She was trying her hardest to stay awake during the class. She found the professor a bit boring as usual. Dominique had to deal with the boys drooling over her good looks. She had to deal with the boring professors. The other girl's that get jealous of her. It felt like a never ending pattern of hatred for her.
She sighed as she opened up her history of magic book. She imagined the ghost coming and teaching, but they were getting a new teacher now. They didn't have the ghost professor it was kind of odd now. She figured she would still be able to catch a few Z's and not have to worry about actually paying attention.
She could easily pass her Owl's for her History of Magic class just by reading the book. That's all she would need to do. She smiled at that thought and just sort of leaned back into her chair. Let the sleep begin.

James scurried along to his classroom with Captain Berry resting on his shoulder and 3 boxes in his arms. He had been picking up a shipment of sugar quills for class thus the boxes and him being a tiny bit late to class. Soon enough, he kicked open his door, as he had no arms available, and put the boxes onto his desk.
"Good afternoon class!! My name is Jaminson Redpaw, aka Professor Redpaw!" James enthusiastically greeted the class "This is my teaching assistant, Captain Berry and my wife, Tania Redpaw!"
James got a picture frame from his desk and showed the picture of his dead wife to the class. He then looked at his classroom happily, proud he was able to put in a few couches and beanbags here and there.
"Now then, close those books and sit down on the floor, on the couch or in one of those beanbags! Wooden chairs are extremely uncomfortable, are they not? Come on, come on! I won't bite you or anything! Once you sit I want you to introduce yourself to me. Starting with... you!" James cheerfully gave out his orders and pointed at Dominique, telling her to start them off.

Dominique was on her way to fall asleep. She didn't however and soon she heard a man's voice enter into the classroom. This was a big surprise. They never had a professor for this class. It was always a ghost teaching it. What a change in the teaching styles.
She glanced at the clock on the wall and stood up rather quickly. She looked around at the other students who seemed to be a bit happier that the class wasn't going to be so bloody boring. She couldn't help but to roll her eyes a little bit at how happy and upbeat the professor was. At least she wasn't falling asleep, or taking some time to draw on her book.
She shot her book and choose a bean bag. It was an oddly shaped thing. She wasn't accustomed to it. She guessed that he wasn't from there, or that he was a full blood. She rolled her eyes as he said it would start with her.
"Well ughh, I'm Dominique Weasley, I'm Fifteen, and I'm a Gryffindor." She said sort of softly. "I'm mostly witch, but I have part Veela in me." She rolled her eyes as the guys sort of stared at her.

"Perfect! That's why you're such a charming young lady." James responded with a grin "But no one will ever be as charming as my own little puppy!"
James was only slightly affected by a Veela's charm as he already had his dear wife. He thought that nothing else could compare to her wonderful beauty.
"Now then, should I be next? I am Jaminson Redpaw, last time I checked I was 36 and I was in the house of Hufflepuff. I'm also muggleborn, through and through! Now, who is next?"
The next few minutes went by quickly and soon it was the end of class.
"My homework for you all is to practice telling me about some of your family history while running around a room!" he yelled to the leaving students "You'll understand next class! Oh yes, Ms. Weasly can you stay behind for a moment please?"

Dominique looked at him, he had a strange way to teach. He was slightly different then the rest of the teachers and he actually made History of Magic a bit more fun. She was about to say something else when the rest of the students went on about there life and introducing each other. She rolled her eyes a bit at the homework but she did get up and try to get her stuff together. Only to be stopped by him asking if she would stay later. Great what the heck did she do? "Okay Professor Redpaw." She told him with a small nod.
She soon watched the rest of the students leave as she turned her attention back to him. "You do know I have another class shortly." She asked him. It was the one thing she didn't want to ever have to worry about. Late, Tardy. Getting in trouble for that. It wasn't like she had the best of the professors. Some of them hated her or they gave her that impression. Did he find out about her note passing. She sighed and just waited.

"Of course I know! I'm sorry for holding you back... I'll escort you to to your next class if you want and blame everything on me holding you back." James gave the student an apologetic smile "I just wanted to know if you found this class enjoyable. But I also want a little help on a project I'm working on. You see, I want this classroom to have flying airplanes so you can pass notes to each other but I don't have much time to make some. Do you think you could make a few or something and I'll enchant them!"
James also wasn't too good at making the paper planes and it took him about 10 minutes to make one! However, he was pretty goodat enchanting them so they could fly around the room and erase messages instantly so they could be reused as many times as they were needed.

Dominique crossed her arms as she looked at her professor. "Fair enough." She said with a nod. She listened to him ask if she found the class enjoyable. "I do not really have an opinion for this class. It is a bit fun, or was today." She said with a sigh. To be honest, History of Magic really was not her thing.
His next question surprised her. He was encouraging students to write notes and send them clear across the room. What teacher in there right mind encouraged that. "Well, I." She paused. "Wait you are saying that it will be fine to write letters inside of the classroom, and you have no problem with letting it happen?" She asked obviously a little confused at the news she had just been given.
She shook her head for a moment. "And you will not yell at us when we do such a thing?" She asked.

"Hmm... I see." James nodded, processing the reply given to him "Do you have any suggestions to make it more appealing to you?"
His goal was to help his students find his class enjoyable and a lot more appealing. There wasn't too much you could do with Histpry of Magic but James always tried to find more.
"Why yes, I am." James replied with a chuckle "Of course I wouldn't yell at you!! I was the one who suggested it so why would I yell at you? so will you help me or not?"
James was amused at Dominique's confusion but got a bit worried when she spoke of yelling at them and whatnot like that. He hated to yell at his students. Or anyone really. He wondered if he would yell at his children however.
"My children..." James' usually cheerful face turned a bit sad as he remembered his long lost children.

Dominique looked at him as she waited for him to continue to question her. "I do not see how you can make History of Magic appealing for anyone." She said sharply. It was the dreaded class that basically none of the students liked. The more you took it, the more boring it got.
"I just wanted to see if this was a test, because Professor you can never tell if someone is telling the truth or not." She said softly. Dominique really wanted to trust him, but she had her own insecurities. Not to mention she had a small crush on her professor. It was wrong for a student to have those feelings.
"I guess so Professor, I can do that." She stated as she watched him. She was surely confused still but she trusted him now.
She looked at him when he said children. "You have children? What happened to your kids?" She asked obviously amazed that the Professor would trust her with some information that was vital to his life apparently.

James decided to let go of the fact that students found it hard to trust their professors. After all, he knewwhat it felt like due to his first year at Hogwarts.
"Yes I do have children. Twins, I might add." James decided to trust the student since she trusted him "I gave them away for adoption when they were just 1 month old. It was a horrible, horrible mistake on my part and I hope to never make such a mistake ever again."
That day was probably one of his worst memories. James hoped that his children were given wonderful parents that loved them. He also hoped that he would see them again one day but what would he do if he got that chance?
"Now, I've taken too much of your time now. Who is your next teacher so that I can explain the mess I've created?" James asked, a bit too stiffly "Pardon me but it's very hard to talk about my children and my dearest, young wife. You have no idea how much trouble we got into for simply dating. But she somehow loved me anyway..."

Dominique glanced at her professor as she leant back against the desk. She assumed that James would not tell her what happened. Usually professors told children that it was none of there business to hush. She figured it had to be the same for him. That he did not want to talk about it.
The professor had twins? She nodded as she listened to him. She heard him say that James had given his children up for adoption. "So you miss them? Do they have magic ability?" She asked wondering if they might.
"It's fine, its not like I wanted to go to Potions anyways." She told him with a shrug. She loved her classes but sometimes even this young gryffindor needed a break. She glanced at her Professor. He really looked like he could need a shoulder to cry on, talk too. "You know we could just go to Hogsmeade and you can finish talking with me, or we could always talk in here over a butterbeer." She told him with a smile.
What was she getting herself into?

"I do miss them and I have no idea if they magical abilities or not. They should though..." James yawned tiredly.
"Stupid jet lag." James thought to himself "Which reminds me, I need to call dad soon. He'll be wondering about me."
James couldn't help but chuckle as the young Gryffindor suggested a date. "A drink would be nice but be mindful young one that I am a much older man and I haven't gotten over my wife."
James pulled up 2 seats and a table then grabbed a bottle of old apple cider. He then got two mugs and a dish from his bag and poured the cider into the containers.
"Please have a sit Ms. Weasley." he motioned to the chair and passed her the mug "Captain shall be joining us as well if you don't mind."
He placed the dish of apple cider in front of him and the weasel sat on his lap and lapped up some of the apple-y goodness.

Dominique just nodded a little bit as she listened to her professor. "So they could be squibs then?" She asked a bit worried. Did they not have all the problems when it came to her life.
She gave him a smile. "I understand professor, I do know that your older then I." She told him with a nod. She knew she should not flirt with her but she was.
She watched as he pulled the items together. She sort of frowned a bit at the apple cider but she nodded a little bit more. She sat down at the table and then took a sip of her drink.
She chuckled at the weasel. "It's fine." She told him with a nod. "I don't mind them at all." She knew that what she was doing was a bit unorthodox for a student. Heck she had a crush, she would lose it soon enough.
