This wasn't weird. It wasn't weird perching in animagi form on the railing to the balcony of some guy that you haven't seen in thirteen years. This wasn't weird at all...
Maybe it was a bit.
Jackie's social skills left much to be desired but he didn't care much. All he cared for was getting a glimpse of what had became of the young man that had wooed him many a year ago. Jackie was curious to know if he was still the party-goer, if he was still as unpredictable, if he was as still as carefree. Maybe he had grown up some and had a job... maybe he had a serious relationship... or maybe he was still flitting between beds. Jackie had so many questions.
Jackie ruffled his grey plumage and preened himself while he waited for something to happen. It wasn't like he had anything better to do. And he had no idea how to start a "normal" conversation with Alex. Oh hey, we had a crazy weekend together during NEWTs, remember me? Jackie cringed inwardly. He had done quite a few things that he wasn't exactly pleased about. But most of those things he didn't regret either.
Jackie the wood pidgeon made a hoohoo-hoo noise and strutted along the balcony. It was a bit late now. The sun had sank deep into the horizon a couple of hours ago. Surely Alexander would be back soon.

Alex had called it an early night tonight for it being Saturday. Only because he was well and truely smashed enough to last him the rest of the night. Just as well Reid wasn't going to be in his house tonight. Alex wouldn't blame him if he didn't approve. It wasn't like Alex had honestly expected his night to end like this. It was just a drink after work with his colleagues. They were all bonding. Well, "just one drink" turned into two... and two into four... and so on and so forth until Alex couldn't apparate home without risk of splinching.
"We caaaame as mad as rabbits..." Alex slurred sang quietly as he spilled into his living room. "With bushels of bad... bad habits..." He kicked off his shoes into the corner and began to peel off any unneeded clothing - scarf, waistcoat, socks, etc. Toes mindlessly playing with the soft carpet under his feet, Alex began to peer about his living room with a frown.
"Tootie..." He mumbled, searching for his cat. He found her sat in front of the patio door, staring at some bird. Alex snickered and tottered over to her for a snuggle. "Silly cat... you're too fat to hunt that... You should know that pigeons are flying rats..."

Jackie's breath caught in his throat when Alexander stumbled into his house. He looked quite inebriated. He guessed some things never really changed. The brief fling he had had with the teenage Alexander had passed in a cloud of drink. By the looks of it his habits died hard. Jackie made a hoohoo-hoo noise and followed Alex's movements as he tottered about his house. He carried himself with little grace but it was still beautiful. Alex was certainly something else.
He took offense at the pidgeon comment. Jackie was no grimy rat with wings like the ones easily found in Trafalgar Square. He fluffed his (well groomed) feathers and bobbed his head defiantly. Jackie was no common pidgeon... but Alexander wasn't exactly thinking straight right now anyway. He supposed he could forgive him. He definitely seemed like a nice person since he was hugging a cat. Maybe he was still the affectionate little thing that he had had the pleasure of knowing those years back.
Jackie watched the younger man hug his cat with an inward smile; it was a rather tender scene to behold. Alexander seemed so sweet like this, it made Jackie wish he could just pick him up and put him in his pocket. He'd care for him. The Spaniard seemed so delicate that if he tripped, it seemed like he would break. His skin was so pale that bruises and red blemishes would be easy to pick up on. And his neck... it was so slender that Jackie felt like it would be possible to hold Alex's life in just one hand.
The pidgeon suddenly shook his head. He was getting carried away. Jackie glanced Alex's way one more through the pane of pristine glass. Maybe... just maybe... he would open a window in a while. Jackie was curious to hear how puberty had treated Alexander's vocal chords.

Tootie usually would of attempted to pull away from Alex's drunken snuggles but she was too fixated on the pigeon to even try to make a move. She stared at it unblinkingly with deep, jade eyes. It took Alex a little longer than a few moments to realize he was being completely ignored.
"Hmph... so that's how it is?" Alex grumbled, glancing over in the direction of the grey bird. He narrowed his eyes at it and then looked down at Tootie. Her tail was flicking from side to side yet the rest of her sable body was still as stone. She really wanted that bird or something.
"Fine... vete a por el puto pájaro." Alex pulled himself up to his feet with a dangerous wobble and slid his patio door open. "Gonna go shower... then sleep." The young man stretched and plodded over to his bathroom, talking to Tootie as if she were human were one of the things that had kept him sane in a way. It was as if he had someone to just blab everything to. Just as well she couldn't exactly go to other humans and spread certain things Alex had told her. It'd probably just be awkward.
Alex closed the bathroom door behind him with a small click of the handle. Tootie warily approached the bird, her body pressed as low as it would go against the carpet, stalking it and creeping closer as silently as she could.

If Jackie didn't have an expressionless beak right then he would of smirked. Alexander's voice sounded just as he imagined it'd sound like - soft and with a light Spanish purr. It was lovely on his ears. With the young man gone for his shower, Jackie waited for the cat to enter the balcony. Was this cat stupid? She was there plain in sight and still expected not to be seen. Hopefully she didn't take after her owner. That'd just be disappointing.
Before the black kitty could pounce, Jackie flew into the living room with a flutter and flap of his slate coloured wings. Quick as he could, he reverted back to his human form and slid the door shut; shutting the cat outside. Jackie turned around to get a better look at Alexander's apartment. It was tiny. And there was no furniture that honestly caught his eye. It was all on the plain side. Jackie shook his head slowly and stealthily walked about to snoop some.
A few minutes later, Jackie had spotted Alex's healer cloak, a photo of him and his bearded partner, another of the band, one of him snuggling the cat now trapped on the balcony and other bits and bobs of no relative importance. If Jackie remembered well a Healer's salary was rather decent; so why was he living in this shoebox? And Alex looked genuinely happy with Reid. That was nice. Jackie had feared that Alex had let himself go with drink, drugs and such. Not that Alexander was that type of guy. But it was something Jackie had always wondered.
Was Reid a nice person to Alex? It looked as though he wasn't feeding him... the boy was as thin as a rail. And Alex was drunk right now, where was Reid? Did he honestly allow him to get smashed by himself? The old Alexander that Jackie had known wasn't exactly one for settling. He was certain that while he had "been" with Jackie he had at least bedded one other person. Jackie remembered with the ghost of a smirk Alex's face when he confronted him about it.
"This is no way to treat a pet, Rutherford.." Jackie tutted to himself, eyeing himself in the mirror as he changed his hair colour to a chestnut brown and his eyes sky blue. Just in case.

Alex held the shower head in one hand and was fiddling with the taps with the other. He wasn't doing too good a job. Alex was getting more water out of the tub than in it and his clothes were getting wet too. He couldn't seem to get the right temperature. Frowning, Alex threw the shower head into the tub and turned off the faucet.
"Fiiiine... I'll bathe tomorrow." Alex told the bath with an angry nod of his head. Staggering up to his feet, he headed over to the bathroom door and promptly walked into his living room. Alex lazily scratched his head and ran his tongue over his teeth - he'd brushed them at least. He hated how they felt when they were dirty. The young man turned around to where there was a mirror hung up to check the state he was in before heading off to bed.
Alex froze.
There was a handsome man in his house. And it wasn't Reid!
Alex was like a animal caught in headlights. He stood there, unmoving. His body didn't want to cooperate. He knew he had to do something - his apartment was most definitely getting burgled! Alex drew a sharp, shaky intake of air and scrabbled in his pocket for his wand.
"Get out of my house!" Alex barked, trying to hide the understandable terror in his voice. Having his wand in his hand comforted him some though. "I-I'll only tell you once!"

Jackie had just finished magically modifying his appearance when Alexander tumbled out of the bathroom. He didn't panic though. This was fine. Jackie remained perfectly calm and the corner of his mouth upturned in a lop-sided smirk. There Alexander was, stood but a couple of strides in front of him. His voice might of barely wavered but Jackie could sense his distress, he could see it in those soft, gentle amber eyes. Jackie breathed in deeply, inhaling the tension and nerves Alexander was radiating.
"Its alright, Alexander." Jackie murmured gently, slowly raising his hands, palms forward. "Don't do anything foolish now..." The man began to run his options through his mind at a breakneck pace. He was a good strategist due to his father's intense training so thinking with logic wasn't a problem. Chess is a board game Jackie would never tire of playing.
As he stood, Jackie let his eyes roam over Alex, lingering on his eyes and his hands. The man was beautiful. A prize that Reid Rutherford better appreciate. But right now, he was drunk. Overpowering him couldn't be too hard. And, let's face it, Alexander didn't look like he had any notable fibre on him. He was a living stick. With sluggish reflexes most probably. Jackie hadn't a clue how much the Spaniard had drank but judging by how he had staggering and spilled all over his flat it had to be quite a bit. Enough for his reflexes to not be up to par most certainly.
"Let's talk this over, pet." Jackie said delicately, lowering his hands once more. "You made Fettuccine Alfredo, didn't you? Why don't... we... talk this over... while we eat..." He spoke slower and slower, gearing himself to make his move.
As fast as anything, Jackie made a swipe at Alex's wand and clamped his other broad hand over his mouth. Something in his head had told him that Alexander wouldn't share his Fettuccine Alfredo with him. And that he wasn't one to be quiet either. Jackie remembered well the boy's stormy temper which was noisy enough to rival claps of thunder. Jackie bit his bottom lip - Alex was too skinny. He felt like he might just snap.

Why, why, why did he have to go out on the piss tonight? If Alex remembered correctly, he hadn't even wanted to go out. But he had been wrangled into it by his colleagues. They were all being friendly all of a sudden. Alex had suspected a surprise visit from the inspector that would also monitor interpersonal relations in the workplace. Earlier on, Alex hadn't minded. Right now... he wished that a single drop of alcohol hadn't passed his lips.
Alex gasped when the intruder lunged for him and quickly cast a spell. Not quick enough though. The man had managed to grip his wrist just before he sent the jinx, making it spiral off into his living room wall. A scorch mark now adorned his wall, plaster dusted the floor and the picture frame that was there before was non-existent.
The young man wriggled about, lifting his arm to push the stranger away by his face, letting his neatly filed nails dig into whatever skin they touched. His other hand was trying desperately to shake off the impressive grip the man had on his wrist. What was happening? Who was this? Alexander suddenly went paler...
How did the man know his name?
This was bad. Terribly bad. Even in his inebriated state he could tell that the situation was grave; This was no random robbery. This man knew his fucking name! Alex tried harder than ever to escape the intruder, choking out "Nene!" whenever he got his mouth free for a moment. Maybe Reid would come? Maybe he had a sixth sense? But why the fuck did he have to go out drinking? Why couldn't he be home snuggled with Reid? Reid, Reid, Reid.

Jackie hissed furiously when he felt Alex's nails dig deeply into his cheek. Stupid pet and his obsessions with staying groomed. His nails were too long and needed a trim. Jackie had to do something about that later. And Alexander wouldn't be quiet. He was being boisterous calling out for his "nene". Jackie found himself immensely irked. Stupid, foolish pet.
The Italian uncovered Alex's mouth. But a split second later that same hand was colliding with the younger man's face. He didn't want to do it hard but at the same time he did. He never liked to hit him in his face. It was too pretty in case there was any lasting damage. But it was also a good way to get through to him. He was being disobedient. "Hush, pet." Jackie growled, prying the wand off Alex and stuffing it into his waistband along with his own. There was going to be no wand-waving tonight. "You going to behave now? I only want to talk."
Jackie caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror from before. Fucking idiot pet. There were four reddened grazes that decorated his jawline, spotted with blood where the boy had actually broken skin. Jackie's expression grew dark. He'd get Alexander to heal that after he had calmed down. Jackie planned to hold him until he'd gotten rid of all this pent-up energy. For someone so drunk, Alex was putting up a real struggle with his arms. Good thing Jackie lifted weights while the other didn't. "You. Are going to calm down right now." Jackie hissed. "Or do you want another?"

Alex should of seen it coming but he didn't expect it. He couldn't do anything when the intruder's hand came into contact with his face, catching him on his cheek and mouth, with a small noise escaping his parted lips. The first feeling was shock, undeniable shock. If he still had any colour in his face it all gone except for the glowing blemish growing by his mouth.
Realizing just what had happened, Alex tried to bring his hand up to assess the damage. But he couldn't. His ebony wand was gone and his wrists had been gathered by the heavy-handed man. Alex could feel himself shaking. He didn't understand. And he didn't know if he wanted to - the man was calling him a pet. Was this... some sort of joke? If it were, it was going too far. Alex tasted the metallic tang of his own blood on his tongue.
"I-I-I..." Alex began to stammer, looking up at the stranger. His eyes were smarting from the sharp pain pulsing in his jaw. And maybe being scared out of his wits wasn't helping. Nor was being pretty drunk.
"I-I-I don't know you!" Alex shrieked, suddenly yanking himself forcibly from the man's grip and bolting for the front door. He'd find Reid. Wherever he was. He'd... catch a muggle bus or something. He didn't need his wand. "Dun... Don't... no quiero hablar!"

Jackie licked his lips and breathed heavily through his nose. It had been too long since he had knocked someone like this. He'd forgotten what it was like to have a sense of power over someone. It was intoxicating. Jackie sighed with a trace of desire lingering in his breath. Alexander was beautiful in a tragic way. His bottom lip was plumping from the hit and there was a trickle of scarlet that threatened to escape from the corner of his mouth. Jackie had been right to assume that Alex bruised easily. The red glow tinged with purple had spread across his jaw. Jackie felt the sudden urge to lightly press his lips to Alex's to taste the red liquid while cupping his reddened skin.
The tender moment didn't last long though. Alexander had taken advantage of Jackie being distracted and had hastily made a dash for the door. All the anger he had felt before came thundering back in waves. Stupid, disobedient pet.
"You know who I am, pet." Jackie hissed, storming after him, looking positively murderous. He removed the spell that modified his appearance, showing Alexander the real Jackie. The Jackie he had known years before. If he remembered.
If Alexander couldn't remember him... Jackie felt as though he would lose it. He cared for the boy on a whole different level. He wanted him to be good for those that had taken a fancy to him. In a way, he supposed he was doing a favor to Reid: he was sorting his partner out. There was nothing worse than a flighty love.
Jackie tackled Alex to the floor and whipped him round so the Spaniard would be looking up at the Italian. "If you don't want to talk about how you misbehave... I'll just...have to..." Jackie didn't finish his sentence. He let his hands. He shuddered on feeling Alexander's smooth skin beneath his hands. And yes, his neck was so thin. Breakable. He squeezed experimentally before tightening his grip. He was going to get Alex to listen. One way or another. "Going to behave now?"

Alex fell tumbling forwards to the carpeted floor when the intruder's body crashed into his back. He fell helpless with a frightened yelp, groaning on being winded by the man's weight. Alex flinched when he was rolled over, expecting to be punched or something for attempting to flee. To be honest he prefered being pinned on his back than on his front. Don't ask why he knew this.
The Spaniard opened his eyes in panic on feeling fingers thread themselves around his neck. It took a moment but Alex saw who it was. He recognized him. He would never forget that Italian's face. Nor the one of thunder he had when he accused Alexander of cheating back when they were young. Technically it hadn't been cheating as they had never really been going out. It had been just some fun for Alex since they had a sort of chemistry in bed. But, for the teenage Alex, it hadn't stretched past anything but lust. The other boy hadn't been able to accept that. Things had ended badly. Bruises healed. But not the memory of this man.
"Ja--Jackie..." Alex choked out, panic rising as his grip grew tighter. No. Things couldn't end like this. But... it was fitting end. To have the life squeezed out of him by an abusive ex-fling that hadn't meant anything. Alex's life summed up in one sentence. But then... Reid.
Alex wasn't like that any more. And he owed it all to that one man. He had picked him up in his darkest of times and had given him a glimmer of hope that maybe he'd have something worthwhile with someone. And he did. He had Reid now and Reid had him. Jackie... had to go.
"Nene!" Alex gasped. his mouth was open wide, rasping for air, and his smarting eyes were clenched shut. He wasn't going to give the man the pleasure of seeing him cry. Well... that had been the idea.
After a few painful, airless moments, Alex was caving and going for Plan B... "I'll... be... good."

Relief washed over Jackie in rolling waves. His pet remembered him. That could only mean that he meant something to him. If not he would of fallen into the crowd of faces of men Alex had too easily forgotten about. This was good. It was a start. And on top of this Alex said he was going to behave. Still the quick learner, aren't you?
Jackie released the hold he had on Alex's delicate neck. He bit his bottom lip on spying the imprint of his fingers wrapped around his pale skin. Paired with Alex's cut lip and bruised jaw... it was heart-breakingly beautiful. All anger faded away, he scooped the boy up off the floor and held him close. "Good pet." Jackie cooed, brushing away his chestnut hair. It was soft, like everything else about Alex. He loved to just stroke and pet him like this, like before. He had found out that Alex hadn't minded as a teenager, he even enjoyed just being pampered by someone. That had been what had probably started this "pet" business.
Alexander was so light... it worried Jackie. Was he eating enough? Maybe he should sit him down and make him eat something right now. And get him to stop drinking too. But the latter was going to take more work. He held the young man closer and kissed his wet cheeks. They were salty. He worked his way downwards to just the corner of his mouth. It tasted metallic. Jackie shivered and ran his hand down Alex's back, coming to rest on the hemline of his trousers. He had waited so long for his pet to return to him and now... he had. It was hard to keep his hands off him.
"Nails." Jackie finally said, getting to a stand and picking the lanky boy up. He sat him in a chair and got a nail clipper. Jackie grabbed his hands and took the clipper to the first nail. While well kept and filed, it didn't look right. Alex played guitar so one hand had nails shorter than the other. Jackie needed to fix this. "They're too long. You know I never liked that. I'm going to trim them. Keep still."

Alex gasped for a heavenly lungful of oxygen as soon as the crushing pressure on his windpipe was lifted. Dizzy and seeing black spots, he didn't struggle when Jackie moved him. He just let him. Jackie was in a good mood now? He had to be bipolar or something. It was unnerving how he was touching his hair now but Alex was too busy recovering from being strangled to care.
Then Jackie began to plant kisses on his cheeks. Alex froze. He closed his eyes, hoping to the high heavens this wasn't going to lead to something else. He squirmed slightly when he met the corner of his lips. It was just disturbing how the man was tasting his blood. He wanted Reid so bad right now. Not just want, he needed him. Reid would make this man go away. He'd stop him.
Alex made a whine noise when he was sat down. Jackie was going to cut his nails? This was... beyond weird. He was so controlling it was unreal. He swallowed dryly, wincing at the dull ache where the purplish blemishes bloomed. He didn't want his nails trimmed. He kept them in perfect shape... just because Jackie didn't like them they had to go.
"Jackie... por favor..." Alex whispered meekly, watching as the first one was clipped, followed by a second, third, fourth and fifth. He grimaced a bit. It was ugly. "But... I liked them. Why are you doing this, Jackie?" He let his eyes search for his wand - the man had it on him somewhere. First chance he'd get, he'd make a grab for it. He needed that wand to be able to apparate. Without his ebony stick... there wasn't much he could do.

Alex wasn't proving to be as obedient as he had hoped. He had gotten awful tense around him and had even questioned why he was trimming his nails. Jackie furrowed his eyebrows in a dark expression and swept the trimmings into the bin. When he returned, Jackie sat on a stool beside him and placed a hand on each of his pet's knees. "I care for you, that's why." Jackie scoffed as if it were obvious. "I just want you to be good. Not some cheap, drunk whore." He wrinkled his nostrils when a waft of alcohol assaulted his senses. He'd almost forgotten that the boy had been out drinking the good part of the evening.
"You stink." Jackie grunted and leaned back into his stool. He folded his arms across his chest and surveyed his pet with judging eyes. "And you need food. You're too skinny. I could use you as a toothpick. Doesn't Rutherford feed you or something? You're a good cook so you have no excuse not to eat well." The Italian whisked out his wand and conjured up a swathe of material in his hands. He looked down at it with a tender expression for a moment. After putting his wand safely away, Jackie shook it out and held it up to see: a Hello Kitty apron decorated with cupcakes.
"Remember this? You stayed around mine and you bought it for a joke. You insisted on wearing it until I ended up taking it off you. I've kept it since." He passed it to Alex and his lips stretched into a thin, grim line. "You had been drinking that night. And I know you had taken something too. You've been quite a bad pet." Jackie grabbed Alex by his shoulders and forced him to a stand.
"Put it on for old time's sake. Then make us some food. Then I'll bathe you."
