quidditch
Quidditch? What? Yes! WWB is having Quidditch. But not as you know it.
SIGN-UPS:
But we already have sign-ups! Yes that's true but the Quidditch sign-ups haven't been updated in a while. Also for this game to work we need at least four types of players: chaser, keeper, beater and seeker. Due to the house ratios we are keeping it four players per house. (Extra note: if you do not wish to play simply PM me, it's not mandatory, you don't even have to give a reason, this is just for fun.)
So! Who we need:
GRYFFINDOR -
Beater - Albus Potter
Seeker -
Chaser -
Keeper -
SLYTHERIN -
Beater - Alexandria Malfoy
Seeker - Blaze Livington {Captain}
Chaser - Andrew Maxwell
Keeper -
HUFFLEPUFF -
Beater -
Seeker -
Chaser -
Keeper -
RAVENCLAW -
Beater - Christian Wu
Seeker - Gabriella (Alexis) Knightly
Chaser - Mack Stone {Captain}
Keeper - Laurinda Lendon
You do not need to be a part of the official team to participate in this.
HOW IT WORKS -
(In the books) Beater - sends bludgers to the chasers so that they are knocked out of the way of the quaffle.
Seeker - Seeks the golden snitch, ends the game.
Chaser - Gets the quaffle and tries to to put in the three rings (hoops) on either side.
Keeper - Defends the rings (hoops).
[In WWB]
As you can tell Quidditch at WWB will be quite different from in the books but it's going to stay mostly the same as possible too.
Simple (hopefully). There are four houses, but they can't be in one giant match, instead it'll be:
RAVENCLAW vs. SLYTHERIN
GRYFFINDOR vs. HUFFLEPUFF
Beaters - You can actually take away points, with fruits (yes I'm serious). Specific fruits. This is a free-for-all game.
GRYFFINDOR - BANANA
HUFFLEPUFF - PEAR
RAVENCLAW - CHERRY
SLYTHERIN - GRAPES
What these fruits do is they dock points, here's a little help: if you find more than one you automatically gain one extra point for each extra one you get. This is collectively for four days. How many points does it dock? For one: 10 points. For two - 21, for three - 32 etc. Twenty (five of each) will be posted around the board.
Seekers - You have it relatively easy. (In theory.) You have to find an orange.
Four oranges will be placed around the forum, these are worth one hundred points each. So in total: FOUR HUNDRED POINTS. Except one thing: you can't claim more than two. But there's still two hundred points up for grabs!
Chasers - Blueberries! Just like in the books the quaffle (blueberry) is worth ten points. But there's more of them, around twenty will be placed across the forum. It's free for all, so: get all the quaffles - get 200 points.
Keepers - Your job is to defend, and defend you will, but instead of defending against the chasers you're up against the beaters. You're looking for an apple.
What the apple does is eliminate opportunities for the beaters. There are five fruits of four types. Get an apple? Take away a banana/pear/cherry/bunch of grapes. There are seven apples, so, if you're lucky you could cancel out all the fruits for your house.
How long does this last?
A month.
