a days.
"It is exciting. It's also exciting to see someone that cares and loves magical creatures just about as much as I do. Most people see them as horrible, dangerous things. But most are just misunderstood." Chase smiled a bit and shook his head. He was sad to say that the love of his life and his best friend were one of those people, but of course he wasn't going to tell Tyler that. No one needed to know that.
"Hmm. Which is my favorite? Probably a Thestral. I'm so fascinated by them. How we can't see them unless we have seen death. It just makes their coolness level so much higher in my books." Chase smiled again as he thought of the thestrals. He wasn't able to see him throughout his Hogwarts years, but after watching his mother die he could. And ever since then they had always been his favorite. No matter what had to happen to his to see them.

"People just don't seem to understand how I can find some creatures interesting. They don't get the majesty of the creatures, especially seeing them in the wild. I love going out and just watching creatures in the wild."
Tyler had told his dad about his love of magical creatures after his third year, when he first realized his love for these creatures. During the short time they had off during the summer, his dad had taken him on vacations where they could not only spend time together, but also look for some of the rarest creatures.
"I love Thestrals too. They are one of the more misunderstood creatures in my opinion. A lot of people think that since you can only see after you've seen death, that they are horrible creatures. I think they are beautiful and amazing."

Chase kind of laughed a bit. He got exactly where Tyler was coming from, he figured any creature lover got what they were talking about. It was sad, but true.
"No one understands a creature lover more than a creature love." Chase laughed at his own statement, but it was more because of how much it was true than how funny it was. All Chase's life he was asked why he loved animals so much. He could never really tell them why either, it wasn't something he could really explain in words.
"They are. No matter how much I've tried to get people to understand how nice thestrals really are, they never believe me. I almost stopped teaching about them in my classes because of the response I got from parents, but I decided that it was too important to teach about." Chase sighed a little bit as he remembered all the letters he always got after he taught about them. It was sad.
"So. How about we start the lesson? First, I have this book about dragons. You can take it if you like. It has a lot of information about dragons in it. I loved the book."

"Thank you sir. I love dragons and want to learn as much about them as possible. I'm thinking of becoming a dragon handler after I graduate at the end of the year. My dad promised to take me to the dragon reserve in Romania over the summer to see dragons face to face. He said it would be part of my graduation present."
Tyler blushed as he realized he had been rambling about dragons. Though it proved that he was comfortable enough around his professor to ramble about his favorite creature, he wasn't sure Professor Jackson wanted to hear it.
"Sorry about that sir. I tend to ramble when I start talking about dragons." He gently took the book from his professor, hoping that the blush on his cheeks wasn't noticed.
"What are we going to discuss first, sir? You haven't really said what you will be teaching."

Chase laughed as Tyler started rambling on about dragons. He was the same way about any kind of creature. Brent always hated it. So did anyone he talked to. He had practiced the art of not rambling about creatures. When he was nervous, however, that was a different story.
"Don't worry about it, Tyler. There's two Creature lovers here, remember. I know what it feels like to ramble. " Chase laughed again. He knew all too well.
"Ah. I suppose I haven't told you what we'll be learning about. Maybe that's because I really don't know myself. You know I don't normally give private lessons to anyone. I don't know what to teach. I figure we'll just go over some things that I don't cover in regular lessons and stuff. Maybe Gryffins, and Grindylows, we'll go into more in depth learning about the creatures we've already learned about in the regular classes. Stuff like that."
Chase smiled again, but inside he was wondering why Tyler was blushing. Sure, he rambled, but that wasn't anything to blush about. Chase mentally shook it off and waited for Tyler to reply.

"I try not to ramble, but I just can't help myself sometimes." He looked at his professor. He liked it when he smiled, really liked it. The smile looked so right on his face. It made him look younger, not that he looks old in the first place, and more carefree.
He turned his attention back to what was said. "No real agenda when it comes to class...alright. That actually sounds like fun. We can just talk about whatever random creature comes to mind unless you have something planned for the day." He smiled, this class was going to be even better than his normal COMC class, which was his favorite class.
"So what's first Professor?"

Chase just smiled in response to Tyler about the rambling. He didn't really know what else to say and it wasn't really of importance. They probably should start the lesson soon but he really didn't know what to start with. Chase rarely ever prepared for any class, and he sure wasn't going to change that for a private lesson with one kid.
"Yep, that's exactly what this is going to be! A whatever we want it to be class just for Magical creatures!" Chase thought that sounded bloody brilliant. He wished he had something like that when he was at Hogwarts. Then maybe he would have done something else rather than be a professor.
"Tyler, when we're in our private lessons, feel free to call me Chase. Professor is so formal." Chase joked a bit and smiled again.
"Okay, so... today. Why don't I just answer any questions you have? Eventually, I'll take you into the Forbidden Forest for a lesson and we can talk about the different creatures that we see while we're in there." Chase didn't like going in the forbidden forest that much, but he would if he had to, and he knew it would be a good learning experience for Tyler.

The lesson that followed one amazing. Though he's only had one so far, Tyler could tell that these lessons were going to be some of his favorite lessons ever! Of course spending any time with Chase would be great in Tyler's opinion, but he really did enjoy the subject. They had spent the time talking a little about dragons and some of the things that Tyler did not know about them. They also spent a short time talking about what Ty wanted to learn first.
The lesson was over and as such, Ty was about to head back inside to possibly get something to eat. He turned to Chase and decided that he was about to ask the one thing that was on his mind.
"Thank was a great lesson Chase. Thank you again for agreeing to give me these lessons. I really appreciate it. Umm..." This was were Ty was starting to get nervous, but he pushed through it. "Well, I was wondering something. Are you and Professor McKinney, well together?" Ty knew that the answer to that question would make or break everything.

The lesson went wonderfully, Tyler was the perfect student. They were just wrapping things up when Tyler asked him a question. A question that made Chase freeze completely. His eyes became wide and he didn't even know what to say. How on Earth did Tyler even know to ask about him and Brent. Let alone why he would even want to know. Chase was getting uncomfortable... but he couldn't just walk away. Then Tyler would think they were, and that wouldn't be good for him or Brent.
"No. We aren't. Where would you get such an idea, and why do you want to know?" Chase didn't want to answer him at all, but knew he should. He told the truth, there wasn't anything to hide. But he didn't know why tyler was asking, and truthfully. It scared him. No student had ever asked him about his personal life before... it was just too weird.

Tyler realized that he had freaked Chase out. That wasn't his intention, he was just horrible when it came to things like this. "Oh, I'm sorry Chase. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. I just...well, I wanted to know because I didn't want to say anything if you were already taken."
Tyler was really nervous now. He really should have thought more about what he was saying before he actually said something. His lesson was just so great that he wasn't thinking clearly.
"I...well I...Ihaveacrushonyou."

Chase didn't know what to say. He had never dealt with a student liking him before. And never did he think it would be a male student. He wasn't an obvious bisexual by any means... and yet somehow Tyler knew he was. This couldn't be good....
"Tyler... I'm flattered. Really I am. But one, how did you even know I swung that way. And two, you're a student and I'm a teacher. It would never work out."
Chase didn't want to tell Tyler no, but he didn't want to tell him yes. It wasn't a good idea for a teacher to even think about a student like that. There was no way that Chase would ever date a student. As it was Chase couldn't think about dating anyone but Brent, even though they weren't even dating. This wasn't right.
