She made her way down to the forbidden forest, after leaving the Slytherin Common Room. Her icey expression had fallen. She had tried to keep it cool, but even in her common room she felt like she was going to fall apart. She needed someone to rely on. She needed someone to hold her, comfort her, and wipe away the tears that she cried. She needed someone to care enough to tell her that she was loved. She needed Mack. As much as she did not want to admit it. She opened the letter, her eyes were red from reading it and keeping the tears inside. She was about to rip it up, but she figured she would let Mack read it first. Opening up the hallow doors of the school, she raced her way out to the Forbidden Forest. She found her way to the darkest part of the forest, even with the light out and about from the sun. She glanced up at the highlights of the branches, and continued her way. She slipped down onto a branch and lay the letter next to her. Her hand on her wand just in case someone other then Mack decided to come and spoil her alone time. Alexandria,
Your mother gave me the letter you sent to her, demanding that I read it and send you a reply. You are not worth my time, if I am honest, I am only doing this to keep your mother happy.
Perhaps you will feel a lot less like a stranger in your own family if you at least try to show your elders respect? It is a lesson we all have to learn, Alexandria, and if you continue like this you will find yourself getting nowhere in life.
Hair colour makes no difference to me; I will not treat you as I treat your siblings until you start treating me more like good daughters should treat their fathers.
Father

Mack had successfully snuck out of his History of Magic class. It wasn't hard when Redpaw was the teacher. He was too happy all the time and hated when people weren't. So when Mack told him he was about to hurl, and then promptly did thanks to the Weasley twins inventions, he let him go. He took the antidote pill as soon as he was out and ran to the forrest. Dria's letters to him told him that she was really hurting. He didn't care that the last time they talked she called him a mudblood. If she needed him, he would be there. Because that's the kind of guy he was. Sometimes.
All she told him was that she would be in the darkest part of the forrest. This didn't bother him, but made it difficult to find her. He wandered a bit, eventually finding her slouched on a branch on the ground. He saw a piece of paper next to her, and he guessed that it was the letter she received from her dad. Sighing contently at the fact that he had found her and she hadn't done anything stupid he walked over to her and sat down beside her.
He didn't really know what to say, but he figured he should probably say something to her. He knew she was hurting... but he didn't really know how to help her feel better. He wasn't the best at this, but he was willing to try for her.
"I'm sorry, Dria... even though it's not my fault. I'm sorry... that you don't have a father that gives you the love you deserve. You deserve so much."

Dria heard a creak, her hands gripped tight to her wand. She was getting ready to use a spell her grandfather had taught her in case she would need it. She stopped herself, as she saw his shadow. It seemed to make her feel a bit better. "Mack." She said as she felt her heart leap a bit. She knew she shouldn't have expected him to come out there. She knew she wouldn't be able to love him the way he wanted her too. She wanted to love him. She wanted to just throw her arms around him. Admit defeat, come to her senses. But she sat there, the letter glaring in the sunlight. She said a few words, and the sheet lifted up in the air and landed into Mack's hands. "I'm not worth his time, I'm worth no one's time." She said with a glare at the letter.
"He only wrote because mother made him, I'm not worth his time." She said with a look towards the ground. "I'm not treating him with respect? I thought he would be proud that I'm striving to be in his footsteps, that I'm doing everything like he would?" She held herself together, on the inside she was breaking. On the inside she was losing everything.
"How can I please him? How can I be what he wants?" She held tight to herself. She kept her eyes looking on the ground. She wanted someone to be over her. She wanted someone to yell at her. Treat her like she was nothings. It's what fueled the fire. It's what made her, her. It was the truth after all. She was nothing more then a pawn.

Mack hated seeing he so upset about something so horrible like this. No father should say that to their daughter. No father should ever be so mean. No daughter should ever have to go through what Dria was going through right now. It was just so horrible.
Mack decided he would be brave, and no matter what Dria did in response, he would do it. He put his arm around her shoulders in a sign of comfort. He just wanted her to know that even though her father wasn't there, he was.
"You're worth my time. I just skipped off class for you." Mack tried to smile but even he couldn't pretend to be happy right now. He was in too much of a sad atmosphere.
"I don't think you ever can please someone like him. I think that he'll always want something more than what you're giving him. Unfortunately..."

She had already sent an owl back to her father. She had already cursed at him, and screamed at him. Well she did not really do either. She just said what was on her mind. Perhaps she belonged to Lucius all along. Perhaps underneath it all, it did not matter to her what blood line she belonged too.
His arm went around her, faster then Dria could imagine. She pushed at him in response to it. But then pulled his arms back around her. She leaned her head against him.
"Your not my father. I know, your not him" If that made any sense whatsoever. She knew what she was trying to tell him. It was just hard.
"Most Malfoy's are like that, even grandfather was like that. But at least Grandfather acted like he cared. He may not have shown it. He may not have said it. But the way he acted around me, you could tell he cared." She told him.
"I've already come to realize this." She told him softly. "I've been living under the same roof as him, for the past fourteen years. Striving to be his perfect little blood girl, his perfect little slytherin daughter. His perfect everything." She said. "I am only blood perfect. I've only got that going for me. I've got nothing else." She said. "If I was a squib, hell this is better treatment then what squibs get treated like." She shook her head.
"At least he still acknowledges he has a daughter, actually I could be wrong. It might just be alicia that he acknowledges." She shrugged. It hurt. She couldn't describe the pain she held inside.

Mack was surprised but happy when she pushed him away, only to pull him back towards her. She rested her head on his shoulders and it felt completely right. He just hoped Dria say that way, but he imagined she wouldn't right now. Not under these circumstances.
He let her talk as much as she wanted to. He was here for her to talk to, to vent to, to get help from. He was gonna let her do just that. When she shrugged, he took it as she was done for now, and told her what he thought.
"You can't compare yourself to your sister. Or even your brother. You need to be yourself no matter what happens. No matter what you feel. You need to stand up for yourself... even if he's your father. You need to be strong like I know you are, but not do it alone. I'll always be here." Mack rubbed her shoulder where his hand was in a sign of comfort. He really would always be there.

She was fully content leaning her head against him. She was content in the best way she could be. She had him. She had someone to talk to. Even if she needed to do it in secret. Even if she needed to pretend. Her father could never know. She'd be scorned and ridiculed for life. She knew her father would push her away more. Demand that she gives up any form of knowledge that she was ever a Malfoy. She had that nightmare to live for.
"I have to be like her though, I have to be his perfect little daughter, and I don't know what perfect is. I don't get why I'm a waste of his time, but she isn't." She said quickly. It was like word vomit. Once you started you just couldn't stop. Maybe that was pringles. You couldn't have just one, so you keep going with your stupid life story.
"Being myself isn't cutting it with him. Being her, that would do it." She stated rather sharply. "He loves her." She bit at her tongue. "I want him to love me." She whispered.
She reached up and tugged his hand around her shoulder more. She turned to look at him. She was almost gazing into his eyes. She leaned forward. Her almost cold lips catching his. It was in that instinct she felt a bit better.

Mack let her talk more. He knew that he really couldn't help her fully. He knew that he couldn't make her dad love her like he loved her sister. It wasn't possible. He supposed he could try to curse him into doing that, but he didn't think that would be a very good idea.
He wanted her to realize that being herself was what she had to do. What she needed to do. She wouldn't be living in her dad's house for her entire life. She would eventually move out, and when that happened, she needed to be herself.
Mack felt her pull his arm around her more, it confused him at first. But he didn't think much about it because she looked at him, was almost gazing in his eyes, and he got lost in them. He saw her lean toward him, his body froze. He didn't think she would ever realize she liked him, if she even did. Let alone kiss him.
Their lips met, and Mack froze still. It felt... amazing. Mack took his other hand that had been resting on his own leg and put it on Dria's waist, pulling her toward him a bit. He deepened the kiss with emotion, not like people would normally deepen kisses. He let emotion flow into it to show her that there was someone that cared for her. Even though it wasn't her father.

She could not believe what she had done. She had done it now surprisingly she did not care. She leaned in more as he tugged around her waist. It felt right, safe, abs she could tell that he actually did care what happened to her. She tugged him again as she found herself pushing him back. Her lips pressing closer to his. She kissed him once again. A smile escaped her lips. "I love you." She whispered to him. She wanted to scream it out but she would not allow herself to do that.
She moved closer to him again. Her hands reaching around his body. She knew how far she would go. She was smart she was not going to have kids early in life. But as of that moment she wanted his closeness. "Hold me."

Mack thought that this was complete bliss. Her tugging and kissing him. Them being close. Them finally being together. At least he thought. Maybe not. He hoped though. Mack kind of froze when she said I love you. He felt it was too soon to say that. But whispered "I love you too" back at her. He did love her. He cared about her. He wanted her to be happy and he was going to try to get her to be. He just didn't know if it was possible with the kind of environment she grew up in. That was horrible.
She kept moving closer and closer to him, Mack thought that eventually she wouldn't be able to get any closer, but he didn't mind. He was there for her, no matter what. He wanted her to feel safe with him.
"I'll hold you until you force me to stop."

He was kind, he didn't care that she said I love you to soon. But it was hard to say those words when you hardly heard them. She did not know she had said it until after it was spoken. He did something shocking to the slytherin. He had said it back to her. Dria bit on her lip a little bit more.
Dria snuggled into his arms, in the woods. "You sure you want me? I've been nothing but horrible to you." Dria whispered. "I will not be horrible anymore. Mack, I promise." She had meant it too. She did not want to lose the one guy who made her smile. Who actually showed her what love was.

Mack thought she was just the cutest thing. Even with all her insecurities and flaws. She was perfect in his eyes and that was all that mattered. He didn't care about the past. He cared about the future. Their future.
"I'm positive I want you, Dria. When you were horrible, you were upset. I don't blame you for that. It's all forgotten." Mack smiled at Dria and kissed her again, just a quick little peck, showing that he really did mean what he said. He wanted her, and nothing was going to change that. She didn't need to have loving parents, because she had him now and that was all that mattered.
"Nothing matters anymore but us. Dria and Mack. Mack and Dria. I just love the way our names sound together, don't you?" Mack smiled a huge smile. He loved who he was with her. He wasn't the insensitive ass that he tended to be around people. He was just Mack. The Mack that loved his little sister and would do anything for her. That Mack tended to hide a lot.

Dria's eyes darkened a little bit as she thought about her father. She did not say a word though. She did not want to ruin them having there time together. She did not say a thing. Her heart was not aching as much as it was before. She was content.
When he spoke, his words went right into her heart. He wanted her. He wantedher no matter what. When she was horrible, she had been upset. But she felt bad for taking it out on him. It was his next moves that made her even better. He had kissedher on the cheek. It was enough to make her melt yet again.
The next part made her blush. He didn't just say that. But yet he did. Dria and Mack, Mack and Dria, that's all that mattered. She smiled a little bit more.
"We should probably get back, there bound to wonder where we are."

Mack's heart fluttered as he saw her smile and blush a little. It was so cute. At least to Mack it was, he thought anything she would do would be cute. She was just perfect, to him at least. That was all that mattered.
"Yeah. I suppose we should. Somehow I need to make an excuse as to why I didn't show up at Madam McKinney's after ditchin' class for sickness. Oh well. This was worth a detention." Mack smiled again as he slowly got up and dusted himself off. He didn't mind dirt too much, but it didn't look very good going in the castle together with Mack's clothes all dirty.
Mack held out his hand to help Dria off the dirt like a true gentleman. Something he wasn't very often, but would always be around Dria.

Dria slowly looked away. She felt that the way she acted around him was very immature for a women of her age. She was supposed to be better and here she was making out with Mack. It didn't really truthfully matter, because outside of the relationship Dria felt like she would have to treat Mack like she should, with hatred, ignoring him, she wasn't supposed to like him yet she did.
"I have to make up an excuse as to why I didn't show up for Potions." She confessed. Her head of house would have a fit wouldn't she? She'd have to say that she was at the medical wing or something to that effect.
Dria took his hand and stood up. She rubbed the dirt off her clothing and fixed herself. She took out her wand and muttered a simple clean up spell. She did not want anyone to know, yet she did. She wanted someone to tell her father maybe then he would act like he cared. Forbid her to see him.
