Nadia wasn't skipping along merrily to her honorary Uncle's office like most people would assume most would do on their honorary Uncle's birthday, no Nadia was calmly walking to her honorary Uncle's office...
Not bothering to knock Nadia raced to her rather surprised Uncle and hugged him, now Nadia wasn't much for physical affection but she couldn't help it, it was just so tempting and Nadia wasn't one to resist temptation much.

With a sigh Keith put down the papers he had to grade, owling Nadia had been...enjoyable to say the least, the young girl had more fire in her than Keith thought was possible, but he was still wary of her "wait right there I've got a surprise for you" kind of mood in her letter.
Much to Keith's shock the door to his office burst open and Keith almost bowled over with the impact of Nadia, he was a little bit...confused to say the least, Nadia wasn't one to show affection to people other than her father, but Keith took it in and held on just a little bit longer.
"So, what's the occasion? And don't say my birthday, you've never done this for any other of my birthdays."

Nadia couldn't remember the last time she had hugged someone so hard, her father didn't really like physical affection, he thought it was slightly undignified, and Cormac McLaggen was all about dignity.
The moment didn't last long though, no Keith had to ruin it with his curiosity, they always did say curiosity killed the cat...but then again Keith hated cats.
"I just, is it a crime to want to hug your honorary Uncle for his birthday? And I might've had a revelation between your last birthday and this birthday, you never know Uncle Keith!"

Keith scoffed at Nadia's retort, it was wonder she was sorted into Slytherin, she didn't have a cunning bone in her body, except well maybe when trying to set him up with somebody with the help of Ella and scoring herself...screw that Nadia was probably cunning in a way that nobody really noticed at first.
Either way though Nadia didn't fool Keith one bit with her excuse of a sudden "revelation", he had the urge to say that what she was saying was poppycock but then reminded himself that he was a Professor and supposed to set an example.
"I'll never know? Honestly Nadia..."

Nadia huffed, Uncle Keith always had to ruin the mood, whether intentionally or not, with a sigh Nadia dropped her arms from where she previously crossed them together.
"I lied you know, about people always being attentive in your class, but I do think it's a good idea taking everyone in your class out to Muggle London so we can have hands on approach, I know you usually work from the book although you hate it..." Pausing Nadia fiddled with her hands nervously, not sure what to say next, "Uncle Keith, I never really did ask, if my Dad's family is magical...how is your mother related to my family? If she's a Muggle?"

Keith sighed, the topic of his mother was always one he hated, he abhorred people trying to mention her because he always was at a lack of words at how to respond, he was confused enough about how he felt about his mother he didn't need other people probing in.
Keith couldn't really blame Nadia for her curiosity, she was a growing girl after all and she took after her father more and more as each day passed sadly, Cormac McLaggen made it his personal business to know everything.
"It's plausible that somewhere along the line either your father's family was muggle and one of them was a muggleborn, with that perhaps somewhere along the line one of them with magic got together with a witch or wizard with more magic in them and gradually the magic just flowed by genetics? And maybe my mother was part of the non-magical part of the McLaggen family line? Who knows, you best take it up with your father with things related to the McLaggen family tree..."
With that being water under the bridge Keith felt his stomach growl viciously, it was no surprise, after all he had eaten breakfast just a mere four hours ago.

With all the information swimming in her brain Nadia just nodded along, unable to respond for fear of saying the wrong thing but when Uncle Keith's stomach growled Nadia grinned and let out a short laugh.
"Hungry Uncle Keith? Let's go down to The Great Hall then!"

Keith shook his head, he didn't really feel up to walking all the way to The Great Hall at the time, feeling a headache coming on Keith sat down on his bed suddenly feeling very drowsy, after a few moments Keith patted the mattress and motioned for Nadia to take a seat.
"No, no thank you, I think I may as well summon a house elf for that..." With a sigh Keith yawned, he was feeling tired at eleven o'clock in the morning, but it wasn't that surprising, Keith was more nocturnal, his sleeping schedule wasn't like that of other people.

Nadia shrugged, she herself was feeling very starved, but it wasn't lunch yet and she was supposed to be in a class.
"Sorry Uncle Keith, I think I better dash before Professor Kirke gives me a detention or docks points from Slytherin, bye!"
With a regretful sigh Nadia wished she could've kept her Uncle Keith company for longer, but unfortunately History of Magic was in the way.

Keith buried his head into his hands tired but well enough to teach his next class, when Nadia's words sunk in though Keith groaned, it was just like Nadia to skip a class, shaking his head Keith neatened his bed (messes were things he abhorred) and took off out of his office, making sure that his office was spotless of course.
