Chris was happy. Okay he was more than happy. He was in love. He still couldn't believe that Alex loved him. He wouldn't admit this to her, but he never thought her cousin would let them get to that point. He was sure that Blaze would step in and somehow screw up their relationship. It seemed though that he was wrong in his assumption and that he really had nothing to worry about.

He had just walked into the Great Hall for some lunch when he ran into, literally, Blaze. He knew that he was going to get an ear full before he got to eat anything today. "Sorry Blaze, I didn't see ya there." He hoped that she would just get it out and let him be on his way.

Blaze took a deep breath and turned to see Sutton beside her. Her vein twitched but she didn't want to scream at him, not today at least. She sighed and faced him, placing her hands on her hips.

"You should bloody watch out were your going, Sutton." she began with a low but stern voice. She wasn't in the mood. And she remembered that Sutton knew of her little secret. She didn't forget that he saw her with Tommy down at the kitchens. She had to sigh again.

"I've heard from Alex that she's decided to keep seeing you. Not that I like it but then again, I have no choice. Just make sure you don't make her cry or I will hurt you." she hissed at him.

Chris was really tired of Blaze thinking he was going to hurt her. Seriously, what made her think that he would do that. "You know what, I'm really tired of you threatening me. I would NEVER hurt Alex. I, I love her. Why would I ever do something to jeopardize that?"

He hadn't expected to have it out with Blaze today but now that it was happening, he was glad that they were going to get it all out into the open. "Not only do I love her but she loves me too. She told me so. She doesn't want to lose me and I don't want to lose her. But you know what, you might if you keep this up. I won't ask her to choose but you might do it for me. Like it or not Blaze, we are together and nothing is going to change that."

Blaze didn't really care. She tried not to look scared. She was scared of losing Alex. She was like the sister she never had. Since her family died, Alex had been there for her. The forever best friend. And now that Chris was there, Blaze was scared to her wits end of losing the only person who could truly understand her.

She looked away from Chris, "Tsk, you won't understand why I have to keep reminding you. I have to . Losing her would probably kill me. You have no idea what its like to have your mother and older brothers murder by your own father." Blaze began to rant off in a low voice. Low enough for Chris to hear alone.

"Alex is all I have left. And now your taking her away from me too. Everything I love is being taken away. You won't know how I feel." she said as she turned around.

Chris kind of understood, not the whole thing, but enough to understand what Alex means to her. He had to get her to understand that he wasn't taking her away. He would never make her choose, never tell her to stay away from Blaze.

"Blaze, look at me." He turned her around so that she could look him in the eye. "I'm not taking her away from you. I would never do that. You mean as much to her as she does to you. I could never take that away from her. I would die before I do.

"I don't like fighting you Blaze. I don't like that it makes Alex sad that she can't spend time with the both of us at the same time. I want us to be friends. I love her and she loves you. Can't that be enough for us to put aside our differences and try to get along?"

Blaze stared at him in shock. Did he really mean what he just said? That he wasn't going to take Alex away from her? She had to agree to what Chris said. He had to aces up his sleeve: Him knowing her secret and controlling Alex. She was left with no other option.

She sighed. "Alright. We can have a t-truce... For now. B-but... If anything happens to her, consider the truce null and void. And expect a million hex coming your way." she stuttered. She was never going when it came to negotiating. Alex was better at it.

Blaze had to loosen up or she'd die before she had her revenge on her dad.

Chris knew that was really as good as he was going to get. He couldn't expect miracles and a truce was better than nothing. "Alright, truce. And just so you know, if I do anything to hurt her in any way, I won't stop your hexes. Hell, I'll even throw down my wand and let you at it. I meant what I said. I care about her, I love her. I don't want anything to happen to her." He stuck out his hand for her to shake. More as a way to show his sincerity than anything else.

Blaze wanted to applaud him for his bravery. But she didn't She simply nodded and sighed. "Iknowyouwon'thurther." she mumbled. She really didn't want to admit it but she had to let it out. He deserved to be praised, even a little.

She looked the other way, trying to conceal her blush. She hated doing the right thing but she knew it was what she had to do. If this guy was making Alex happy, she should be getting along with him. It was the only way.

Chris had to strain to hear her but he's pretty sure Blaze just said that she knew he wouldn't hurt Alex. It was about time she realized that. He didn't voice his thought those seeing as how their truce was less than a minute old. He did not want to be at the receiving end of her wand...again.

He wondered if they should tell Alex about this new development. He figured they really should but who should tell her and how he was unsure of. Who better to know than the one she considered a sister. "So, who should tell Alex about this truce? I mean, she has to know, we can't just keep it from her. She'd probably hex me and not talk to both of us if we did that. I don't know about you, but I prefer not to be at the receiving end of her wand."

Blaze flipped her away as she turned, "You tell her then. It's not going to be me who's telling her." she said. It was a sure punch line if Blaze told Alex about their truce. She was not saying it. Over her drop dead gorgeous body.

"Just don't mention anything else aside from the truce. I would know if you said anything else." she added as she was thinking of leaving. She didn't have anywhere else to go really. But if she stayed longer, Sutton's softness might start to rub off on her.

It took a minute but Chris was pretty sure he knew what she was talking about. He honestly had forgotten about he being soft on a young lion. He sure as hell wouldn't go telling anyone. He would like to keep his head thank you very much. "I will tell Alex the next time I see her then. Oh and don't worry, I won't tell anyone. I'd like to remain hex free thanks."

He was reminded why he came to the Hall in the first place when his stomach grumbled. "Well I'm going to get some lunch. I hope you have a good day Blaze. And sorry again for bumping into you earlier." With one last tentative wave, Chris walked over to the Gryffindor table, contemplating what the hell just happened.

Blaze swore that if he ever did tell anyone, Alex will be loving a headless lion soon enough. She just turned around, planning to head on over to the Slytherin table. She didn't bother to say anything else. She might just go back to cursing him again.

She had to sigh. Blaze was becoming soft, too soft for her own good. She better not slip and have anyone notice about it. Her reputation was at stake.
