Lily decided to take a walk after breakfast that morning. She had gotten a letter from her dad and always loved reading it alone without people seeing her. She missed her dad more than anything back at home. She missed how close they used to be before she went off to Hogwarts. How they used to ride brooms randomly in the middle of the night. Or how her dad would bring in a bowl of ice cream to her room when she was supposed to be sleeping. it was always their little secret.
So, when she got the letter she made her way up to the Sixth floor corridor. She didn't know why she chose this place, but she had. She had just walked aimlessly until she finished reading the letter and this was where she ended up. She didn't even think she saw a single person on the way up here. Then again, most were still eating breakfast in the Great Hall.
Lily thought she was alone still until she heard footsteps coming around the corner of the corridor. Lily thought about making a break for it and running the other way, but thought that it was pointless. The chance of her knowing the person was slim to none. She didn't really know a lot of people at Hogwarts. She tended to keep to herself. So she just continued to sit there, with the letter in hand.

"Where did my stupid pet run off to?" Belaya asked herself.
Belaya had finished breakfast rather quickly as she didn't eat much and decided to walk around with Glamoura. Everything was pretty normal until Glamoura picked up someone's scent and ran up all the way to the sixth floor, following the unfamiliar scent.
"AWOOOO-grffff!"
Belaya quickly ran towards the howl to find Glamoura harassing a red-headed girl.
"GLAMOURA!! HEEL!!" she yelled angrily at her pet.
Glamoura quickly gave the girl he was bothering an apologetic lick before scampering towards his master. The white wolfdog had his black ears laid flat on his head as he stayed right next to his master.
"Sorry about him. He can get a little overexcited." Belaya apologized to the girl "His name is Glamoura and mine is Belaya. You may call me however you wish."
Belaya had a somewhat refined tone to her voice as she talked to the girl. After all, she was the daughter of an ambassador and still had some refinement in her personality whether she liked it or not.
"Maybe I should put you on a leash and collar next time." she mumbled with a sigh to Glamoura.

Lily heard the footsteps speed rapidly and heard claws against the floors. She didn't know what was happening until the dog came around the corner and began to attack her. She pushed the dog away and tried to at least save the letter from being ripped apart. Lily heard a girls voice yell and the dog backed away. The letter was still in hand. Not touched.
The girl apologized and Lily had a need to tell her to shove off, but didn't. Stupid shyness hits again. She often wanted to do things that she couldn't because she couldn't let herself do it. Like stand up for herself and tell people things that might not sound too nice.
So instead Lily just smiled and forgave her. "Hey, don't worry about it. No harm done."
Lily stood up and dusted herself off with the letter still in her hand. She wouldn't let go of it if her life depended on it.
She stuck out her hand. "I'm Lily. Lily Potter. Nice to meet you, Belaya."
Then, Lily just kind of asked the first thing that came to her mind. Even though she had just met this person.
"I didn't think you could have dogs at Hogwarts? I thought it was only a cat, owl, or toad."
Lily kind of regretted asking after she had. What if it was private? What if she didn't want to tell her? What if it was just a stupid question.
Lily worried to much...

"Well... I don't really know. They kinda just let me have him. Maybe it's because he's a wolfdog or that he had an attachment to me." she shrugged with a thoughtful look on her face "Who knows... "
Belaya, inspecting the girl closely, noticed her clutching a letter like her life depended on it. "That letter must be pretty important to her." she thought to herself.
"Well thanks for forgiving the two of us!" she said happily "It's nice meeting you Lily. Anyway, why are you up here so early? Shouldn't you be still having breakfast?"

"Wolfdog? What the hell was that?" Lily thought to herself before mentally slapping herself and telling herself that she could be a complete idiot sometimes. Why didn't she just ask the girl. She seemed nice enough.
"I've never heard of a wolfdog. Is it a different breed or something?" Lily asked in a sort of shy voice, still not knowing the girl well enough to just ask her full out and be herself about it as well.
Lily thought it was kind of weird to ask someone why they were up this way so early when they were too, but went along with it anyways and replied.
"I had, er. Just gotten a letter from my dad and decided to take a walk and read it. Away from my brothers. They always tend to steal it and then I never fully read it. So I just took a walk instead."
Lily answered her without really thinking about her answer before. Which was weird for Lily, normally she had a well thought out response before the words ever came out of her mouth. Not like this when she didn't even know what she was saying or why she was talking. Maybe she was tired from the long night of homework.
"What about you? Why are you up here so early with that... Wolfdog?" Lily asked her in a weird voice. She had never really liked dogs. They always kind of scared her; and that little attack made her not exactly think dogs were all fuzzy and friendly now. It made her especially scared of this so called wolf dog.
( OOC: Don't worry about it. It's no biggie! [: )

Belaya sighed sadly as she noticed Lily's apprehensiveness towards Glamoura. The girl was probably not a dog person and Glamoura probably just ruined her idea of a dog.
Belaya then sat down on the hard floor and leaned against the cold, stone wall before answering.
"Well I don't eat too much and Glamoura needs plenty of exercise since he's..." she stopped here and thought for a moment "Well I think I should explain what a wolfdog is, huh? Well a wolfdog is the result of a dog and a wolf having puppies. Glamoura is one of these results. Wolfdogs don't really make good pets as most of them are too wild but there are some that act more like domestic dogs." here she gave Lily a stern yet friendly look. "Glamoura was only trying to be friendly, in fact I think he likes you! It's just that he shows it in a rougher, more wolf-ish way. He can't really help it, it's just the way that he knows and is Comfortable with. He really doesn't mean you any harm."
Glamoura sadly whimpered as Belaya pet him. He knew that he probably did something wrong but he didn't know what.

Lily felt bad that she didn't like dogs and probably gave Glamoura a nasty look. She just really hadn't been around dogs her entire life. They weren't something normally seen in the wizarding world. People normally kept owls. Even cats weren't exactly popular. Most girls had cats. They only time she had every really been around a dog was when her parents took her in the muggle world for some strange reason. She always ended up running into dogs there. They liked to walk them.
This 'wolfdog' however, seemed scary. Like it was going to attack Lily at any moment and eat her. Okay, maybe that was a bit of an exaggeration. But really. WOLFdog. The name sounds scary in itself.
"Sorry, I shouldn't have freaked over her. I'm just not used to dogs." Lily tried to make her only excuse work for her. But even to herself it didn't sound like a good one. Lily felt bad for acting like the dog was a mutant that was about to rip her head off any second.
This wolfdog business actually sounded pretty cool in Lily's mind though. Her being all about learning things and what not. She didn't know that two breeds could mate together. She supposed it was because they were both part of the dog family and about the same size. But it was still interesting to learn about.
"So... The wolf and the dog just... mate?" Lily asked kind of awkwardly. She didn't want to, but the curiosity got the best of her. Lily hated meeting new people. It always made her feel awkward about what she should say and what she could ask. It would just be so much better if she could just stay away from all new people and just associate with her closest friends and maybe relatives. If that.
Lily just kind of looked at the ground awkwardly and waited for the girl to reply. Man, did she hate being shy sometimes. It could SOOO put a damper on the conversation.

Belaya couldn't help but give Lily one of her rare, sisterly smiles. "Of course they can! Also don't worry too much about offending me. O don't rely mind too much."
Lily reminded Belaya of herself when she was still young and innocent. She had been very shy and always hid behind her twin. But that young, innocent girl died and was no longer a part of Belaya. She had to let it die or her brother would be dead and she as well.
"You know, you remind me of a young girl I once knew." Belaya commented "She was always hiding behind her brother and was very sweet and shy..." "Anyway, do you want to pet Glamoura? I promise he won't jump on you or anything like that!"

Lily didn't know that it was possible for the two to mate, but I suppose she does now. She always did love learning new things. Especially things like this. Stuff that you don't learn in the textbooks Hogwarts gives you to study off of. It's why she loved reading muggle novels on the holidays.
Lily was glad Belaya brought up the whole offending thing. She was really worried about if she was or not. She didn't like people hating her, especially when she didn't mean to make them hate her. There were occasions when she purposely wanted someone to hate her. Maybe someone annoying the shit out of her. But it was rare; most people knew to leave her alone.
Lily felt good when Belaya smiled at her, it was almost: friendly. Sincere. It felt nice. Lily really didn't have any friends. She didn't necessarily need them, but sometimes it felt good to be able to go to someone other than he cousins or brothers.
"I am shy... it's hard for me to talk to people," Lily admitted truthfully. She didn't know why she was admitting it. Maybe she needed to admit it to someone. She never really had before. Then again, she really only just became when she got to Hogwarts and realized her dad wouldn't always be there with her. She really was a daddys girl.
"Pet him?" Lily said in a small voice. "uh.... sure."
Lily slowly inched toward the wolf dog with her hand out stretched. What if it bit her!
Lily reached out and touched the wolfdog on the head and gave it a little pat. It didn't seem so bad after all! She smiled to herself before stroking the dogs head.
"Hey! You're not so bad!" Lily smiled to herself.

"Well, as long as you have people who are willing to talk to you, you'll never be lonely!" Belaya grinned "I'm glad to know that there's still honest people in the world! Well at least to me..."
She chuckled as Lily hesitantly pet his head then gradually stroked Glamoura's head with a smile.
"Indeed he isn't! See he even likes you!" Belaya said happily "It's really rare for Glamoura to have someone he instantly likes!"
Glamoura gently rubbed his head under Lily's hand and gave out soft, friendly whimpers of affection. Belaya wondered why her pet had become attached to the younger girl. He was usually very apprehensive of other humans and would never show this much affection and submission to anyone else besides her. Until now.
As Bell pondered over her wolfdog's strange behavior, Glamoura gently pawed at Lily's legs and slowly laid down. He really wanted to sleep as he had stayed awake all night, guarding his master's body as she traveled in her nightmares.

Lily heard Belaya speak the words, but she didn't know if they were necessarily true. She had people who were willing to talk to her, and she still felt lonely. She had friends, ones she didn't like to talk to a lot. Ones that didn't understand her at all. Ones that made her lonely still. Perhaps if she had friends that were different. Ones that accepted her for her, and not just because of who her father is. Lily didn't acknowledge Belaya's first comment out loud but instead continued to the second one.
"I suppose he does sort of like me. Weird. Most animals don't take a liking to me." Lily told her truthfully. Even Lily's own owl doesn't particularly like her. She always bites her, and not in the affectionate way. The mean way.
The wolfdog curled up by Lily's leg, and Lily smiled in response and gently rubbed behind his ears. His fur was so soft Lily just wanted to curl up with him, which was really weird. She didn't like animals, or dogs, or wolfdogs. Did she? Weird.
"So what year are you in?" Lily asked as the question popped into her brain. She realized she didn't really know. She couldn't be in Lily's year. She would have seen her. But she didn't look too much older than Lily.

"Yeah. It's strange for me too as Glamoura never shows thi much trust and affection to anyone but me, until now." Belaya replied sleepily "I wonder why..."
"Uhh... Pardon?" Belaya didn't feel too well and was losing her concentration "Oh yes, I'm a fourth year Hufflepuff. What about you?"
She decided to stare at her beloved pet, hoping to feel a bit better. It didn't help too much but it helped a bit. For some strange reason focusing on something when she was losing focus helped her feel better.

Lily smiled at the wolf dog, and then looked up at Belaya and smiled at her. A true, genuine smile. Something that rarely happened with Lily.
"I guess I"m just different. Maybe she's telling you we're supposed to be friends or something." Lily laughed at her joke and continued to pet Glamoura.
"I'm a third year. Gryffindor. The house of the brave, yet I can't even seem to answer a question out loud in class without freaking myself out. Even though I know all of the basically." Lily sighed heavily.
Belaya seemed... out of it. Almost as if she was almost falling asleep right there. "You okay?" Lily didn't know if she was just distracted, or if she was beginning to feel ill.
She silently hoped that if Belaya was going to be ill, that she wouldn't do it by her. It would cause her to become ill as well.
OOC: And don't worry! Mines small too. I figure we'll wrap up this thread soon... what with all the threads with Ceil now.
