James gazed at the grounds of the school, sucking on a sugar quill. He was supposed to be patrolling the grounds but the task had gotten a bit boring so he went to the Astronomy Tower instead as he didn't feel like sleeping. Other people might call him crazy, not wanting to sleep late at night but he was more used to working for almost the whole day with barely any sleep. After all, he was a DJ for about 18 years before he became a Hogwarts professor.
"I really hate how my computer can't work here. I really, really want to play some of my music..." James sadly muttered to himself "If I drop my sugar quill I'm going to be upset..."
James looked around, still sucking on the quill of sugary goodness, when he suddenly focused his gaze on a small group of trees near the Forbidden Forest. Not in the Forest but extremely close.
"I remember that spot! I used to sneak out there with Tania when we were so much younger." James exclaimed with a chuckle "We sneaked off so much more when we started dating. And after I graduated we used to meet there."

Minna was in one dark corner, she heard the unknown man ranting something about his muggle laptop and how it is not working. She stood up and brushed herself, “Well, this is Hogwarts. All muggle technology will mostly like be in the blitz because of the level of magic here. You should have known that.” She spoke to him in a monotonous voice.
She was in her dark jeans, a green blouse with silver designs and a black robe that kind of looks like s student’s black robe. “I’m surprised you didn’t know this at all, whoever you may be.” She added. She looked so younger a feisty and it made her unique among all the staff. And she knew no one would be able to tell at first that she is a teacher.
“If music is what you need, head over to the music room somewhere in this castle. They might be able to help you with your music dilemma.” She spoke in a clear and cold voice.

"Yes I do know. Pardon my ranting. I was just sorta complaining about that fact..." James replied with an embarrassed laugh "Oh, how rude of me! I'm Jaminson Redpaw, the new History of Magic professor but you may call me James for short."
James grinned and stuck out his hand. He had decided to wear dark green sweatpants with a blood red shirt saying 'Electro Badgers Tour- 2009' in yellow letters. Also on the shirt were two badgers wearing headphones. He had gotten that shirt when he went on tour with his wife back in America.
"May I ask for your name? My guess is that you are a Slytherin." James spoke cheerfully, unmoved by his colleague's cold voice "Am I correct? I doubt you are a student however. You seem older than a student. Oh, I hope you'll excuse me about mentioning your age. I'm told that women can become touchy about the subject..."

Minna was unfazed but took the hand that was offered. “Willhellminna Theoreux. Minna for short. Good guess. Head of Slytherin house and the new Ancient Runes Professor.” She let the hand go just as soon as she hand shook it once. She had a brief idea of who the man was in front of her. And he was married. Not that she cared at all. She only had one man she liked and love still, even if he was on the other side of the bloody world from where she was currently in.
“Well, now that we know each other, I shall leave you to your ranting then, Redpaw.” She said as she nodded her head a little and left. She still had the last-name thing when she was back in school. When you call someone by their last name would mean either they are useless to you or an enemy. If by first name, that would mean they are a friend or close alley. Most of the time that is.
She planned to leave the Astronomy Tower and head back to her dungeon common room to rest. However...

"Yeah... You learn how to distinguish age when you're a DJ." James explained "Nice to meet you Ms. Theoreux! Do you want a sugar quill?"
James took out a quill from his pocket and handed it towards Minna. He was planning to eat it but he decided that it would be better if he shared it with his new acquaintance.
Suddenly, as Minna started to leave, a white Least Weasel entered the tower and started to scamper towards James. The weasel was covered in blood and left bloody paw prints behind him.
(OOC: It's short, I know but I couldn't think of anything else...)

Minna’s eyes grew wide in horror as she saw the bloody animal scampering about. It was a rodent and she didn’t really like rats. Something about them gives her the creeps. She moved back near the edge and was leaning out too far. She had to get as far away from the bloody rat as much as possible.
As she was moving backwards, she forgot where they were and how high they were from the ground. She lost her balance and feeling that she was about to fall, fall to her death. ”Will this be my end? As the year just started!” she thought to herself as her life flashed before her own eyes.

James quickly pulled out his wand as soon as he noticed the younger woman falling.
"Avis!" James yelled, panicking.
Several large birds flew out of James' wand and went under Minna to help support her fall. Jmes quickly realized his mistake in choosing the Avis spell and quickly pointed his wand at her again, causing her to stop in mid-air and float back up to the tower. He gently placed her on the floor before breaking the spell and letting the birds fly away.
"Are you okay?" James asked worriedly, supporting her with his arm "That gave me quite a scare! Here, have some water."
James gently opened her mouth and muttered "Aguamenti", careful not to make the water flow too strong. He then cast an extremely light Cheering charm to calm down her nerves. Captain Berry then walked towards the two professors with a worried, yet curious face.

She didn’t know what just happened. Al she knew that she was still alive. Her knees gave way and she fell on the cold floor of the Astronomy Tower. She allowed the older man to give her water and she began to try and calm down. Then she turned red and angry at the man, “This is all your fault, you know! You and that bloody rodent of yours!” she yelled with all the hate she could muster.
She almost fell to her death because of the rat that was covered in blood that had ran up to the weird man. She collected herself, stood up and was about to storm out the tower. She had almost lost her life tonight. No thanks to the strange new teacher who apparently had a taste for sugar quills. ”Yuck! Sweets!” she thought. Before leaving, he turned to him, with her head still held high, “Thank you for saving me, Redpaw.” She said and left him alone.
She had enough adventures for one night. Enough for the Slytherin head to love her life even more so than before.

James felt a bit sad at the mistake Minna was making. Berry wasn't a rodent, he was weasel! His relatives were bedgers, otters, ferrets and stoats. There was a few more but he didn't feel like naming them. Otherwise he was pretty much fine with her screaming with hatred in her voice. He did understand why she was quite upset after all.
"You're very welcome! I hope you sleep well!" James replied with a soft, happy, smile while watching her walk off.
"Well then boy, I think you have to clean up now." James told his pet "I hope you had a good dinner."
James picked up his pet, careful not to get any blood on his shirt, and placed him on the ground and told Berry to stay. James then took out his wand and sprayed his pet with a strong blast of water than picked him up again to dry him.
"Well then. I guess we should be patrolling the grounds now. Let's go Captain!" James left the tower with the white weasel in his arms, bittersweet memories entering his mind as he turned away from the beautiful view.
