Andrew was in the library. Not the place that he would rather be but since he was cramming to finish his assignment that was due that afternoon, he had no choice. He was never skilled in Potions but he had to try his best to pass the bloody subject so that he wouldn't have his family watch his movements all the time.
"Now where do I find that book?" he asked himself in a whisper as he stood up. He went to one shelf to look for a copy of Advance Potions. He had left his own copy back in his room and he didn't want to go back just to get it.
He moved his fingers through every spine he touched, reading the names of the books as he search for the one he needed. "Where can that book be?" he was getting irritated already. Patience wasn't his best virtue but he had to stretch it out for the sake of his grades.

Andrew turned and saw an irritated young girl. He smiled at her politely and bowed. "My deepest apology for having to take up your precious time. However, I cannot seem to find a copy of Advance Potions on this aisle. I would have asked for the librarians help however you came to my rescue." he told her sweetly.
He turned to face her with his whole body and took her hand in his, "My name is Andrew Sebastian Maxwell. And may I know the name of my beautiful angel?" he asked her as he softly kissed her hand.
Flattery was one of his best skills. Never too much and never lacking. It was always just right. Which is why his closest friends find a shame that he turned out to be gay. Wasting his skills, they say. He thought differently.

Lauri stormed off, marching down an aisle two to the left of where Andrew was looking. The book he wanted just happened to be on the top shelf, there was no way Lauri was going to reach it - she'd met first years taller than her. "It's here!" she called out bitterly, "You're going to have to come and get it yourself though." Lauri would've usually just used her wand to summon the book but she'd left it back at her table.[/ul]

Andrew smiled, not smirked. He didn't want to be rude to his savior. He followed her to the other aisle and looked at the spot she was pointing. Then he looked back at her, still smiling. "You're the daughter of the librarian? That must very advantageous to you, being a student meaning you can borrow books and have extensions without re-precautions." he commented.
He pulled out his wand and summoned the book down. Though he was tall, it was on the top shelf, and Andrew didn't want to stand on his toes. The book floated down right into his hands. He turned back to face Laurinda.
"I hope that you wouldn't judge and brand me to be like the rest of my fellow housemmates. I for one, do not seem to be anything like the regular snakes people tend to hex or send to the hospital wing." he said with a smile.
"You have a really lovely name, Laurinda. Your name seems to come from the word laurel which I must say is a very beautiful flower. Like the owner of the name." he added a sweet compliment. He hope that she was going to smile soon. She was indeed beautiful.

she thought to herself sourly. Lauri was trying her best to just hate this guy for making her blush as well as keeping her from her studies any longer. But, strangely, a part of her would rather stay over here... Lauri couldn't even believe she'd just thought that and her eyes narrowed further. This was not happening. No way. "Of course not." she said in a strained voice, attempting to stay calm but not quite managing it. He had his book now... maybe she should just go? She blushed again. Seriously, what was with this guy and his perfect compliments. "Th-thank you." she stammered, turning away from him and beginning to storm back to her table, "I must really get back to my studies now though."[/ul]

"It seems that I have more to apologize for. I am sorry to have disturbed your study time." he bowed to her. "Please, let me make it up to you by taking you back to your table." he offered her. It was his gentleman side speaking now. Though he was gay, women ought to still be respected.
"It's the least I can do for the help that you have given me and for the fact that i had disturbed you." he added. He noticed the blush that was on her face and couldn't help but smile at her even more. He reached out and brushed his fingers through her cheeks.
"The rush of scarlet in your cheeks make you look more beautiful. You certainly can capture gentlemen's heart without a problem." he told her. She was truly beautiful. Not as beautiful as his mother or sister. But beautiful in her own way.

Andrew looked a little disappointed when Laurinda turned away and went off on her own. She was really cold and a bit tempermental. "Must be because I'm a slytherin." he said and sighed. Why did every person he meets instictly brand him a cold, cruel, and rotten snake?
Didn't people know that it wasn't nice to judge other people? He turned back and went back to his own table. "Too bad that I'm gay... If I were straight I might have actually liked to go out with Laurinda Lendon. But I'm gay so friends is all we can be," he smiled at himself. He was happy just the way he was.
It felt like he'd been in the library ofr hours. He was almost finished with his assignment when he remembered Laurinda. He did owe her for helping him find the book. "I wonder if she would like to have a snack at the Great Hall with me instead." he thought out loud.

Andrew stood up and went to where Laurinda was. "My apologies, Laurinda. I was hoping that if you heard my request, you would have agreed to it. But it seemed to have made you angry." he said with a sad look on his face.
"is there any way I can make it up to you? For disturbing your study time by having to help me. And now making you angry by being a bit too loud." he added.
"This girl ought to be smile more and less angry and tempermental." he thought to himself. She was almost perfect.

but she just couldn't quite bring herself to say it. How could she suddenly stop snapping and shouting at this boy without it seeming like something was wrong? She couldn't. Exactly. Lauri was going with her head, not her heart, as always. Her heart told her to apologise for acting so rudely and ask if he'd want to go and get some food with her but her head was telling her to carry on the way she was now. "There is one thing. You can leave me alone." she snapped, her glare focused on Andrew once again. Lauri didn't mean it really, not at all. But she'd had enough of these strange thoughts and feelings and blushing at all of his compliments for now.[/ul]

Andrew moved in front of her way, stopping her from leaving. "Is that what you really want me to do, Laurinda?" he asked her softly. "You seem to already have judged me because I am of Slytherin House." he said with disappointment. He hated being judged because of his house. It wasn't fair.
He slowly moved out of her, looking sad and hurt that she chose to think of him as the same as the rest of the Slytherins that had ruined and shamed the name of his house.
"If that is what you truly wish, then I must abide by them." he said as he looked straight at her. "It was truly wonderful to have met you, Laurinda Lendon of Ravenclaw house." he added and kissed her hand before her left her alone.
The last thing he wanted was to piss someone off by being pushy.

to the right thing, whatever it meant. So hurried after Andrew before grabbing his forearm, preventing him from leaving. "Listen, I'm sorry. I'm not judging you because of your house... it's just that I was being a bit of a fool. I'd quite like to get a snack with you in the Great Hall..." she admitted, the glare leaving her features. "...if you don't mind, of course." It was worth a shot. At least Lauri hoped so. She'd gone against herself for this... this boy. Someone she'd only just met. Although Lauri came across as despising him, it was really her way of convincing herself that she didn't actually feel charmed by him...[/ul]

Andrew turned and saw Laurinda stopping him from leaving. He smiled at her as she asked him to have a snack at the Great Hall. "It's alright, Laurinda. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes. And you weren't being a fool. You were just being cautious. It happens when your with a slytherin." he told her and turned to face her.
"Of course I don't mind. I would like to have a snack with you." he told her and smiled. He fixed his book bag and turned back to her. "Shall we go then? I hope you won't regret being seen with a slytherin like me? Most people tend to avoid us because we are slytherins and they think we're all the same as the old snakes that used to occupy that house." he explained.
