Harry sighed as he remembered when he was going to leave. He smiled bravely at Lily, "I leave after supper, Princess." he told her. "And about that chess game... I don't know if I can still play it. Your Uncle Ron was the best player during our time here. He played the best game of wizard's chess Hogwarts had seen in years, according to Dumbledore." Harry said.
It was true. He never defeated Ron at all. He would always lose to his best friend no matter how hard he tried. Ron always gave him a handicap which Harry thought was being pitiful already. Cuase even with it, he still couldn't beat Ron.
"Anyway, I just hope we ran into your brothers as well. I need to speak to them seeing as I will be gone for more than two weeks like I always have. Just goes to show that evil is trying to beat the light side, our side." he spoke again. This time he was sure that Lily would sense the fear he was trying to hide. He could never imagine living his children. And that other person.
Harry turned to look at Lily and wondered how mature she can be. "Lily... Daddy wants to ask you something...." Harry began. He didn't know how to ask her what she thinks about Draco Malfoy.

Lily laughed, the kind that sounded like bells ringing even in her ears. She knew that beong with her dad brought out the best in her and she was scared because of that. It was time she started branching out a bit. She just didn't know if she could. She heard her father say that he was leaving after dinner. She kind of figured that it would be some time around there, bur she could hope that he would stay longer. She shouldn't get her hopes up.
Lily didn't know what to say about her dads comment about herbrothers and good and evil so she just kind of stayed silent. Sheknew it worked fully when he dad said something else, then she could just move on to whatever he wanted to askher. It was a win win.
"You know you can ask me anything, daddy. I'll always listen and answer as goodas I can, truthfully of course." If there was one thing her dad taught her throughout her life it was to be truthful no matter what. She didn't know if she should be afraid of what he wanted to ask her, but she wouldn't find out till he did.

Harry wondered how he would tell his daughter that his amazing father was gay. Even if she was mature, how will she understand that he love men, not women. He knelt down in front of her ad looked at her, "Lily, you know that I loved your mother and that I will always love her, right?" Harry began. He was just trying to prolong his own agony.
He was shaking and was trying to hide it. He didn't want to show that he was nervous and he was trying to avoid showing Lily any reason for her to think he was scared. "How in bloody heel would I tell her that I fancy Draco Malfoy???" he screamed inside his mind. He just had to say it before she would hear it from anyone else. "Lily... I.. Uh..."

Lily swallowed hard when her dad mentioned her mum. She was still kind of upset about the fact they had gotten a divorce. She had grown used to it. But it didn't make it any better. Sometimes she wished that her parents were back together so she could live a normal life.
"Of course I know that, Daddy. Why?" She answered him anyways. The answer he wanted to hear.
Lily noticed that her dad was showing all his normal signs of being nervous. He was shaking... and trying to hide it. And when it seemed like it was going to talk, he started stuttering. Whatever it was had to be bad.
"What is it, Daddy? You know you can always tell me anything." Lily smiled at her dad for encouragement. She really meant it. She loved her dad more than anything else in the world. And she wanted him to trust her like she trusted him.

Harry took a big gulp and a deep breath. "Lily... Princess... I was wonder what you think about your school Governor, Draco Malfoy. I'm sure you've seen him around the school, haven't you?" he began. He was a nervous reck. He just didn't know how she would handle the truth.
Though Draco and him are just starting out to be friends, Harry was sure that he will have the Malfoy heir sooner or later. Things had changed when he began to realize that he won't have anything he sets his eyes to if he didn't do anything to get it. He was going to have to just make his moves.
"So... How do you think of him? Would it be alright if he becomes a friend of Daddy's?" he asked her, trying to be brave and throwing away any hesitation that his mind was building up. His time with Lily was growing to a close and he just had to hurry up and tell her before his time ran out.

Lily's eyebrows burrowed a bit. That was what he was so nervous asking her? If she liked one of her governors because he wanted to be friends with him. Since when does he need her approval on his friends? It didn't make sense to her, but she answered none-the-less.
"I don't really know him, Daddy. I've never actually talked to him or anything. But you don't need my approval for friends. You know that. I'll trust your judgement, Daddy." Lily smiled up at her dad and gave him a big hug around the waist.
"But... isn't Draco Malfoy the one you constantly fought with when you went to Hogwarts? The evil one that was a death eater and almost killed Dumbledore?" Lily had heard plenty of stories from his dad's time at Hogwarts. It wasn't like her dad to just be friends with someone that had once been his enemy. Was it? Sure, he could have changed. Sure, he probably did change. But it was still a bit weird.

Harry just wanted to tell Lily that he was 'seeing' Draco Malfoy. He then caught himself before he could actually say it. And then realized what his daughter just asked. "Yes, that Draco Malfoy. However, he, like myself, had changed since then. Everyone changed after the war." he trailed off.
He didn't want to go down memory lane but being at Hogwarts just made it impossible. Flashes of the night at the Astronomy Tower flashed before his mind. Dumbledore stunning Harry to watch quietly, the incident with Draco aiming his wand at Dumbledore, Snape coming in then followed by the rest of the Death Eaters... Everything flashed at once.
Harry began to shiver with the memories. He hated them. Despite coming to terms with them, he still hated the memories of that night. But he never blamed Draco or Snape. He never could. He hugged himself a bit to stop himself from shaking. He hated when he shivered. It was hard to make them stop.

Lily had a strange feeling that her dad wasn't just talking about being friends with this Malfoy person. She had a feeling it was more than that. She had thought this for a while now, but didn't have the guts to fully ask him. She thinks he's gay. The way he hasn't really looked at another women since the divorce. The divorce in itself. Everything led her to think it. But he had never told her it.
Lily wouldn't care if he was. All she cared about was if he was happy. If being gay made him happy, then she would welcome him either way. It made no difference to her what kind of people he liked. She loved him no matter what, because he was her daddy.
"Dad. Is there something you need to tell me? Something other than asking what I think of Draco Malfoy?" Lily hoped he would tell her if what she thinks is true. Today was a time to get everything out in the open between them. They had no secrets.

He stopped shivering and turned to look at Lily. His eyes were as big as muggle tennis balls. "Does she suspect me already? Does she think I'm gay? Will she be alright with it? Or will she hate me? Oh Merlin!" He was really panicking.
"How much does she know of the truth? Will she be able to handle the truth? Will she love me any less if she finds out? What about my boys? What am I going to bloody do?!" Harry screamed inside his mind. Then quickly turning back to look at her.
"Will you love me any less if you found out something wrong about me, Princess? Will you begin to hate daddy if you heard that he was... That he is... That I am.." He didn't know how to say it He was scared like he was facing a dementor back before his sixth year. In the tunnel. With Dudley. It was almost the same kind of fear.

Lily laughed at her dad stumbling. Like she didn't know. His hesitation when she asked proved to her that he was really gay. Not to mention the fact he couldn't even get out the word gay. But there wasn't anything wrong with him like he said. It wasn't something that should be counted as being 'wrong'. It was natural.
"Daddy. I will love you no matter what. No matter if you like girls or guys. You're my daddy, and I love you. I'll support you no matter what, just like you'd support me. There is nothing wrong with you, daddy." Lily smiled at her dad and grabbed his hand in hers to show her love. To show that she wasn't mad. To show that she loved him, unconditionally. No matter what. The love between a father and daughter, especially one as close as this one, wouldn't be broken just because the dad was gay. Lily would never do that to her dad.

Harry was lost for words. He just heard what he wanted... What he hoped to hear from Lily. He smiled and hugged her before spinning her in the air. "Thank you, Princess. You have no idea how worried I have been. I've been trying to tell you all summer really. I just couldn't bring myself to do so." He said after putting her down.
"Do you think your brothers will be as mature as you are about this? They don't think the way you do and everyone knows that." he joked a little, trying to relieve himself of the residual fear and worry. Lily now knows and is fine with it. He hoped James and Albus would be fine with it too.
"So... Back to Draco Malfoy. What do you think of him?" he asked again, trying to smile nervously. He wondered if she ran into the Malfoy children already? Were they just like Draco and Harry when they met? He hoped not.

Lily giggled as her dad spin her in the air. She was always happy when he was happy. It was just the way they worked together. One was happy when the other was happy and vise versa.
"Never be afraid to tell me something, Daddy. I'll always love you. No matter what." Lily smiled at him again. Truly meaning what she said. She would love him no matter what. Her brothers on the other hand... she didn't know.
"I don't know, Daddy. You know how they are. But no matter what happens, I'll always be here for you. And I've always been the better one when it comes to spells, and even brute strength. You know that. I could always teach them a thing or two." Lily winked at her dad. Meaning what she said, but not really. She knew her dad wouldn't approve of that.
"I think that if you like him, then I'll love him!" Lily smiled at him again. She had heard of the Malfoy's. There were three of them around the school. Nadia, Scorpius, and Alexandria. She hadn't really talked to any of them. Never really having the need to.

Harry was really happy now. Telling Lily was his biggest fear. Then he laughed when she jooked about teaching Albus and James a thing or two. She often did beat them in mock battles at the Burrow and at Harry's New Place.
"So, shall we enter the castle and you give me a tour of the new Hogwarts? I'm sure I'll be amazed since I haven't been here since I graduated." he told her. He wanted to spend as much time with her before he had to leave. He didn't know when he'd be able to get backso he had to make the best of whatever time he had with her.

"Tour it is, Daddy!" Lily smiled. She didn't want her dad to go, but she would sure do anything to make his visit last longer. If that meant taking a tour of the entire castle, every nook and cranny Lily could possibly find. Then that was what she was going to do. Lily hoped that they saw her brothers on the tour, but she doubted it. They seemed to be good at making themselves scarce when someone needed them. Like her.
"What do you want to see first, Daddy?" Lily had, obviously, never given a tour of the castle and therefore didn't know where to begin with, what to show, etc. So she figured she'd ask and see if he had anywhere he wanted to go first. That would be the better thing to do. Save her from the trouble of trying to come up with somewhere. Although she thought about the Common Room.

"Surprise me, Princess. Anywhere is fine as long as I spend the tour with my wonderful little girl." He told her with his bright smile. He didn't really care where she wants to start as long as they get to bond and have fun during their fleeting time together.
"I just hope that at some point we run into your brothers and cousins. I did run into Dominique earlier. And your Professor Redpaw. He seemed strange but in a comical way.... Like your Uncle Ron but with more class and loner attention span." he told her as they walked out the pitch.
