It was giving him a headache. The children would get what they were given and if they didn't like it, that was tough. They should be grateful that someone has even bothered to go and buy them something. "Come, Scorpius, we still need something for your sisters." he ordered, pushing past a crowd of singers into whatever shop was nearest. He didn't care what was in the shop, as long as it wasn't as crowded inside as it was outside.[/ul]

Scorpius almost felt embarrassed with the way his father was acting, ever since he was young he had made it a point to be as friendly as he could be, it wasn't because he was some sort of social butterfly, but more of the fact that the people he became friendly with could come with use later. He definitely wasn't his father's son completely, but indirectly he most certainly was, he always thought before approaching anyone, sizing them up. It was a wonder why he wasn't sorted into Slytherin.
Reluctantly bringing himself out of his thoughts Scorpius followed his father obediently.
"Yes father." Before he could stop himself Scorpius blurted out something that he wasn't sure his father would like, "are you going to get Mother anything?"
It wasn't that Astoria Malfoy couldn't get anything herself, it was just that as the years passed she grew more sentimental and seemed to lose grip of what her family was like, although Scorpius disagreed his mother seemed to find that her husband had a heart as pure as gold.
Although Scorpius disagreed it was hard to disagree openly, or express anything negative to someone that fragile, he almost pitied her. But she didn't act like that all the time, sometimes she'd get so worked up, but somehow his father almost always managed to appease her. The saddest thing Scorpius found, about his parents' relationship was that they weren't even in love, they were...civil, and sometimes they could even be dubbed as "friends" but that was all they were.

Scorpius found himself holding back a sneer as he realized what sort of shop he was in, he honestly had no idea how girls could find them so endearing, then again he wasn't a girl so he couldn't really judge.
Suddenly, in a voice that seemed far too impertinent, and childlike for his liking Scorpius spoke out; "wouldn't it be prudent Father, if we, I mean you bought jewellery rather than flowers? Besides no matter how much one cares for flowers, they simply wilt after a certain amount of time, however with jewellery it is quite different, they often have charms on them and, well don't most women like jewellery more than flowers?" Aware that he was going on about jewellery and flowers Scorpius sighed mentally, only around his father would he have to prattle on about meaningless things such as jewellery and flowers.

, why don't you find a shop selling jewellery, Scorpius?" he asked sourly, striding out of the florist's and glaring at anyone and anything that so much as dared to get in his way. Once he was outside in the cold again Draco continued to barge his way through the crowds and ignored the irritating little children that never ceased to get on his nerves.[/ul]

Scorpius sighed as his father staged a mini fit, his father always did have a flair for dramatics. Scorpius absentmindedly wondered if his father had ever considered a position in acting, it seemed...fitting for his father who was as close as one could be to being a master at deception, so pretending to be someone else wouldn't be far off his father's alley.
With one last look of distaste at the flowers that surrounded him Scorpius ran - no, running was undignified, and Malfoys, were most definitely dignified if not anything else - he walked quickly to catch up to his father, however Draco kept on walking, well it seemed to be more like barging past people rather than just walking.
Scorpius frowned as he saw the sign hanging from the side off the ice cream parlor.
"Father! Why are you heading for Knockturn Alley?"

Draco thought to himself. He continued walking quickly, hoping Scorpius wasn't too far behind him and wouldn't question him on his decision to go shopping somewhere else. He sighed in frustration as Scorpius did in fact ask why. "Because, Scorpius, there may be some far more interesting products for us to buy there for your mother." he answered sharply, "Now, stop dawdling and hurry up."[/ul] (OOC: Sorry for the shortness.. I'm tired.)
