Minna returned to her soon-to-be classroom. She looked around, examining the entire room from the door. It needed to be decorated with her lessons and other materials that her class may be using during the year. "I just hope that the first batch of students that get here wouldn't be a pain in my head." she thought to herself.
She stared the room and began to plot out where everything will be when she brings in all her things. It would be a long year. Like it had been during her time spent there. She never thought she would actually be there and teach. She was never the teacher type. But to her surprise, she was there now.
“And to think that I told everyone that I would never be a teacher. If any of them can see me now, they surely will say that I have eaten my own vow. But then again, whoever thought that I… No Minna, You have every right to be here. It’s a job and it’s a job I can be proud off. My father will one day admit that I can make it on my own. And I know I can.” She told herself with confidence.

Only one of the doors on the floor were open, so Maryn headed for that one. Cautiously, she poked her head around the door, peering inside. She saw Minna and almost sighed in relief. She could barely remember the castle from her years as a Slytherin student so it was nice to see a more than familiar face. "Minna, it's been so long..." she smiled widely at her old friend. Maryn had seen Minna around the castle recently but hadn't yet found the chance to have a proper conversation with her. She hoped that Minna wouldn't be too angry that they had lost contact. Maryn felt guilty about that, she knew that it was mostly her own fault.[/ul]

Minna took her head out of her books and looked up. Her eyes got wide and she wondered if she was seeing things. Maryn was standing by her classroom door. Her old school friend.
"Flames of green and silver! Maryn? Is that really you?" she asked as she stood up."Please come in. What brings you here?" she asked as she slowly made her way down from the teacher's corner. Minna was in shock. The last time she saw her was when they graduated from Hogwarts. Maryn was one of the very few people she trusted when she was a student.
Until the day they left Hogwarts, Minna wondered if Maryn was well. She had been too busy with her Masters and lost contact with everyone from her friends and batchmates.

The news caught Minna by surprise. "You married the Gryffindor? McKinney? Bloody green and silver flames!" she said as she fell back down on one of the seats. She should have noticed the last name. She wanted to suddenly bang her hand on the nearest wall.
Minna turned to look back at Maryn with a confused look. "Well, I think a congratulations is needed, even if it's a bit late... And I have been busy as well. I took up my Master's Degree in Ancient Rhunes and have been travelling... Well... This is awkward..." she stuttered. She never knew that her friend was that into the lion they had argued about when they were younger.

would..." the end of Maryn's last sentence trailed off. "If only there was a cure for insomnia that actually worked properly." There were surely insomniacs who were more effected than her, she knew that. It was still hard though. Maryn dreaded the night and had done since she was a young witch. It always made her feel uneasy and so, so tired. The night tortured her; however much she begged it to let her sleep peacefully, it never gave in to her requests.[/ul]

Minna just had to smile as she noticed how her old friend seemed to be the same one she knew many years ago. Her attempts to change awkward situations into better once still hadn't change. Minna did wonder how she managed to get into Slytherin despite the fact that she was sweet and nice and caring.
"Well, so far it's been fine. Except for that greeting from Blackwood. I could have lived better if he didn't show up at my classroom door all high and mighty with the aura "I've-been-working-here-far-longer-than-you-have-so-show-some-respect-and I'll-just-look-you-up-and-down" kind. And you very well know how much I hate being looked that way." Minna sighed.
"I wonder why the Head Mistress had to make him come and greet me.He obviously didn't like the idea. And he just-- Ugh! He just made me so pissed and all." Minna recalled her meet and greet with the snobby Professor.

Maryn frowned, the name was familiar, she remembered him as being Brent's friend when they were kids. Now though, all Brent did was comlplain about his old friend. "Head of Hufflepuff, isn't he? I wasn't even sure if he even worked here, to be honest. The last time I spoke to him was when we were students." she wondered out loud. Maryn knew she'd probably seen the professor around a few times but couldn't even remember what he looked like. Maryn grimaced. "..Yes. I'm glad that I haven't spoken to him yet then if he's one of those people. Well, I'll have to make sure to turn around and walk in the opposite direction if I see him... or I could just hex him a few times, though I'm not sure that would go down too well." She shrugged, "At least things are going well, apart from Blackwood. There's always at least a couple of complete arses where ever you go..." Like Brent she added inside of her head and almost laughed out loud but thought it would make her look like she was more than just a little mad.[/ul]

Minna growled at the name and walked back to her table to fix the books she had brought with her. "He could be the head of the merfolk guard for all I care. As far as anyone is concern and my sanity, I wish not to see him anytime soon. Because if I do, I might be liable to hex him to the next decade." she snarled.
Though she won't really do it, she said it just to get her anger out into the air and disperse. she then took a deep breath and sighed. "Sorry Maryn. I'm just really a bit touchy about him. He didn't need to be a total ass just because he was asked to come and greet me. I dont even know why he was chosen to do the "greet the new teacher" task." she sopke again, more calmer than a few moments ago.
"I wish it was you who was asked to do it instead. And yes, when you see him, run the opposite way while you still can. There is no telling what else he can say and do if he runs into you and he doesn't recognize you. Better safe than sorry, I always say." she smiled at Maryn.

Minna just had to laugh. "I always did wonder how you manage to get into Slytherin when we were younger. You care too much than a snake should should. And you are humorous, just a lion." she said.
When she regained her composure, "A New topic would be great.... So tell me about How you and McKinney.. Er..Brent met again after school. How did you guys even gotten around to date? And what was your wedding like? You owe me details!" Minna smirked as she went and sat next to Maryn.
"Bloody green and silver flames... It has been ages since we last saw each other. Its been forever since we last had a chat...[smiles] I'm just glad to have you again. At least I won't be alone entire here at Hogwarts... Here were we first met and became friends." Minna spoke softly.
She indeed had missed Maryn. She was the only one who really tried to understand and bear her mood swings and tantrums when they were in school. Maryn indeed was her close and bestest friend anyone could ever have.

Minna chuckled as Maryn called her Minny. That was the nickname Maryn made for her. And she remembered calling Maryn Mary when they were younger. Just to tease her and all.
"It has been long indeed... During your wedding day, I must have been at home, with dear daddy...(laughs) And you know how he is. He would never have allowed me to go anywhere that didn't have anything to do with my education or future job." Minna said.
"At least we can try and catch up now... Let's make the best of everything... This job... Your marriage... And our reunited friendship. I missed a very valuable friend while being away from England. It was never the same without you, Maryn. It never did." Minna smiled at her friend.
SHe recalled her days in college being alone and distant with everyone else. Minna knew that the only reason they wanted to be friends with her was because she was a rich girl and her father had powerful connections.
Recalling her father made Minna frown for a little bit but smile again when she remembered that she was no longer under her father's watchful eye. Yes, she was free to do what she pleased now.
Minna looked happily at Maryn, "Come on. Let's go somewhere fun. Let's not lock ourselves up in this classroom." Minna stood up. "Where should we head on off too? You've been here a few days before I have." she smirked.

..." Maryn sighed, shaking her head sadly and looking at her feet. The guilt was replaced by and overwhelming sense of happiness though. "I know, it's good to be back with you again, just like in the old days.." Maryn was glad that Minna seemed happier now than she was when she younger. She guessed that she had finally escaped from her father and was free to live her life as she pleased. Maryn couldn't help but feel pleased about it, she knew Minna never did get a long well with her father. "Hmmm," Maryn wondered out loud as she got up from her seat. There was nowhere that really stood out as being 'fun' but when she thought about it properly, she managed to think of one particular place, even if it was a little dangerous. She knew how to protect herself though so it surely wouldn't be too much of a problem. "The Forbidden Forest's pretty... fun." she smirked, a twinkle in her eye. Without waiting for Minna to comment on her choice she started making her way out of the classroom before she could convince herself that this was a bad idea.[/ul] (OOC: I'll start a new thread in the forest now.. )
