Minna took a deep breath before she entered her classroom. She knew that she was in for a busy morning. Good thing when she did enter her class, no one was still there.
“Duh, its still six in the morning. Classes begin after eight.” she told herself. This was going to be harder than she thought. She couldn't even remember what time classes would begin. She was that nervous and she knew it.
She sat behind her table and readied the books that she was going to use for her class. She knew that the Slytherin seventh year that Mr. Sutton had a run in with was going to be there with her Ravenclaw cousin. This made her smile. It was going to be an amusing year, watching them.
And there was a Gryffindor in her list as well. The number of students reassured her that she wouldn't really be that stressed as of yet. But she knew that numbers didn't matter. She just had to brace herself for whatever came her way.

As a Hogwarts governor, Draco had discovered that Slytherin and Ravenclaw now had new heads; coincidentally those were the two houses his children belonged to so he wished to pay professors Theoreux and McKinney a visit each. Loudly, he knocked on Theoreux's door. He was impressed that Hogwarts finally had found someone of a worthy enough bloodline to be a head of house. He was already disgusted to discover that McKinney was, in fact, a mudblood. Without waiting for a reply, Draco pushed open the door and entered the classroom. "Good morning, Professor Theoreux. May I ask why you are up at such an early hour." he said smoothly, keeping his voice polite but also slightly cold. After all, he didn't care who this woman was. He was Draco Malfoy, he had authority over her...[/ul]

Minna jumped in surprised. She saw Governor Malfoy. In her classroom. She remembered her manners and curtsied respectfully to the Head of the Malfoy family. Keeping her cool, she looked at him directly and took a deep breath. “Good day, Governor Malfoy. I am up early to check for any last minute adjustments to my lesson for the day. And may I say that it is an honor for me to be in the same room as you are, Sir.” She said politely.
She had heard many stories about Draco Lucius Malfoy from when he was still in Hogwarts as a student up ‘til the present. And the news were right. He did hold his head high as if the Malfoy name was never tarnished to beginning with. Not that Minna didn’t think about her own family. Her own mother died giving birth to her which made her own father blame her for the death of his wife.
Minna had to stop blaming herself. It was never her fault then, it sure wasn’t gonna be green and silver flames her fault now. She turned and smiled politely at the Governor. “What can I do for you Governor Malfoy? Is there something you want to discuss with me? Since you came into my classroom that is.” She said and waited for him to answer.

Minna tried not to twitch when her father was mentioned. Everyone knew that she was never that close to her father. Never had been since she was born. She managed to politely smile despite her discomfort.
“Father is well the last time I saw him. And yes, Governor. They are both in my house. Is there any task you wish me to do regarding them? I may as well tell you that even if they are your children, I shall not given them any special treatment of any sort.” She told him straight forward.
In the back of her mind, there was nothing he could do. She was the head of house and giving special treatment to some students would make her just like her father, ruthless and manipulative. The two characteristic she had been trying not to be since she had taken up the post as Ancient Runes instructor and Head of Slytherin house.
“However, if your children do well, they shall be properly rewarded of course. Not that you do not give them any rewards when they do well back at Malfoy Manor but they shall be rewarded in other ways.” She assured him that her daughters were in perfect hands.

Minna knew that Draco Lucius Malfoy valued their family name better than anyone else. She gave him a reassuring smile. “Of course. It would be my responsibility and obligation to watch the members of my house. You need not worry, Governor Malfoy. Rest assured that they will be treated fairly and well like the rest of the honorable house of Slytherin.” Minna told him with her head held up high.
She was a former member of Slytherin house and it would be a shame to put the name of Salazar Slytherin to shame. Draco Malfoy was said to be a seeker of Slytherin when he was in his student years. “Since we are in the topic of your children, I would like to inquire if any of them play Quidditch. It would be good news to me if they do. They can try out for the Quidditch team when the season is drawing near.” She asked him politely.
Back when she was a student, she was a beater. Strange but it was how she released all her anger and stress about her father. And she was not someone to be taken lightly.

Minna was glad to hear that at least on Malfoy was going to join the Slytherin Quidditch team. She knew that the Governor was the seeker of Slytherin back during his younger years and went head to head with Harry Potter for the snitch during their his second year. However, Minna had heard that Slytherin lost to Gryffindor that year because of him. Draco Malfoy was apparently too buys insulting Potter that he didn’t know that the snitch was hovering close to his left ear.
Minna smirked, “Alexandrai will most likely be a good player, since it runs in her veins, the blood of a quidditch player. However she will have to try out like everyone else from Slytherin who wants a shot to be in the team.” She told him politely as she could. She could not afford to lose to Gryffindor because Alexandria was insulting the members of the other house. History cannot repeat itself. Not if she can stop it.

he was, didn't he? It was always Potter who stole the limelight, Draco hadn't forgotten. He was grateful to the man for saving his life in the Room of Requirement during the Battle of Hogwarts and treated him civilly whenever they met. Inside, he still hated him but he was an adult now, and head of his family, he couldn't afford to show up the Malfoys, not after all of the bad press they so often received.[/ul]

Minna smirked and looked happy at the news the Governor brought her early in the morning. “Well, the captain shall be seeing her in their try-outs soon. I wish her well and so the rest of your family, Governor.” Minna told him.
She turned to the little muggle watch that she had in her wrist and saw that it was almost time for her first class. She was sure that her students were coming and she had not been able to get ready at all, no thanks to the Governor.
“If that is all we have to discuss, I shall have to excuse myself from your honorable presence, Governor Malfoy. I have yet to finish preparing what I need to teach for this morning to the first batch of students that might be on their way here. Thank you so much for taking the time to speak to me and expect that your children will be in the most splendid wing Hogwarts has yet to see, me.”
Minna was confident and she showed it. She had been a product of Slytherin and will not take mistakes and failures lightly. Something that she had been through while she was in her younger years.

All Minna could do was smirk. “McKinney is indeed a foolish man. I did wonder why the Headmistress chose him as the DADA professor. I am much more qualified than he ever will ever be.” She told herself out loud.
She went back to her preparation since she was hearing footsteps outside her classroom. She was wondering how the rest of the year will be if the first few days were already as heated and furious. She just hoped that her first class wouldn’t be as hard as she thought it might be.

Jake walked into the Ancient Runes classroom rather quickly. He hoped to get there first and be able to review the text for a few minutes so he could start the lesson fresh. He saw Professor Theoreux preparing for the lesson.
"Hey Professor," he said being friendly. "Nice to see you again." Although he hadn't had the pleasure of being her student in years previous, he'd seen her around the hallways and she'd always treated him fairly. She was the Head of Slytherin and wasn't like Severus Snape, choosing favourites. Outside of just knowing how she treated students, Jake had heard she was a good teacher and prepared her lesson plans well so he was a bit excited to see what was in store.
Smiling a bit to himself at how nerdy he was, Jake made his way to the right side of the class, more towards the back so he could concentrate more.

Minna nodded at Jacob Abbott. "You must be Mr. Jacob Abbott. Welcome to Ancient Rhune's class. We shall wait for your fellow classmates for a few more minutes before we start. Since today is just the start of the school year, we shall not start our lesson as of yet." She told him straight and emotionless.
She had to draw a line when it came to being nice to students. And she didn't want to be branded like how the Heads of Slytherin house before her had been branded as. "I do not tolerate favoritism here and will not excuse even my own house if they commit mistakes. I will deduct points when I see it fit to be done so and will not hesitate to do so." she added.
She went back to her table, silently glad that Malfoy was no longer there. His visit was a surprise however it did not fazed her at all. She had seen too many things and went thru many trials. Nothing surprises her much now.
