Lily was in Heaven. Her dad had come to visit for a while. To say hello to all her cousins, and her and her brothers. It was awesome. She missed her dad soo much. It was the one thing she hated... being away from her dad. She couldn't even say she hated being away from her mom, either, because that wasn't really true. She just missed her dad. She knew she was a daddy's girl.
So she walked into the Great Hall for Lunch with her dad right by her. Unashamed that she was with her dad. Slightly worried that this would give her more attention than she wanted, though. Seeing as he was as famous as he was. But she didn't even care at this point. Because she was with him again.
"So, daddy, what do you want to do today?" Lily asked him with a smile on her face and a skip in her walk. She didn't think anyone could be as happy as she was right now. It was the perfect thing she needed to escape from homework and classes and everything that came with Hogwarts.

Harry simply smiled at his daughter and patted her head. He had missed her and his kids when they were away from home. This had become a little more complicated when he and Ginny got a divorce. But he was trying to make his children feel that nothing was going to change. Nothing much...
"After having lunch, why don't you give my a grand tour of the new castle. It's not the one I remembered so things might have changed already. And we might see your brothers along the way too. Hopefully, your cousins too." Harry said as he took her little hand and led her inside the Great Hall.
It was far more grandeur now that it was, back in his time. But they had to rebuilt the whole castle. The last war had destroyed most of Hogwarts and McGonagall thought that a new castle design was going to be good for everyone. It was, but ever now and then, even would recall the events that transpire many years ago.

Lily laughed at her father and she led him to the table and sat down. She hoped he wouldn't notice the fact they weren't sitting next to anyone by thinking that it was just because he was there and not because she really didn't have any friends.
"A tour of the castle could take days, dad! I was hoping we could do something like throw around a quaffle or at least get up in the air. I haven't got on a broom since last summer! I miss it!" Lily knew she was being ridiculous. That it didn't make sense that she wouldn't get on a broom unless she was with her Father, but it was something they did together. Something that was special between the two of them and she felt like if she rode without him, it wouldn't be special anymore.
"I'm sure we'll see my brothers. And there are enough Weasleys running around that I'm sure we'll see one or two of them as well." Lily laughed. There really were a lot of redheads running around the castle.

Harry laughed at his daughters comment. She was right though. They were sure to see a Weasley or two as they walk around the school together. He noticed that they weren’t sitting with anyone else but didn’t make a fuse about it. He was sure Lily would tell him about it later.
Then he gave her a big smile, the one she loved best. “Quidditch eh… Very well. It’s been a long time since I have been on a quidditch field. Lead the way, princess.” Harry told her as he stood up and offered his hand to her, just like offering your hand to a princess.
Harry loved Lily and his kids. But for some reason, he loved her a little bit more than the boys. Must be because she was the only girl. But whatever the reason is, Lily wwould always be his only darling princess.

Lily smiled even bigger when he said that they could go play some Quidditch. She couldn't wait to go and zoom in the air with him again. It was one of the best feelings in the world.
"Dadddd. We haven't even ate yet! We just sat down! Lets eat first. Then we can go. It'll give us time to catch up. It seems like forever." Lily whined the last part. As to show how much she hated it.
She grabbed her dad's hand that was outstretched, waiting for her to grab it, and pulled him back down. Laughing as she did so.
"Have you been on any interesting missions lately? Catch anymore bad guys?" Lily smirked at her dad as she asked. Knowing that he can't technically tell her everything about his job because he's not allowed to. But also knowing that he gives in to most of everything she wants and will tell her something at least.

Harry laughed as he sat back, "Oh yes, lunch. How could I have forgotten? Maybe because I'm just too excite to fly with my princess again..." Harry said as he lovingly pinched his daughter's nose. He sat back down and smiled at her.
Lily's question was one of the many she kept asking him when he got home every night after work. And she knew that he wasn't going to tell her the whole thing. She was trully smart to ask questions, even if it was about his work.
"Well... Let's see... Oh, the Minister asked me for a very special favor yesterday. Something about looking for someone who had done something wrong... And you know daddy always catches the bad guys, don't you princess?" his eyes sparkled at her.

Lily laughed at his dad as he sat back down and started eating. Sometimes her dad could be a bit of an air head. But it was why she loved him so much.
"Dont worry, daddy. We'll have plenty of time to play Quidditch after we eat. I'm personally starving." Lily always did have an appetite of a growing boy inside that little petite girl body of hers. She blamed it on growing up with two older brothers.
"Daddy. You know that's not specific. And that happens every day. What did the person do?" Lily pushed for him to say more about what he had been up to. She always found him being an Auror an interesting job. Especially since he's the head auror. He always got the coolest missions and jobs to do. Like the favor for the minister he mentioned.
"Of course I know you stop all the bad guys! It's why I love you so much! You're always doing the right thing. Which makes you amazing." Lily gave her dad a big smile before digging into the food that was on the table.

Harry chuckled as Lily asked again. He knew she would keep asking and knew better than to keep giving her shallow answers. "Very well, this new assignment is all about a man who has taken something within the Ministry. You know I cannot tell you want he took, from where, and who he is. All I can say is that what he took is very important and valuable. Too valuable that this case is given to me by the Minister himself."
He sighed. He was already thinking of how to tell Lily that he might be gone for a month or two. The suspect had already left England and flew to Spain. He had to follow and get the item back. Harry was trying to come up with a way to tell Lily. That was why he came to Hogwarts personally.

Finally Lily got part of what she was looking for. It still depressed her that she couldn't get the entire story. But then again, it seemed like Lily was far to nosey for her own good. She knew her dad would be in huge trouble if he actually told her the specifics.
"I hope you catch the bad guy and get the thingy back, then! Make the Minister and me proud, daddy!" She smiled up at him brightly, her green eyes sparkling from just being with her dad again. She couldn't imagine not being able to not talk to her dad for a long period of time. She was too much of a daddy's girl for that.
Lily heard him sigh, and knew there was something more that he wasn't tell him. But she knew her dad enough to know that he would tell her when the time was right. When she needed to know. And he would never say or hide something to hurt her intentionally.

Harry smiled as she said 'Make the Minister and me proud'. He valued the pride of having his children proud of him and what he does for a living. He would never even think of disappointing his little princess and break her heart.
Harry turned serious and looked at Lily straight into her eyes. "Princess, you know that daddy loves you right? That daddy would never make you cry or sad. That I would never do anything to disappoint you and your brothers, right? And that daddy would always want to be with you no matter what happens, right?" he asked her.
He dreaded to tell her that he was leaving. That the only way of contacting him is thru mail. A special kind of letter that he was going to give her in a little while. He starting to sweat a little. He always did that when he was nervous. And it only happened when he was facing his children will news of him going somwhere for more than a month.

Lily watched as her dad's expression went from a smile to that of his nervous face. She hated seeing that face, and the sweat that came with it. She knew what it meant. She decided to adress the first thing he said, however. Before stating what she knew was going to be his response.
"Of course I do, daddy. You've never given me any reason not to." Lily answered the first thing that came to her mind. Even though her heart was becoming sad. She knew what was going to happen. It happened every time he had to leave. Every time he was going to be putting himself in danger for over a month.
"You're leaving again. Aren't you?" Lily said the words in a small voice and she started to stare at the table. Her joy and excitement flooded from her instantly. "How long..." was all she had the courage to say. She hated when he left for long missions. She never knew if he was going to come back... and it scared her.

Harry sighed as Lily asked him the thing he was dreading to hear. He held her hands lovingly and tried to smile, weak but tried still. "A month or two... I'm not sure. This man I am trying to capture moves fast and hops from one place to another..." Harry began his speech. He didn't want to see his daughter sad but it always was unavoidable when he was leaving for work at some distant place.
He reached into his pouch (the same pouch they used during their Horcrux hunt) and pulled out a small journal. He handed it to Lily and cleared his throat. "This is a very special journal. I have the same one with me at all times. If you fell like talking to me, all you have to do is write in it and my journal will light up and will show me what you wrote. You're journal will light up as well when I reply. It's still like talking but thru writing." he made her hold it tightly.
He looked serious and his voice was hard now. "No matter what happens, you have to keep this a secret and out of sight from anyone. If your brothers ask, you are not to tell them anything I have told you. You are not to tell them about this journal as well. Keep it safe because if it falls into the wrong hands, mad things might happen. Do you understand, Lily?" he asked her.

Lily wanted to plug her ears when he said a month or two. That was too long! He could get injured, or killed. And she wouldn't be able to see him! It just wasn't fair! When she had kids, she would never leave them for months. It wasn't fair to them. A slow tear fell down her cheek as she thought of him being gone, somewhere dangerous.
When he took out the journal and handed it to her, explaining what it was. She smiled at the thought. Basically instant communication with him. It was better than an owl. She wondered why he hadn't given her it before.
"Anytime I need you? Just write in it? And you'll answer?" Lily asked several questions together, making sure she understood how it worked. It reminded her of something. A story he told her about his time at Hogwarts. All his adventures.
"Isn't this like Tom Riddles Diary? How he communicated with Mom in her first year?" She had to ask. She thought that they told her that as the first real time they spent any time together. Even though it wasn't a really good time to be spending together.
One thing struck Lily as weird though. Why couldn't she tell her brothers... Wouldn't he want them to be able to communicate too.
"Why can't I tell Al or James?" Lily asked. The tear still falling down her face as she reached up and wiped it away. Not as sad as she was before, but still afraid that her dad would get hurt on the mission. It was her worst fear.

He nodded. "Almost the same journal but nothing like it. That journal was dark magic and it was a journal containing his memories." Harry said. He then smiled at her. "Yes, anytime you need me,I will reply as soon as my journal lights up. All you have to do is simply write in it and I will be able to read it." he explained.
Then Harry turned serious again. "You are not to tell you brothers because for some reason they tend to say things to their friends when they are caught off guard. I know you will never be like than and will protect something when I tell you too." Harry told her.
He wiped the small tear that fell from her eye and gave her a hug. "Daddy will be alright, princess. I'm strong, aren't I? You know better than anyone the dangers daddy already faced since I was in my first year here at Hogwart's right?" He asked her, trying to cheer her up. He knew she was worried and didn't want her to worry about him the least.

Lily figured this didn't have any Dark Magic, but nodded her head at what her father said none-the-less. She loved the idea of this journal. She could actually talk to him and make sure he was safe! Something she normally couldn't do on any of his other missions!
Lily had to agree with what her dad told her about her brothers. They did tend to have a big mouth. Lily thought that maybe she didn't tell anyone because she had no one to tell... but she wouldn't tell even if she did. It was personal between her and her dad. Something she loved.
"Okay, I won't tell them anything. I promise, daddy."
Lily heard what her dad was saying. About him being strong and knows what he's doing. But it didn't make her feel better. Even the strongest people could get injured at the wrong moments. She knew that. So did he. He was just trying to make her feel better.
"I know, daddy. But you know I still worry about you. I couldn't handle it if I lost you. You mean too much to me." Lily's face had the frown on it again and another tear rolled down her face. She really hated goodbyes.
