Blake entered the Three Broomsticks hoping to have a sip of Butterbeer before he headed back to the castle. He had bought a few things for himself like sweets and a few others that caught his eye. He saw that there was only one table left vacant and he knew that it was destined to be for him.
He went and placed his bags and went to the counter to buy a mug for himself. He was thinking about the coming week that was going to be both fun and challenging for him. He was going to win and he knew it well. There was no way around it.
"She better get ready." he thought to himself. He was truly confident about winning. Besides, he said it himself, she was worth the effort. And more valuable than the others he had met and flirted with. He smirked to himself as he took a sip of his Butterbeer.

Andrew quickly entered the Three Broomsticks to run from the chilly air the early sunset was giving away. Despite wearing a jacket and gloves, he was still cold to his bones. He scanned the room and saw that it was nearly full. There wasn't a vacant seat available anywhere. He wondered if he had to leave and face the cold chill again.
Then he saw a vacant seat near the wall. However, the other seat opposite to the vacant one was occupied. He sighed and hoped the other occupant wouldn't mind sharing the table. Andrew walked across the room, trying to avoid hitting and bumping into anyone all the while.
"Excuse me, do you mind sharing the table? Everywhere else is full." he asked politely. He hoped the guy wouldn't buzz him off. However, he studied the face of the other and thought, "I know this guys from somewhere... Now where have I seen him?" he asked mentally. He was really familiar.

Blake looked up and saw a guy asking to use the empty seat across him. The guy seemed familiar. "He must be from Hogwarts... I wonder which house he belongs to?" he asked himself mentally. "Sure, go ahead. I'm alone anyway." he said as he took the bags he had placed on the empty chair. Then he took a sip of his ButterBeer.
"I'm Ashton Blake Parker, Blake for short. Seventh Year of Ravenclaw House. You seem familiar. You are?" he asked just as soon as he finished introducing himself. Knowing he was sitting with was a way of being polite since the table was small and that they were going to share it. It would be awkward if he didn't say anything else aside from agreeing to give the empty seat away.
In Blake's view, the guy seemed tall, handsome and refined. He was surely a pure blood like him. Half bloods and muggle borns were usually noisy, messy, and shy. This guy seemed to know how to conform to the surroundings. A pure blood characteristic that would always come in handy in situations such as this.

Andrew hid his surprise when the other male actually introduced himself and asked for his name. Andrew could have lived without grudge if the other didn't talk to him even. They were just going to share a table at the Three Broomsticks once. Meeting him again would have been a coincidence.
But now that Andrew knew who he was, he was sure he was going to meet him again. Andrew sat down and placed his mug down as well. "My name is Andrew Sebastian Maxwell, Andrew for short. We're in the same year then. However, I'm from Slytherin House." he said as he stretched out his hand to Blake. Not all Slytherins were evil rich snobs. He was one of them.
He knew that there were other pure bloods like him who weren't bent on making the lives of the muggle borns and half bloods miserable. He never saw the point really. He would occasionally use one or two muggle born for his own agenda but he never did them harm. He rewarded them when they accomplished the tasks he asked of them.
"Don't be fooled by my house. Not all of the members of the said house are as evil and cold-hearted as people say we are." he told Blake. He seemed comfortable around the other male. "I wonder if he swings my way?' his mind asked him. Andrew tried not to show how surprised he was when his own mind asked him such a question.
"What? There is absolutely nothing wrong with thinking such. You never know, he might actually bat for your team. But for now, just share the table. That's it. And be nice." his mind reminded him. To show his agreement, he smiled politely at Blake, not a fake smile at that. His hand was still outstretched, waiting to be accepted.

Blake shook Andrew's outstretched hand. The guys seemed alright. Blake knew better than to judge someone from how they look. Not everyone is what they appear to be. He smiled back at the guy and took back his hand.
"If your from Slytherin, surely you know Blaze Livington. That woman would be hard to miss." he joked as he took a sip of his Butterbeer. "Don't worry, I don't judge people from what house they come from. I'm better than that. Behinds, I wouldn't like it when someone judges me for who they see I am." he told Andrew.
He was being honest and polite to the other occupant of the table. It wasn't being too nice. He just grabbed the opportunity to have someone to talk too while he was there as well. And Andrew seemed like an alright bloke. But Blake had a nagging feeling. He didn't know what it was but he knew it was there. He had to throw it at the back of his mind for now. It would be rude to think of something else while engaging someone else a conversation.

Andrew knew that at some point, a straight guy would ask about Blaze Livington of Slytherin House. Not only was she a pure blood, rich, and beautiful, she was the snakiest Slytherin Hogwarts has had since the time of the Dark Lord. That was in Andrew's point of view. Despite being beautiful, she was cold and cruel. The perfect Slytherin princess Blaze is.
Andrew took a sip of his drink before answering, "Of course I know her. Who wouldn't? Sophia Blaze Livington is both famous for her beauty and cold personality. When one meets her, she makes sure that they remember for the rest of their lives. She lands a mark on everyone she tends to meet." Andrew began.
He had heard rumors of her cousin, Alexis Knightly, dating a Gryffindor. How true the rumor is, Andrew has yet to know. But he knew that whoever would dare to court Blaze was in for storm in a kettle. She would certainly be a handful to anyman. Luckily, Andrew was gay so he didn't care much.
"Why do you ask?" he began to ask. "Please do not think ill of me, however, do I sense an interest on that particular snake?" he added.

Blake was sure that Andrew's intuition was sharper than a normal guy. For him to have sensed that within the first question was beyond Blake. But he had to show he wasn't surprised at all. Like it was normal to ask such a thing. He took another sip of his beer ans sighed.
"Interest... Yes... Since the first time I saw her. However, she has been resistant to my charms and words. I'm not saying that I'm being overly confident, but every girl in this castle would bend Heaven and Hades to go out with me while Blaze wouldn't even bat an eye lash." he spoke slowly and in a low voice. He didn't want anyone hearing their conversation.
Blake turned to look at Andrew, "Do you think there is something wrong with me?" he asked Andrew. Though he doubted the guy could give an honest answer. It was the first time they would be meeting so how would Andrew judge him and be honest? Blake sighed again.

Andrew raised a brow. He didn't know why Blake actually asked him that question. He ought to know that Andrew might not actually be able to give him an honest answer. It was their first meet, Blake seemed to have forgotten that bit of information. Andrew sighed as he saw an acquiantance being down and sad. Andrew didn't do sad.
"I have to be honest here. I'm in no position whatsoever to say whether there is something wrong with you or not. However, this much I can tell... You have a very serious complex that needs to be taken care of. So what if one girl didn't fall for your charms? She's just one girl. There are other choices out there." he said.
"Yeah, more better choices. Like me." Andrew's mind sang. Andrew tried his best not to change expressions. He was trying to be sympathetic and stern at the same time. This was not an easy feat. Even for a Slytherin.

Blake knew Andrew's answer was along that line. And he knew already that it was the closest answer to honesty the guy could give him. He sighed and became gloomier than he did earlier. "I wish wasn't attracted to women now. they're so hard to understand and patience would always have to be stretched beyond its limits." he said. He didn't know whether he meat what he said or just said it because he was frustrated with Blaze Livington.
Then he remembered the bet he made with her. He became more troubled now. "Argh! I hate this! And to think that this week is the mark of my heel-on-earth challenge week." he said. He was really frustrated now. How could he have forgotten the bet he had. He was going to lose everything if Blaze won. Blake couldn't possibly let that happen. He would not only be losing face but his reputation as well.

Andrew tried his best to remain calm and not hex the idiot in front of him. "Try to get a hold of yourself, Parker. We are in a public place and everyone might think that I broke up with you or something along those lines." Andrew hissed, trying to conceal his anger.
"How dare you take homosexuality that lightly? Do you have any idea how much more complicated homosexual relationships are?" Andrew began a hissy lecture. He coouldn't let Blake take lightly that being in love with another was easier than being in love with a woman.
This was what Andrew hated: straight mens fast turn to homosexuality because they couldn't take the hurt they receive from women. He truly detested such men. "You have no idea Parker how hard it is to maintain a relationship with other man while remaining dicreet and below the prying eyes of society." he told Blake.
Andrew had been there. He knew how hard it was to have such relationships. The kind that the wizarding world was not open to. In the muggle world, it was normal as the sun raising from the east and settling west. Andrew's eyes were full of hatred and rage.

Blake's eyes widen in shock and fear when Andrew hissed at him and gave a stern lecture. He wasn't really sure why Andrew was all mad about him stating it was better to be gay than straight. Blake was about to not really care but then Andrew's word's began to process in his mind.
"How dare you take homosexuality that lightly? Do you have any idea how much more complicated homosexual relationships are?... You have no idea Parker how hard it is to maintain a relationship with other man while remaining dicreet and below the prying eyes of society..." Andrew's voice rang through his head.
It was just then that Blake understood why Andrew was mad about Blake's statement. Blake's eyes met with Andrew's eye that were filled with anger. "I- Andrew... I am so so sorry! I d-didn't mean to take anything lightly! I swear." Blake pleaded.
He didn't want to make an enemy of a Slytherin. Especially not a Maxwell. Despite not having the Head of the Family, the Maxwell name still held valuable connections within the Ministry in England and outside. Blake was now scared that he might have actually angered the future head of the clan.

He tried to remember how to calm down. He didn't want to burst out in anger at someone who didn't even know that he offended someone. How would Blake know that Andrew was gay to begin with? He didn't seem like the typical gay man who acted so soft and whiny, almost like a woman would be.
Andrew cluthced his fist as tight as he could so that his anger would subside faster. He then took a deep breath and exhaled. He could feel the fear coming from Blake. And as the apology began to process in Andrew's anger filled mind, the feeling began to die down. It wasn't Blake's fault. Not entirely.
"Lastly, never again, should you say that being gay is easier. It's more harder and complicated than staright men like you think." he added before drinking down his Butterbeer.
Andrew crossed his legs and sighed with frustration. "I guess I can forgive you since you were simply filled with frustration when you spoke those words." he began. Andrew stared Blake straight in the eyes, "However, I must warn you to refrian from speaking of this matter to anyone else. No one at Hogwarts know about my sexual... Preference and I intend to keep it that way." he warned Blake.

Blake sighed in relief. He didn't want to make his new acquaintance mad at him too. The guy was nice enough to listen to him rabble about his frustrations. Blaze was really a handful. He wondered what about did he like in the first place. She certainly wasn't into him from his point of view.
"Thanks." he said with a smile. He felt at peace after talking to Andrew. He seemed to have made him feel better. He smiled inwardly at himself. Andrew seemed to be having a good effect on him. And he liked it. Being calm and all.
Then he snapped in his mind. Did he just feel at peace with Andrew? He tried to hide his mental argument. "I'm sure as I'm a Ravenclaw that I'm NOT gay!" he scream in his mind. "However, since you feel at peace, you might actually swing both ways." his thought told him.
Swing both ways? How does that even work? Blake was suddenly confused and troubled. How can the guys in front of him have that much influence on him? They just met for Hogwart's sake!

Andrew wondered what Blake was thinking that very moment. he found it a bit rude that the guy was spacing out on him in the middle of their conversation. Andrew knew there as only one way to snap him out. he cleared his throat loud enough for Blake to hear.
"You know, they say that it's rude to space out in the middle of a conversation." he spoke, trying to capture Blake's attention again. What was wrong with him? Whatever he was thiking must be really important or heavy.
"By the way, whatever it is your going through now, is it that troublesome that you actually thought it was better for you to have been gay that being straight?" he asked politely. "I don't mean to pry but it seemed that way to me." he added.

Blake sighed and attempted to finish his drink in one go but failed. He gasped for air. "Yes, it is that heavy." Blake knew that his face was starting to burn red. He was never good when it came to drinking. To think that it was just Butterbeer he was gulping down.
"Ya know... I don't undershtand why she's shhhooooo mad at me. I didn't do her wrong. Never..." he began. He finished his drink again and grabbed Andrew's mug. He wanted to drown himself. He was a lousy drinker and that was a fact.
He took another swig at the drink. "I know I'm not gay... But..." he turned to stare at Andrew. The was simply gorgeous and Blake was starting to have a hard time controlling his thoughts about the guy opposite him.
