Phoenix's laugh was like bells to Rayne's ears. It was adorable. Was it normal to feel this way about someone she had just met? No... this was just friendship. Nothing more. Right? Rayne was acting normal. One hundred percent normal.
Rayne put a polished trophy on the self and grabbed another. One that didn't even look dirty at all... What was the point in cleaning these stupid things. When Phoenix mentioned 'The Academy is...", Rayne's eyes lit up. She hadn't met anyone with the same taste in music as her. "I love music! And The Academy is.. is one of my favorite bands! Along with My Chemical Romance, Fall out Boy, and Panic! At the Disco."
She gushed, forgetting momentarily about the trophy she was polishing in her hand. "William Beckett's voice is so dreamy. I love it. So is Brendon Urie's though" She said with a huge smile at him. She never got into wizarding music. She was into the muggle bands more. [/blockquote]

Phoenix's first reaction was to ask "are you real?" to the girl he had luckily been paired up with for detention. But he caught himself. But hearing her taste in music... Phoenix felt his stomach do a flip. This was just... awesome, perfect, great, super, etc. With a grin that stretched from ear to ear he turned to face her, polishing the trophies with newfound interest. "Mine too! I listen to all those too!" Phoenix ran a hand through his hair, visibly flushed in the face. Finding someone with similar tastes as him, it would be an understatement to say that he was happy. He was more than that. Phoenix could feel his heart flutter away in his chest, making him swallow nervously. "And yes! Beckett's voice..." Phoenix gave a dreamy sigh. "I wish I could sing like that so bad. I sing but... y'know. I want to sound just like him. Its so sweet." The teen set down a trophie, wondering how many they had to do. They were doing a pretty good job between them but it wasn't fast enough for him. He kinda wanted to be able to go grab some dinner and then meet up with the girl before curfew, to just generally gossip about music and stuff. It was a shame they weren't in the same Houses. Or that he had met her sooner... "I'm...I'm glad I got detention now." Phoenix chuckled, looking away from the Gryffindor and to a piece of gold coloured metal. "Lucky meeting you."[/blockquote]

Rayne saw the blush on Nyxie's cheeks. It was adorable. Rayne didn't exactly know why he was blushing though. All she had told him was what she liked music why... how would that make someone blush. "Is that a blush I see...."
She joked with him. Laughing and nudging him with her elbow. "I'm sure you sing amazingly. You'll have to sing for me sometime." She smiled at him in a cute way. She would like nothing more than to hear him sing, she was sure he had an amazing voice. Rayne wished she could sing. When he mentioned how he was happy he got a detention because he met her... well. Now it was her turn to blush. She looked away from him just like he had looked away from her. She tried to stop her cheeks getting red, but it just wasn't possible. [/blockquote]

Phoenix batted her hand away with a small chuckle. Her pointing out his mild blush wasn't helping at all. It just made it worse. He walked a couple of steps away to polish the silvers in peace. Away from the girl that pointed out his silly blush. "I'll sing for you sometime. You can count on that one." Phoenix smiled to himself. He was never embarrassed about singing in front of people. He enjoyed it. And if he had a guitar, even better. He didn't care if people were a fan or not of his taste in music when he did it. It just felt right. Singing was the outlet for his worries and woes, something highly personal that he strangely didn't mind sharing. "Oh? What's this?" Phoenix grinned cheekily, breezing over to the girl and calmly prodding her in one of her rosy cheeks. "Is that a blush I see?" He chuckled, using the very same phrase she had used on him before. It was crazy cute her blush. It brought out the blue in her eyes even more. The teen quickly found himself just looking at them. Phoenix blinked forcibly and cleared his throat, turning back to the cabinet. "We should....uh... get a move on with these trophies. Who knows when McMoody'll be back."[/blockquote]

Rayne just laughed at Phoenix as he walked away from her, clearly more embarrassed but she didn't have any room to talk. Her blush was probably more noticeable than his because of how pale she was. Soon enough, he made a comment about her blush, even poked one of her cheeks. Which caused her to blush even more. Then he was looking at her. Looking into her eyes. She looked back into his before he cleared his throat and turned back to the cabinet. Commenting on how Brent could come back anytime. It was true.
"Er... yeah. Right. McMoody."
Rayne said, more to herself than to Phoenix. She hurriedly started to polish another trophy. Was it weird that she had just had a moment with someone she had just met? That she started to smile when she thought about him, and that little comments he said made her blush? That wasn't like Rayne. At all. What was wrong with her. "a-and good. You'll have to sing for me soon." She smiled. Trying to gain her composure again, but feeling like she was failing miserably. [/blockquote]

Phoenix polished the remaining trophies in silence. Feeling rather awkward after the whole blushing situation. She probably thought he was awkward or something. Or an odd guy. One thing he knew for sure right then was that he was a hungry guy. It felt like they had been here forever. Hearing Brent's voice, Phoenix started and whipped around on his heel. And.... was his Head smiling? Phoenix tried not to smile to. But then... he didn't have to try. They had missed dinner? That was one of the best times of the day! The teen resisted the urge to stroke his rumbling stomach in an attempt to soothe it. "Yeah... I have." Kinda. Phoenix just knew that for the next time, they'd look before ordering drinks. And be more sneaky about it, too. But something good came out of missing dinner though - he got to spend some more time with Rayne. He turned his head to look at her and gave her a smile. "Going to the kitchens sounds good to me."[/blockquote]

Rayne snapped her head around when she heard Brent's voice echo through the trophy room. When she turned to look at him, she thought her heart was about ready to stop beating. Literally. Brent was... smiling. She knew this had been a dream! There was no way she would actually blush in real life because of something a guy she had just met said. Right....
"Of... course I've learned my lesson, Professor..."
Rayne said, not meaning it one bit. Seeing Nyxie's head turn toward her, she looked at him and smiled back. "Works for me, Nyxie. I'm starving." Rayne could always eat more than any of her friends. She was a girl that loved her food, yet always kept her extremely slim figure. She wasn't complaining. She loved food. "Bye, Professor!" Rayne said as she went over and grabbed Nyxie's hand and dragging him out of the trophy room. She wanted fooooood. [/blockquote]
