Blaze was heading down to the dungeons after a long day and was hoping not to run into anyone. She was in a really foul mood and if she ran into someone and they crossed her, she might just hex them into next year.
She was in deep thought about everything that has been happening around her: Her cousin dating a lion, her bet with Parker, her little lion cub Tommy, her truce with Alex's lion, a weird Head of House, and a few minor details. She sighed. Her last year was going to be crazy.
Luckily, the dungeons seemed to be empty. Since she didn't hear any sound coming from that direction. "Why can people be so.. so.. ugh!" she screamed out loud. Her life was going crazy. And it all began when she ran into the lion, Christopher Sutton.
"I officially blame him for this crazy last year." her mind spoke. Blaze nodded in agreement.

It felt...strange. Nadia had no idea when she had felt so content, it was surreal but Nadia felt that she should feel more, she had been craving all her life for attention from her Dad, and when she had finally received it Nadia wondered why she hadn't felt happier.
Nadia gripped her stress ball in irritation, a prank gift it may have been from her brother, but Nadia still felt it was the most useful present ever given to her.
Until of course she saw someone else, Nadia stuffed the incriminating ball into her robes hastily, it was too embarrassing to be seen by anyone either than family in her opinion.
"Sophiaaa!" Nadia practically sang the other girl's name.
In Nadia's opinion her and Blaze's relationship was ridiculously complicated, Nadia told Blaze no secrets, no information deeper than her birthday and favourite colour, and Blaze did the same (even if she didn't Nadia mused to herself that she probably wouldn't have listened, she wasn't good at managing two plus friends), but they weren't at each other's throats all the time...just most of the time.
Annoying Blaze was one of Nadia's favourite past times, actually...annoying people was one of Nadia's favourite past times end of story.

Blaze sighed and scrowled as the irritating tone of Nadia McLaggen came ringing to her ears. She and Nadia were neither enemies nor friends. They were both in between. Despite having huge misuderstandgins from time to time, Blaze had always kept in mind that she was one of Nadia's target for her hobby.
Alex had told Blaze once that Nadia always seemed to make it a point to annoy at least five to ten people a day. And Blaze was one of those unfortunate people who Nadia targeted to annoy. Blaze sighed and drew a forced smile across her face.
"Look what the snake dragged in. McLaggen. How was your run in with our dearly beloved Head of House?" Blaze sneered as she had hear through the mysterious grapevine that Nadia was shot down in front of the new flying instructor, a young 'claw, and a young 'puff. "I bet you just smiled at her as if it didn't affect you at all." Blaze added.
Unknown to Nadia, shooting annoying people down was a special skill Blaze took high value of. She was good make people remember their embarassing moments made Blaze smirk from ear to ear. Not that she would admit it to anyone. Only Alex knew of it.

Nadia narrowed her eyes visibly. Every single time she had been humiliated Blaze had found out somehow and milked it for all it was worth, which had just made whatever situation she had been involved in ten times more mortifying.
"She's a bitch, no other word for it Sophia."
Nadia didn't feel like replying to Blaze as she usually would've: a snide remark plus an underhanded insult to Blaze herself.

Blaze tried not to fall for Nadia's attempt of rescuing herself from humiliation. Ever since she met Nadia, they would always get into a girl fight that was done by humiliating each other and see who gives up first. Blaze was proud to say that she has never lost to McLaggen.
She smirked and didn't bother hiding it. "Well, you must not have made a good impression on her then." Blaze said, sneeringly. There was nothing better than humiliating Nadia McLaggen again and again before dinner started.
Blaze was glad that Nadia didn't hear how their Head of House had chosen a lion over her. She was secretly glad about it. It was better than being shot down in from of two other students and a teacher. Blaze sure was glad she wasn't Nadia then.

Nadia resisted the urge to close her eyes and say the magic words: "Avada Kedavra." It'd be so easy. But after pondering it for a few seconds Nadia decided that Blaze simply wasn't worth going to Azkaban for.
"The impression I made wasn't what counted. Our Head of House is a blundering imbecile, I bet she had to do some spreading of legs to get where she is. Hogwarts is going to the dumps hiring her."
Nadia out of nowhere ranted out her opinions on her Head of House, she knew that if any of the teachers heard (save for her Uncle Keith, as he didn't care for the head of Slytherin either) she could kiss her social life (or the fragments of it anyway) goodbye.

Blaze sat on the sofa and wanted to laugh out loud. But then again, it wouldn't be like her if she did. Nadia was showing her stupidity already. And it didn't even take Blaze ten minutes to do so.
"You have completely lost your bloody mind if you actually think that our Head of House had to spread her legs to the Board of Governors just to land her job. From what I here, not only was she The Head Girl during her year, she was prefect and the best student to finish Hogwarts during her year." Blaze began.
She wasn't defending the professor. But Nadia had no right to make such a theory that low against a teacher. "Not only that, she's the only daughter and heiress to the Theoreux name. I won't be surprised if you haven't heard how powerful and rich she is. But I warn you, you ought to watch her out. That lady will run your family to the ground if you piss her off." she told Nadia.
It wasn't an advice, it was a warning.

Nadia shrugged and inwardly rolled her eyes at the sofa that had magically appeared. She knew Blaze was laughing at her and refused to give in, she wasn't stupid and she resolved to make Blaze Sophia whatever her last name was realise that.
"You just proved my point. Money can get you anywhere." With a haughty snort Nadia continued, "my family is more powerful and richer. Back in wherever the hell she's from she may be worshiped but this is England, Britain, Great Britain, the United Kingdom, it's set in the old ways and is no place for a newcomer." Nadia was sure she'd set Blaze dumbstruck.

Blaze just had to laugh off what she heard Nadia say. "You totally dimwitted bimbo..." she turned serious. "No matter where you go in this Merlin forsaken planet, money will get you everything you can possibly desire. Nothing can be more important than that. The family name only comes second." she told Nadia.
"If you think that your family is as powerful as you think it is, you have another thing coming, McLaggen. From what I know, your parents were from Gryffindor. I was indeed surprised when the hat placed you here. A lion cub in the snake pit. How utterly unimaginable." she hissed at Nadia.
Comparing the McLaggen name to the Theoreux legacy, their Head of House can easily bankrupt whatever business Nadia's parents are in without being questioned why. It was something Blaze wanted to see.
She smirked, "However, if you wish to rebel against the Head of our Noble House, go ahead. I would enjoy watching you slowly dig your own grave." she said with confidence.

Nadia returned the smirk she was given. Being called "a stupid bimbo" was a given. She didn't put much work into her studies, she barely scraped by on the social strata, and her flippant demeanor often gave off the impression that she either didn't care because of some familial issue or was as Blaze had put it: "a stupid bimbo".
But that wasn't true, strictly speaking, Nadia preferred to keep things on a professional level only indulging in things like sex when she was absolutely tired of everything and refused to give up if she still had fight in her. Nadia wasn't one for book smarts, but she did logically rationalise most things, and she knew how to survive. Which was what mattered to her the most.
"Look around you Sophia, the war is over, Gryffindor's on top. I joined Slytherin in the hopes that perhaps I may restore it to honour but the likes of you keep bringing it down to the ground." Nadia paused, thinking carefully on how to word her next sentence.
"Rebel? Who said anything about rebellion? Now I simply want to put our Head of House in her place." Nadia smiled at this, although inwardly she was nervous beyond belief in the chance that her Head of House might hear if she accidentally said something that might not have her being let off easily.

Blaze eyed Nadia and hissed when Nadia said about her kind bringing it down. But then again, Blaze smirked. "You go ahead and try all you want." she stood up, knowing it was useless talking to a dimwitted bimbo who thought that she could do the impossible.
"Whatever glorious name Slytherin had before, not even you can bring it back. The Dark Lord Voldemort had stripped Salazar Slytherin's name of any redeeming chances it may have had." she said.
"May I remind you, McLaggen, even your family isn't that perfect. Your the only Slytherin while both your parents were from Gryffindor. Do you even think that I would allow a spawn of two lions bring more shame to the already disgraced name of Slytherin?" she hissed at Nadia.
Blaze was now truly angry. "You're a hopless idiot, McLaggen if you think you can bring Slytherin's glory back. And you just proved to me that you truly are a Gryffindor spawn. You're not thinking and just went with want you felt. Just like they do." Blaze added with an insulting smirk and left the common room.
She had enough of Nadia McLaggen and wanted to be as far away from her as she possibly can.

Nadia stood silently as Blaze spoke, not out of courtesy, but out of curiosity. Once Blaze was finished speaking Nadia opened her mouth to retort but before she could do so Blaze left.
Left Nadia feeling just a twinge of confusion. She wasn't surprised by any means by the reaction Blaze had had, no...more...angry.
The Sorting Hat had placed her in Slytherin for a reason she always convinced herself, it would never ostracise someone from their family without a good reason but thinking about it Nadia often wondered in the back of her mind whether the Hat had done it for a joke.
Making up her mind Nadia chased after Blaze, she hated not having the last word, it always made her feel insignificant, and she had enough of that from her father.
"BLAZE!"
