Clarice walked into the staff room to find it empty, it was a tad too early. Most people didn't rise as early as she did. Truthfully, neither did she. Last night was a rough night of sleep. It seemed as if every time she finally fell asleep something would wake her up or she would have a bad dream. She got tired of her sleep apnea sometimes, but it was something she had to deal with in her life. She yawned as she poured herself a cup of coffee and grabbed a copy of the daily prophet that was available to every staff member. She sat down on a couch and began to read, flipping through the entire thing to see if there was anything worth her time. Hoping to at least find something to distract herself from the nightmares that haunted her mind. She had dreamt of her brother last night, for the first time in a while. She didn't understand why all of a sudden, but she had. Therefore she was going to do anything in order to keep her mind off the images running through her head. It was on that thought that she heard the door open.

Jaimie bounced into the room. Unlike most people, she was fully awake the second her eyes opened. Many thought she was crazy in that way, and she jokingly agreed. Today her eyes looked wild and more hyper than usual. She spotted Clarice in a chair reading the Daily Prophet and waved enthusiastically. "Good morning, Clarice!" she said in a very sing-song voice. "You're up early today."

Clarice smiled as she saw who entered the room, she was glad it wasn't one of the staff she didn't particularly like. She did enjoy talking to Jaimie though. She was always so full of life and spirit. A nice changed from the old Potions master. "Good morning, Jaimie. Please, call me Claire. Clarice is just so formal!" She smiled at her before continuing. "Yes it is a tad early for me. I couldn't sleep last night for some strange reason." She saw no need in telling her that it was the anniversary of her brothers death. It wasn't until she saw the date on the newspaper that she realized it herself.

Jaimie smiled and sat down next to Clarice holding a cup of hot tea. "Alright, Claire. Are you still tired?" she asked. "How are you today?" She realized she was talking very quickly because of how hyper she was and probably wasn't giving Claire a chance to answer at all, so she took a long drink of her tea.

She smiled at the younger teacher as she began to talk extremely fast. It was a good thing teachers had been training to understand that, so she heard her perfectly. "I am. Yet, I feel as if I wouldn't be able to fall asleep anyways. So I got up for the day. Normally I don't awake until an hour later. I er," She began to say something but decided against it. "I'm good. Excited to start classes today. I'm having the first years learn a new spell today." She was going to tell Jaimie that she felt a little down, but decided not to. She didn't like telling people what she was feeling. She liked to hold her emotions in. The only one she told anything to was her husband, Halen.

Jaime smiled. "Oh? What spells are you teaching them? Think any of them will mess up and blow something up?" She was bouncing up and down with hyperness today. "I'm teaching my fifth years how to make a love potion. I'm curious to see how it will turn out, and how many of the girls will try it on someone else." She giggled with excitement, resembling a happy puppy while she spoke.

She smirked to herself before replying, "I'm teaching them how to make a banana dance across their desks. It never fails to amuse them." She laughed to herself and at how hyper her college was before answering what she had told her. "Love potion, eh? I'll bet a lot fo them use it. Young love is something everyone wants, but few actually have." She laughed again as she saw Jaimie literally bouncing on the couch next to her, she had to put her coffee cup down as to make sure it wouldn't spill. "Are you always this hyper in the morning?" She laughed and thought that she would be a fun teacher to have.

Jaimie laughed. "Be sure to tell me how that works out! And it should be interesting, most of them will probably not do it correctly." She took a long drink of her tea before adding, "And yes, I am, almost always this hyper." She grinned. "I've been told I remind people of a bird or a puppy."

Claire thought for a second before deciding, "Definitely a puppy." She laughed. "Probably not, I know I didn't the first or second or third time. And I'll definitely tell you." She smiled yet again at Jaimie. She didn't know what it was about her, but she actually put a smile on her face. And laughter in her voice. Normally on this day she would hide in her bedroom until she had to teach classes. Give a crap load of homework to each class, then sulk back.

Jaimie laughed. "Yeah, that ones more common on my really hyper days." She smiled and laughed again. "And I did, too, when I first tried it. I just hope they accidentally don't turn it into the Drought of Living Death."

Clarice's answering laugh seemed to ring about the room before she switched it to a sigh halfway through. It was nice to get her mind off of her brother, yet she didn't think it would work as soon as she left the room to begin classes for the day. "Yeah, I suppose it can be extremely dangerous letting students brew potions like that. Well, even letting them doing certain spells would be dangerous if it back fires at all."

Jaimie nodded, her usual childlike eyes becoming much more serious. "Magic has it's risks. It's our job to teach the kids the right way to do it, so they can't hurt themselves." She set her tea on the side table and put her hair up in a ponytail, her face maturing from a hyper puppy to a strict adult in a simple matter of moments.

Magic definitely had it's risks. She knew all too well. Clarice's husband had almost died because of magic. When he was doing trying to make a potion one day. He was always horrible at potions. But it ended up being a nice trip to Mungo's and the healers telling him that he go to an apothecary from now on. "Agreed" Clarice sighed before standing up and taking her now empty cup to the sink, and washing it really quick. "I probably should be going. I've gotta get some stuff ready for classes today."

Jaimie nodded and stood up also. "I probably should, too. I need to clean up the dungeon before potions begins." She put her cup in the sink and pulled her hair out of the ponytail, letting it fall loose around her shoulders. "I'll see you later."

Claire smiled before walking out of the door and to her classroom, a rare smile on her face as she realized for the first time. That she actually enjoyed her morning.
