Chase laughed, leave it to Alex to come up with some kind of fashion statement that involved wearing a collar. That was just kind of weird. "Don't let Brent see you in that. I don't think he would ever stop laughing." Chase chuckled. Alex was really cuddly tonight. It didn't seem like he wanted to let Chase go. Then again, if he got into a fight, then that would explain why.
"Alex... you need to stop drinking so much. It's not good for you, especially if you black out like that and don't remember. I wouldn't want you to get seriously hurt. I don't know what I would do. And what would Reid do?" Chase said as he gently played with Alex's hair underneath his hand. He was really hurting from this. "Yeah sure. A drink sounds good." Chase told him as he watched Alex down one and pour another. Well... that wasn't helping.
Then... Alex said not to tell Reid? "Okay... what's going on here that I don't know? Why wouldn't you want to tell you boyfriend you got hurt? It's not like Reid can do anything if you don't even know who hurt you. He has a right to know." Chase told him seriously. "Besides, I still don't think you're telling me the whole story. I can tell when you're lying."

Alex bowed his head in embarrassment when Chase predicted that Brent would just laugh at his new "fashion accessory". That'd be just what Alex would need right now... to be laughed at on top of how bad he felt towards the collar. He wanted badly to ask Chase to try magicking it off... but then Alex could already imagine the torrent of questions his friend would drown him in: then where's your wand? Who put it on? Why did you let them? Did you even let them? Alex almost groaned out loud just thinking about it.
After Chase's little lecture about drinking, Alex looked guiltily down at his mug. The truth was he had been drunk last night. Last night... it felt so long ago. The man wondered if he had been in a decent state whether the outcome would of been a different one. His reflexes wouldn't of been so sluggish and he wouldn't of thought twice hexing Jackie into next week. "It was just a one-off... it won't happen again. I'm not that bad when I drink." It hurt Alex to say this because he knew there was going to be a next time. Maybe not tonight, maybe not tomorrow, but, someday, he was going to bump into Jackie again. The Spaniard willed away this unnerving thoughts with another dose of whiskey, pouring himself and Chase one afterwards.
"Exactly, Chase. He can't do anything about it... he cares for me, he really does, Reid cares for me. So... not being about to help won't make him happy. It'll just make him worry. I don't want that. What... what he doesn't know won't hurt him." Alex was relaxing into Chase's hands, finding him stroking his hair comforting. Then the sickening nickname of "pet" Jackie had for him passed through his head. Alex didn't want to be petted by Chase any more after that. He pulled away from him and hunched over his glass, making sure his blanket was wrapped around him like a cocoon.
Chase was right. Alex was lying. He was missing out a huge part of the story. If his friend carried on like this the Spaniard knew he was going to crumble and confess to everything. But he couldn't. He just couldn't. Chase already thought that he couldn't care for himself after a few drinks, what would he think if he knew there was a perverted stalker after his butt? "Chase... can we stop talking about the attack?" Wrong choice of words there. Stupid alcohol, loosening his tongue. "Well... fight. Not attack. You know what I mean. Fuck... I should... really eat something."

Chase didn't like this. He didn't like how he knew Alex was lying to him, yet he wouldn't tell him anything. Chase wanted to help. He wanted to know the full story so he could be able to help more than he was right now apparently. The way Alex backed away from him touching his hair like that. The collar. Chase knew that Alex wouldn't wear a collar like that. It was weird and not Alex.
"Alex. I'm not stupid... I know you're lying and I know you're hiding something big from me. I just want to help. I don't like being left in the dark." Chase told him in an almost whisper. He really couldn't stand seeing Alex this way.
Chase leaned forward with Alex on the couch and moved his hand from Alex's shoulder to his waist. "I love you Alex. I don't like seeing you clearly hurt. You know I don't like seeing people hurt. Especially my best friends."

It pained Alex to hear hurt in Chase's whisper. His friend knew he was lying and still Alex was denying telling him what he needed to know. Alex was a terrible friend. He gulped down the amber liquid and set his mug on the coffee table, leaning into Chase when he snaked his hand onto his waist. "Chase... there's this... man." Alex began, looking over at the armchair where Tootie lay curled up, sleeping placidly. "I-I thought it was just me... just being paranoid..."
Alex glanced over at his friend, debating with himself whether this was a good idea telling Chase everything. Well, not everything, but what he needed to know. Alex went to go for his mug again but hesitated. He was drinking a lot recently. And it wasn't like he was drinking right now because he wanted to enjoy a drink in his friend's company. It was just to make him feel better in a way and welcome sleep easier. That... wasn't good. "He...He won't leave me alone, Chase!" Alex blurted out from between his fingers, his eyelashes were heavy with tears and his breathing came in quick bursts. "I-I came back to my flat... after going out for drinks... he-he was here, Chase! ...He was here. In my flat."

Chase was glad it seemed Alex was finally telling him what happened. Sort of. He wasn't trying to pass it off anymore, and that was a good thing at least. But... this guy was full out creeping on Alex and Chase wasn't going to stand for it. Not his best friend. "It's okay. I'll make sure you're okay." Chase whispered. Why couldn't he have come a bit earlier... then maybe he could have stopped the dude and Alex wouldn't have been so freaked out.
"Do you know who it was, Alex?" Chase asked him. If he knew... then that man wouldn't be living for much longer. Not after hurting Alex. "What did he do to you, Alex." Chase asked him since he never got a dull answer before on what he did. He didn't think it was as simple as just a physical fight.

Alex knew Chase was going to make sure he'd be okay. It was Chase. But Alex wasn't entirely convinced, what could his friend even do? Just stick around and wait for Jackie to appear? But, nevertheless, Alex found comfort in Chase's words. Upset, he turned around and clinged onto Chase, letting his shirt soak up any escaping tears.
"I-I'm not sure who it was..." Alex lied. "He was a wizard... he disguised himself." At first. Chase would probably remember who Jackie was if Alex told him. After all, he had dragged the man to band practice many years ago and, from what he had found out the day after, he had made quite a scene about it.
"He... He made... He..." Alex began to shake with silent sobs, he lifted a quivering hand and pointed at the apron in the corner. "Made... me cook. He h-hit me... strangled me... and... a-a pan... I was out hours." He gulped noisily and wiped his damp face on Chase's shirt. He pulled away once again and huddled over himself, toying with his mug in his hands. He looked guilty for what had happened.
"He... touched me... as well."

Chase was still pretty sure Alex was lying to him about not knowing who it was, but decided to drop it. He'd find out somehow, and he would kill him. No one messed with Alex, and Chase was going to make sure of that. He let Alex cry into his shirt. He didn't care.
"He touched you?!" Chase said after Alex told him that. "Okay... you're coming with me for a while. I'm not letting you sleep her by yourself. You come with me, or you tell Reid and he stays with you at all times." Chase told him sternly. He didn't want Alex to get even more hurt than he already was. The only way to make sure of that was to have someone with him at all times.
Chase took his other hand and wrapped it under Alex's knees. He lifted him up and held him close to himself as he carried him to the bedroom. "Come on. You need to sleep more, and definitely not drink." Chase said as he took one hand off Alex to pull the blankets back, then set him down and pulled the blankets up over Alex. Chase then went around and got in the bed on the other side. Getting under the covers and putting an arm around Alex, inviting him to cuddle with him. Chase wasn't going to leave his side all night.

Alex couldn't believe he had such a good a friend as Chase. He honestly felt like he didn't deserve him. He had brought all this on himself. This was payback for not caring who he hurt he what he did back when he was a teenager. "No... not Reid... He can never find out." Alex whispered, looking up at Chase with wide, honey brown eyes. "He can't, Chase, he can't find out. He... It... He'll feel bad."
Alex rolled over on the bed to nestle into Chase's chest. He didn't care how weird this would look should anyone come home. All he wanted now was to feel secure. Alex peered up at Chase once again, spluttering as he swallowed nervously. "He has my wand..." He admitted before disappearing down under the blankets again. "He took it... if I'm good I'll get it back."
This was sickening. If he was good he'd get it back. This was so wrong. Why did Jackie have to come strolling back into his life? Everything had been going perfectly until he showed up once again. "And this... he put it on me... it won't come off, Chase. Jackie says I'm his p... pe... pet."

Chase supposed he could see where Alex was coming from. He didn't think he would be able to tell Brent if something like that happened to him. "Okay... but then you have to make up an excuse to come stay with me for a bit." Chase told him in a whisper. "How about... we have to plan the wedding? Something like that." Chase said offhandedly. They could make up a lie that wouldn't seem too bad. Chase thought they could at least.
"You don't need it. We'll go and get you a new wand in the morning. Don't worry about it." Chase murmured to him. Chase would buy him the fucking wand if he had to. He didn't want Alex to have to go anywhere near that man again. "He put that on you?!" Chase said, immediately going to the collar on his neck with his hands. "Do you want me to see if I can get it off by magic?" Chase asked him. Chase held him closer, not wanting to ever let go.

Alex really didn't want to lie to Reid of all people but what other choice did he have? It was either lie or tell Reid everything that had happened. While the latter would be the right thing to do, Alex wasn't sure how his fiancé would take it. As he had said before to Chase, what he didn't know, wouldn't hurt him.
"Yeah... but... I'll actually help to plan it... I'm alright when it comes to planning things." That way instead of lieing, it would be more like omitting the truth. Besides, if it ended up being a double wedding Alex wouldn't let anyone plan it without him supervising. It had to be perfect. Thought of the wedding made a small smile tickle his lips for a second. It was something to look forward to.
"Chase... I want... need that wand. I've had it for fifteen years. I don't want another one." Alex had been through many things with his ebony and peacock feather cored wand. It wasn't so much the material value of it but the sentimental value that Alex missed sorely. It couldn't be replaced with another. "My wand's older than our friendship, Chase... maybe we could get it back?"
Alex flinched when Chase went for the collar, bringing his own hands up to make sure his friend didn't accidentally tighten the thing or hurt him. "Yeah, Jackie did." He whispered meekly. "I-I've tried getting it off... without magic, obviously. I don't know if it'll work... but try... please." Alex couldn't stand the feel of the leather brushing his neck any longer, it felt uncomfortable forever having something lightly press his Adam's apple whenever he swallowed.

[/i] of a hissy fit when some professor had strutted in, dumped another pile of papers on top of the ones Brent was already marking and demanded that they were not their responsibility since most of the students taking their class were Ravenclaws. Of course, Brent was having none of that and ended up throwing the papers at the other professor, scattering them across his office floor, giving them a rather large piece of his mind then storming out before he did anything else even more idiotic and immature. Summer just wouldn't come soon enough. When he couldn't find Chase after walking around the castle, (which had calmed him down considerably) Brent decided to go with the assumption he was at Alex's. Nine out of ten times when Brent assumed that, he was right. He had to hope that this wasn't one of those times where he was wrong though; there was clearly still the possibility of that happening. Once he'd apparated to right outside the door of Alex's apartment, Brent considered knocking then went with just inviting himself in. It wasn't as if he'd actually knocked before, was it? Closing the door behind him, Brent stepped inside then made his way to Alex's bedroom, hearing voices coming from that direction. "Guys? What's up?" he frowned upon seeing an obviously ill -or perhaps injured- Alex being comforted by Chase. He'd missed something important. Again.[/color][/ul]

Chase normally would have been excited about talking about the wedding, but not right now. He was too upset about Alex getting attacked that he didn't want to think about it. The only thing that mattered was making sure Alex was okay. "I'll see what I can do about getting your wand back, Alex.... but you still need one in the meantime. You can't go to work without a wand." Chase told him. It wasn't possible for a wizard to do anything in a day without a wand, was it? It wasn't for Chase.
"Wait... Jackie?" There was no possible way that it was Jackie... the man Chase had just ran into in the broomsticks? The man that had been incredibly fucking creepy? Well shit... Chase should have seen that one coming.
He was about to ask if Jackie was the one that attacked him when Brent walked in the room. Chase was kind of afraid at first that Brent might be mad he was cuddling another man in bed, but it was Alex. Brent clearly saw that there was something wrong. Chase didn't know if Alex wanted Brent to know, so he just simply said, "Alex isn't feeling well..." Before moving him and Alex over a bit and taking one hand to pat the bed on the other side of him. "Come cuddle with us, Boo." Chase told him before giving him a look that said not to ask too many questions and just get over here.

Brent's timing couldn't be more perfect. Just after Chase had realized who Jackie was he had pushed open the door to his bedroom. Everyone really had a thing for just barging into his house, didn't they? Reid, Chase, Jackie and now Brent. Alex didn't mind that his friends did this but... maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to step up the security in his house if he wanted to keep creeps like Jackie out.
"Yeah... not feeling too good." Alex mumbled, thankful that Chase didn't go ahead and blurt "Alex got attacked in his own home." The Spaniard thought he would've died should Chase of said that. Remembering what his friend said about Brent laughing to no end at the forced "fashion accessory", Alex wrapped the blankets up around his ears and gave Brent a weak smile. It was smile nonetheless. He patted the bed next to him as an invitation that he snuggled, too. Brent did look kinda tired.
"Work stressing you out?" Alex managed a dry laugh that stung his throat. "Come here and tell us."

Chase smiled over Alex to Brent when he snuggled into the side other than Chase's side. Brent could probably tell something was wrong, it was kind of obvious. "I think everyone at Hogwarts is stressing out right now. With the end of the year and everything. Can't wait till summer." Chase said smiling. He wanted to tell Brent he found the perfect house, but decided it could wait until after Alex was terrified to death and they were all on his bed cuddling him.
Chase moved back over to give Brent room on that side. Now all they needed was for Reid to march in the room and come cuddle with them too. Now wouldn't that just be perfect, having one big cuddling session. It might make Alex feel better. One thing was for sure, Chase wasn't going to forget about how Alex had said Jackie.
"So what did ya do?" Chase smirked over at his boyfriend before looking down to make sure Alex's head was still on his chest and couldn't see his mouth. He forced the words "I love you" on his lips to Brent, wanting more than anything to kiss him. He also wanted Alex to feel better. Chase gently moved his hand back and forth on Alex's shoulder where his hand was wrapped around him.
