Rayne laughed at Phoenix's nickname for her. It might take a bit to get used to him calling her that. But she still found it cute. It wasn't like it was bad or anything. It was just different. That's all. Rayne didn't know what time it was, but she was kind of thinking that it might be too late for Nyxie to walk her back and make it back to his common room on time. But she was selfish and didn't want to walk back alone.
She started walking with Nyxie, smiling over at him when he told her he had a good time. "I did too. I'm totally glad I got caught sneaking out."
[/b] She smirked at him from the side, but kept walking. When he yawned, she saw it and couldn't stop her yawn. "Damn you and your yawning!"[/b] She laughed at him, showing him it was a joke of course. "So what time should we meet tomorrow? And should we just meet by the lake? Or somewhere else?"[/b] She smiled at him. She was really looking forward to tomorrow now. [/blockquote] OOC: We're obviously just keeping this thread for them walking back.

"Heyy, I can't help it!" Phoenix chuckled, giving her a light, playful push to the side. "Its late. I'm full. I'm tired. I wanna go sleep." But, given the chance, he knew he'd choose to pass more time with Rayne - he hadn't got on so well so soon with anyone quite like this. The young Claw glanced back at the girl with a smile before going to climb the first of many flights of stairs. "How about after lunch? Do you have any classes? If you do, then we'll just meet up after those. And if not, after lunch." Phoenix gave a small shrug. He didn't care when he met up with Rayne. As long as he got to meet up with her again...it'd be perfect. He ran his hand along the marble banister while he climbed. If there was one thing that Phoenix was glad about, that was not being sorted into Gryffindor. The thought of having to face all these stairs after dinner each night wasn't a pleasant one for him. "Rayne, what classes do we have together? I know we should have at least one." [/b][/blockquote]

Rayne just laughed as she was shoved slightly by Phoenix. It barely moved her, but she pushed him back. Not hard either. Just enough to joke with him and laugh. Why did she feel as if she'd known him for all her life instead of simply a night. It wasn't right... Was it? Was this normal? Rayne didn't think it was. But she wasn't going to complain either...
"I don't think I have any classes after lunch. So that sounds good."
[/b] She smiled over at him again. She actually thought she only had one class tomorrow. Directly after breakfast. But she'd kill some time somehow until after lunch. It would probably go slow. Rayne thought about it for a moment. She couldn't remember what classes she had with him. Or the claws at all. She had a lot of classes with the snakes. Mainly because the school wanted them to get over their rivalries. As if. "I think... Herbology and Transfiguration? Maybe? I'm not entirely sure."[/b] Rayne never thought she had been as tired as she was right now before. All that work... then food. It was enough to force anyone to sleep. "I don't wanna walk up all these stairssss."[/b] Rayne whined to him. "Carry me, Nyxie!"[/b] [/blockquote]

Phoenix thought for a moment, trying to picture his timetable. Transfiguration and Herbology sounded about right. Coming to think of it....maybe he had seen her a couple of times. But, of course, he hadn't really paid attention to anyone but the teacher, the work at hand and Mackenzie. Maybe...after tonight...it would be different. Mackie was an impossible dream. It'd be best if he just let go. "Yeah. I guess I'll be seeing you in those classes too then." Phoenix turned and went to grin at her. She was falling behind. Tired, obviously. He stopped and gave a small frown. Did...he offer to give her a ride up? He didn't want to run the risk of not being able to cope with her weight and having to tell her to get down. Girls didn't like their weight being pointed out by a guy. But then...she was tiny and thin. There was no way she could actually weigh much. "C'mere lazybones. Piggyback until the fifth floor." Phoenix turned around, offering her his back to clamber onto before reassuming the climb up to the last floor. "But only the fifth floor, you hear?" [/b][/blockquote]

Rayne kind of stared at him for a moment. She didn't actually think that he would say yes to giving her a ride up the stairs. Her smile grew in size when she realized he was seriously going to give her a ride. Like she was going to object.
With a small laugh she ran the last few steps until she reached him and then jumped on his back with another small giggle. She knew she didn't weigh much. Her metabolism made sure of that one. She wrapped her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck. She rested her chin on top of his head. That was how far she had jumped up. She was a good jumper...
"Thank you Nyxie."
[/b] She giggled. Suddenly not feeling as tired as she was not too long before. She could tell she was going to be close to Nyxie after tonight. She could just feel it. He gave her piggy back ride for crying out loud! If that didn't scream a keeper, she didn't know what did. [/blockquote]

Phoenix staggered slightly under the sudden extra weight he was now carrying - she had pretty much just launched herself onto his back after all. He bounced her up once so he could link his arms under his legs and away they went. "Don't get used to this." Phoenix chuckled, relieved that the girl was lighter than previously expected. "Otherwise I'll get you to return the favor." His merry chuckle grew in intensity on picturing the petite Lion struggle with his lanky frame. He couldn't imagine that ever happening besides for a joke. "And no falling asleep either. If you do I'll leave you on the fifth floor and let Peeves have you." [/color] But Phoenix knew he wouldn't. It was more of an empty threat. A fellow student ran down the stairs and gave them an odd look while he went. Phoenix didn't give him any attention. He was just jealous that he wasn't carrying a pretty girl off to her dorm. "God but why do the Lions have to live so far up?"[/color][/blockquote]

Rayne chuckled at him. Like she could ever pick him up. He was way too tall. And Rayne was kind of... weak. She would try though. And probably would fail miserably. "Too late. I'm already used to it."
[/b] She joked with him. She was totally gonna make him carry her everywhere. Rayne's face turned to that of mock horror. She knew he wasn't going to just leave her there. Or... she hoped. "You do... and your pretty brown hair will be turned pink."[/b] She whispered in his ear, forcing herself not to laugh and be completely serious. When someone ran past them, giving them a weird look on the way, Rayne childishly stuck her tongue out at him. No one gave Rayne a weird look. That was for sure. If she wasn't holding onto Phoenix right now, she probably would have hexed him. Made him have big teeth or something like that. So other people would look at him weird. What was wrong with someone carrying a girl to her dormitory... or god. That did sound weird. And... wrong. Oh well. Rayne didn't care. "We like the sky! And anything close to it! It's almost natural that we're in a tower."[/b] Rayne explained to him with a giggle. That was at least the reason Rayne thought they had the tower as their dorms. [/blockquote]

"Turn my pretty brown hair pink..." Phoenix turned his head so hss face was mere inches away from Rayne's. "...and your pretty brown hair will be nonexistent." [/b] He snickered deviously, shrugging the girl up with a bounce before tackling the next flight of stairs. This was actually easier than he first expected. He just hoped Rayne wouldn't count on this for every night, Phee wasn't sure if he'd have it in him to say 'no' to the girl. "That. Or to keep you all as far from the snakes as possible." Phoenix reached the top of another bout of stairs. The fifth floor wasn't far off now and the Gryffindor's common room was looming closer with every step. "Rayski, did you see Professor McKinney smile before?"[/b][/blockquote]

"You wouldn't!!!!"
[/b] Rayne narrowed her eyes at him when he looked back at her. No one messed with her hair. Neverrr. Rayne loved her hair. That and her eyes together is what she loved most about herself. She didn't know why. Maybe it was because there weren't a lot of brown haired, blue eyes girls out there that she knew. "That... could also be a very good possibility."[/b] Rayne giggled as she laid her head on top of his shoulder. She was started to get tired again. She closed her eyes for a second. Answering Nyxie with her eyes closed. "I did! I thought the world had stopped spinning..."[/b] She trailed off, her body taking over completely. "It was like... we-"[/b] She stopped suddenly from a big yawn before just kind of drifting off. Good thing Nyxie was carrying her. [/blockquote]

"I know, tell me about it. It was weird as." Phoenix chuckled, remembering how Brent had smiled when he told thr two of them that they had finished. "Probably on his way back from Professor Jackson's, if you know what I mean?" [/b] The claw felt how Rayne was beginning to feel a bit like a dead weight on his back...and she hadn't giggled back either. Eyebrows furrowed, he caught a glimpse of their warped reflection in the armor of one of the many knights that decorated the corridors. A smile toyed with his lips - Rayne was asleep on his back. "And perfect timing too."[/b] Phoenix snickered sarcastically to himself. He had just reached the fifth floor. The teen stood there for a moment and wondered what to do. The temptation to lie her down and hid around the corner in wait for a reaction was awesome. But then...curfew couldn't be far off. And if a teacher caught a boy peepeing around the corner at the form of a sleeping girl....well....his story probably wouldn't seem very believable. "If I get in trouble for being out after hours, you owe me, Rayski."[/b] Phoenic murmured to himself before proceeding to tackle the stair up to the Gryffindor Tower... "Rayne. Raaa-aaayski." Sang a tired Phoenix, jiggling his sleeping friend about on his back. "Lazybones. We're at the Fat Lady. Now 'gerrof' before I start calling you the same." He teased, bouncing Rayne about on his back to stir her from her slumber.[/blockquote]

Rayne had literally passed out completely. She only started to wake up when she heard her name being called a few times. Then when Phoenix was jumping and shook her awake. It was totally not fair. "Lemme sleep, Nyxie!"
[/b] She whined as she pushed her head into his neck farther, gripping his tighter to make sure she didn't fall off. When she heard his little comment about calling her the fat lady though... her head snapped up, and suddenly she was pretty awake. "You call me fat... and I'll show you just how fast this fat girl can toss you down all those flights of stairs, mister."[/b] She said, being serious. Well... half serious. She wouldn't really throw him down the stairs. She grumbled more before jumping off of his back. Stumbling slightly, still sleepy from her nap. "What happened to not carrying me past the fifth floor?"[/b] She smiled and winked at him. [/blockquote]

Phoenix wasn't exactly impressed. This was the thanks he got for lugging the girl all the way up here on his back? When she finally hopped off, Phee stretched backwards and rubbed the small of his back. He'd been pretty stupid. He was going to be feeling his sweet gesture later on. "Well....you were asleep." Phoenix shrugged once he was stood up straight again. "I wasn't really going to leave you to the mercy of Peeves. I'm not that mean." [/b] He glanced around and saw not a soul. It was definitely after curfew by now. All the other students must of disappeared off to their common rooms by now. Al of them except Phee. He still had to go down the tower plus three floors without being spotted by a member of staff. He had really been stupid carrying the girl all the way up here. "Yeah.... I should of just got you to walk from the fifth floor. I'm running late now."[/b] Phoenix sighed, adjusting his robe around him, getting ready to dash down flights of stairs. "I should head to our commons before someone catches me."[/blockquote]

Rayne knew she should have probably acted a bit differently towards the guy that had carried her up all the way to her portrait hole. She wasn't a nice person when she just woke up. That was for sure, her dorm mates had learned that fairly fast.
Walking over to him, not caring about how he was probably going to be late for curfew. Hopefully no one would catch him out of bed. She wrapped her arms around his waist and hugged him. Her head resting on his chest. It wasn't a long one, just one to show her thanks the proper way. When she pulled away, she reached up on her tiptoe's and kissed his cheek in a friendly way. "Thanks for carrying me up to my dorm. I'll see you tomorrow?"
[/b] She asked him with a bright smile. She didn't care that she had just met him and she had kissed his cheek, she would have done that to anyone that had carried her up the stairs. She had always been one for hugs and touching. That kind of contact. It was just who she was. [/blockquote] [/blockquote]

Phoenix was a bit surprised when Rayne changed her attitude all of a sudden. But he wasn't about to complain about getting a hug in thanks. He wrapped his arms around the girl for a momemt, giving her a single pat. And, well, when she reached up to peck him on the cheek, Phoenix didn't know where to hide himself. His cheeks were flushing rose. "Okay, okay you." Phoemix snickered, takimg a couple of steps backwards. "A little 'thank you' would of done me fine. Now I really, really must run." [/color] Phoenix turned on his heel with a quite swish of his robes before the deepening blush got too obvious - Rayne was just too sweet. He was sometimes a touchy-feely person himself...but having others be like that to him was rare. "Catch you at the lake after lunch tomorrow, Rayski."[/b] Phoenix called back over his shoulder, raising a hand in farewell at Rayne before disappearing around the corner. "Try an' not get yourself into detention, m'kay?"During the whole sprint to his own common room, he had Rayne on his mind. A girl that he had only just met, but that he felt something between them just click. She was easy to be around, fun and not to mention cute. Phoenix found himself blushing again by the time he reached his floor. Before going through he chuckled lightly touched his cheek. He couldn't wait to tell Mackie about his eventful evening with a girl that had unknowingly charmed him.[/blockquote]
