Jake blinked at the professor's cold tone. "Um...okay..." he said slightly confused. He didn't understand why she had bothered to add the last sentence about being fair to her original greeting. "I guess that's good..." he trailed off.
He knew she was a fair teacher but apparently she took the whole Head of Slytherin thing personally. He agreed with that style of teaching, of course. It was good to have a teacher who didn't favor students or discriminate in any way. She could be in Hufflepuff in a way- fair to all but he supposed he shouldn't judge too quickly as there must be something about her which was more Slytherin of her.
Jake looked down and opened up his Runes book. He studied the first chapter silently. This is awkward, he thought to himself as she continued to prepare for the class. He sighed and went back to his work.
