Scorpius took a deep breath, even after four years some people still mocked him, and hated him because of what family he came from, he was willing to do almost anything to get other people to look behind his last name, especially people in his house, that's why he was currently standing there on his lonesome in the corridors off the First Floor feeling like a stood up girl wondering if who he was waiting for would ever come.
Scorpius detested the comparison he made to his current situation but it was the most similar, he resisted the urge to tap his foot on the ground it was past curfew and according to the little number of friends he did have, he tapped very loudly.
So Scorpius waited, and waited, by the time a Professor came patrolling Scorpius was so tired of waiting he almost gave in with their offer to escort him back to the Ravenclaw Tower.
But if Malfoys were known for one thing it was their persistence (if not their ever consistent need to have self-preservation), Scorpius made up in his mind that he would wait for fifteen more minutes, after that he would return to Ravenclaw Tower, there was no sense waiting even more after that.

Mack had been walking aimlessly throughout the corridors. He didn't know why, sometimes he liked to just randomly walk the castle. He never got caught past curfew, he was smart enough to be careful. He was a Ravenclaw after all. He didn't even know where his feet had taken him when he realized he was on the first floor. He continued to walk, thinking that he would just slowly make his way up to the Common Room. There was no point in staying out later. He had already been walking for at least an hour.
He had just fully decided to go back to the Common Room when he saw someone as he turned a corner. Thinking it was a teacher or prefect at first he backed away and got a closer look from afar. As much as he could. He recognized the boy as one from his house, but a year younger. He didn't think it would be any trouble if he decided to go by him. But didn't know whether to risk it or not.
So there he stood, around the corner debating what to do. He could turn around and walk to the other stairs and go the long way to the common room. Or he could just suck it up and walk by the fifth year. It wasn't like someone in his own house would want to deduct points was it? What if he was a teachers pet and would just turn him in for that reason. He hated the fact that he didn't know the person. Normally Mack knows a lot of the people in his house. No matter what year he is.
Mack didn't know what to do, still. Eventually it was too late because the boy turned around and saw him. At least, Mack was pretty sure he saw him. He tried to hide the last second, but wasn't sure. Mack hoped this wouldn't end badly.
