Al wasn't all glad to be at home. It was just boring to be there without seeing much of his dad or siblings. They weren't all close but as time flew by, he noticed that he spent more and more time alone than with Lily or James. He missed his family. He missed his mom and dad.
He just curled up in the library's sofa. The new house wasn't all that great. it might be big and grand but it was empty. No noise, no shouts or laughter. He preferred the Burrow in some ways. It was always noisy and fun.
"I wonder how dad is doing..." he spoke out loud before releasing a yawn. He was rather tired and decided to take a nap instead. It was better than doing nothing.

Harry came home from the final mission he had taken. he had promised his children that he'd be around more and that he'd have to find time to get to know Draco better and ease him in with everyone. Harry knew that Ron would have a fit when he finds out. But it didn't matter much, Ron will just have to be kind to Draco.
He came and checked every part of the house since it seemed quiet. When he came into the library, he found Albus there, sleeping on the couch. He smiled and conjured a blanket. He was thinking of carrying his son but Albus was no longer that small to be carried. And Harry didn't want to use magic on his children.
"Al?" he softly called out as he stroked his son's messy hair. Truly, James and Albus got their messy hair signature from him. And Harry couldn't love them less.

He didn't noticed but he actually fell asleep. It had been days since he could just lay down and drift off to sleep without having any nightmares. Most of the time, the nightmares were about his dad being hurt during a mission or worse, killed while fighting. Then he felt that someone was calling him.
He awoke and nearly fell off the couch. "DAD!" he shouted and embraced his dad tightly. He was so scared and thought that he was really never going to see his dad again. He pulled away and looking his dad all over. "DAD! Y-you're here! Merlin's--" he hugged his dad again.
"I just had a very nightmare! I thought I was never going to see you again!" he told his dad without letting go. Then he started to cry. He couldn't remember when he last cried but he didn't care. His dad was alive and with him.

To say that Harry was shocked was completely an understatement. Albus was hugging him and looking him all over. And then it hit him, his second son just had a nightmare. Worse, the nightmare was about him dying during a mission. Harry had to smile, his son loved him despite everything that had happened.
"Al, relax a little and catch your breath. I'm fine. I just got back from my last mission and won't be leaving for the whole summer." Harry told his son with a smile as he pulled away.
"I'm sorry that I keep you up at night with such nightmares. But I promise you that this time, it's going to be different. I'll be here for the summer with you, James, and Lily. I even invited Teddy and Andromeda over too. But it'll take a while for them to get here." he said and patted his son's head.

James walked into the library looking for a book to read. While he didn't read a lot, he did like to read sometimes when he was bored. Now was one of those times.
He wasn't sure where Lily or Albus were. He had been getting along better with Lily but he still wasn't all that close with his brother. Truth be told he didn't like that. He missed his siblings a lot. He knew it was more his fault than anyone else's but still, he didn't like it. He vowed to himself that his summer he was going to correct that.
He stopped when he realized he wasn't the only one in the library. He wasn't sure what shocked him more: Albus crying on their father's shoulder or the fact that their dad was there at all. Last James knew their dad was still on a mission somewhere. "H-hi dad, Al. What's going on here? Why is Al crying?" He didn't like seeing his brother cry. He hoped no one caused this. If that was true, he'd have words with however made his brother cry. He was the only one that could upset his brother, it was the rule of siblings.

Harry turned and smiled when his eldest came. "Hey James. Don't worry about Al. His fine. Just had a bad dream about not seeing me ever again. Must have been about me dying while working out on the field." he told James and beckoned him to sit with them on the coach.
"Today was my last job for the summer. I took a long leave to spend time with you guys. I promised that I'd give you my summer, remember?" he reminded James about his promise when they were at Hogwarts before Harry left for his last mission.
Harry was still hugging Al and making him stop crying. "Come on, Albus Potter. Pluck up that Potter spirit and smile for your dad." Harry teased his son. He was going to do everything to be with his children this time around. And that was a promise to himself.

Albus quickly wiped his tears away as his brother sat next to his dad. The last thing Al wanted was to be teased by James. "I'm not crying..." he said as he sniffed and pulled away from his dad. He didn't look at either of them since he knew he still had tears in his eyes. Like every Potter, Al would never admit that he was crying.
"Dad, you better keep your promise this time, alright? That you'd spend time with us? It's been so long and with everything that just happened, time is what we all need." Al said as he turned to face his dad and brother.
"Maybe, one of these days, we can invite Mr. Malfoy over for dinner. He can even bring his kids so that he won't feel like he'll be surrounded by too many Potters. I promise to be on my best behavior for you, dad." he told his dad and smiled. "We'd do anything to make you happy, dad."
"You of all people deserve to be happy. You've been the greatest dad any Potter can ask for." Al gave his dad a hug. "Right, James?" Al smiled at his older brother for support.

James looked at his dad like he grew another head. "You said that way too casually for my taste. He's your son for Merlin's sake. Shouldn't you care a little more when he has a dream like that. We all have them you know. You don't know how many times I've heard Al and Lily screaming at night." He looked down at his shoes. "Or how many times I've had it," he mumbled.
He sat down next to his dad as he once again listened to the promise. It wasn't the first time he had promised to spend more time with them. He was trying to believe his dad. He wanted it to be true more than he would like to admit. If he wanted to fix their relationship, he would have to believe him. "You better keep your word this time."

Harry pulled James into a hug too. "I'm sorry. That didn't come out right. It sounded way better in my head." he joked. "But I am sorry to have cause you to have nightmares. I am keeping my word this time, James. Today is the start of our family summer vacation. Even Teddy and Andromeda will be over in a few days." he told them with a smile.
"Time for me to make up for the lousy years I had been as a dad to you three." he told them. Harry turned to Albus, "Draco and that dinner can wait. We have time for that soon. Besides, I want to spend time with my kids first. Then you guys can plan the dinner with the Malfoys." he told them.
Harry smiled at Albus, "Thanks son. But one of the things that can make me the happiest dad in the world is having my kids with me for the summer. Even your mum promised to stop by for a few days to spend time with us." he told them. "Come on, guys. Are we just going to be all sad on the first day of our family vacation?" he teased them.

ALbus couldn't help but hug his dad again. He was just glad that he would get to spend some time with his dad and siblings. They hadn't had one for a long time. And to top it off, their mum was going to visit as well. Al couldnt ask for anything else. And he was already planning a dinner in his head for his dad and Mr. Malfoy.
"Dad, Mr. Malfoy will soon be part of our family as you friend so we might as well invite them too. No harm in that right? I'm sure James and Lily wouldn't mind keeping Scor and Dria company. We'll be nice to them, I promise." Al gave him a big grin and turned to his brother for support.
"Right James? We'll keep Scorpius and Alexandria company and behave while Mr. Malfoy is here, right?" he asked his brother. He just wanted his dad to be happy.

James actually liked the plans for the summer. Having Teddy and Andy here would be fun. He loved hanging out with Teddy though he never got to spend enough time with him, especially since he worked at the Ministry. He was kinda jealous of his dad because he gets to see him all the time since he was Head of Teddy's department. "I'll be happy to see them again. I miss them a lot." He was also happy that his mom might stop by. He missed her too.
He was ok with putting off the dinner with the Malfoys. He wanted his dad to himself, well him and his siblings. He wanted to really be closer to his dad and that would only happen if they spent time together.
He looked at his brother. He wanted him to promise to be nice. With Mr. Malfoy he could do that but his son and daughter...that was pushing it. Why did Albus care so much anyways? Gah! This sucked! He knew he had to agree or both his dad and brother would be on his case. "Right..." that was as good as they were getting.

Harry smiled at James had agreed to Al's request. The only one missing now was Lily. Harry wondered where she was and what she was doing. He smiled back at his boys and tilted his head, "I'm not saying that I'm against the dinner thing, but why are you so intent on having the Malfoy's have dinner with us, Al?" Harry asked out of curiosity.
And James was being a good older brother by agreeing to Al with such a simple request. Truly, Harry couldn't have asked for better children. His own children were all amazing in their own ways which never ceased to amaze him. He chuckled lightly at them both.
"Since summer has began, tell me what you boys what us to do while we await for the arrival of Andromeda, Teddy, and your mother. And where is Lily?" Harry asked them both.

Al smiled at his dad, "Because your my dad. I'd want you to be happy. We know your happy being with us but its entirely different when your happy with someone who can make you smile in ways we can't. And you know what I mean." Al said as he beamed at his dad then turn to James.
"Take James for example, his dating the ice queen of Slytherin and she's making him smile in ways that we can't." Al turned to his brother, "I want to see you guys happy and if I have to plan a dinner or party for your special people, then I'll gladly do so. Besides, James here has made the most amazing achievement this year, turning the legendary ice queen to a smiling girl." Al joked around and laughed lightly.
He had heard stories about Blaze and her cousin Alexis of Ravenclaw and that being said, it was enough to say that James Sirius Potter had done Hogwarts a huge favor.

Harry was glad to have James and Albus as his children. He couldn't have asked for more. Lily as well. They were perfect in their own ways. "Thank you, Al. It means a lot to me that you care for my happiness. And again, having you as my children is enough. Draco is an added bonus to me." He said and chuckled as he gave his two sons a hug.
Then he pulled away and turned to James, "Really Al... What else have you heard about James. Legendary Ice Queen?" Harry laughed. "That sounds like Draco when we were younger. He was the Slytherin Ice Prince then. But his a whole lot different now. Which makes me glad." Harry patted James.
"Why haven't you told me, James? I for one would not shut you out because this Blaze is a Slytherin. Not at all. I wish to meet her soon, alright? If she is the person Al says, then she muct be really interesting." harry encouraged James.

James glared at his brother. He was going to hex him when he father turned his back. "You just had to open your mouth didn't you." he hissed at his brother.
He turned to his father. "I knew you wouldn't be mad because she's a Snake as Mr. Malfoy is one. I didn't mention it because it isn't important. Blaze and I haven't been together long. I wasn't going to tell you until I knew it would last. If I told you about everyone I liked and/or dated, well you would be hearing about it all the time."
He didn't think Blaze needed to meet his family yet. It was too soon. Plus, his family was a little disorganized with his father dating and his mother never around. "Nah, I don't think you need to meet her yet. I don't want to scare her off."
