Aiden was glad that Jackie stayed with him. He smiled as he looked at Jackie. He never thought that Jackie was more lovelier up close. They never had any reason to be that close before. He slowly stroked Jackie's hair. "My sweet Jackie..." Aiden said as he smiled lovingly at Jackie. "Sorry to be a bother.. And for the short notice of staying over..." he added with a chuckle, a very soft chuckle. His chest was still in pain.
"Well, let's just rest here and hope that it'll be better... I'm sorry Jackie...." Aiden spoke again. He wanted to tell Jackie. But he couldn't. He was scared. For the first time in his life, Aiden was scared of losing Jackie. He pulled Jackie closer to his chest and kissed his friend's forehead. And he just held Jackie close to him.
He closed his eyes but still had a smile on his face. Yes, Aiden was contented with having Jackie beside him. He wanted nothing more.

Jackie had never really been this close to Aiden before, sharing a rare moment of quiet where they simply enjoyed another's company. He had been like this before; back as a teen with Alex and with his ex-girlfriend. The latter felt forced and very different from now. This was easy and felt natural.
"You're never a bother, Aiden." Jackie hummed deep in his throat, closing his eyes and relaxing into Aiden's hand. Having his hair toyed with was something that never happened yet he found it soothing. "You're always welcome. Even if you turn up at four in the morning on the run from a herd of trolls. You're always welcome and never a bother."
Jackie opened his eyes briefly on feeling his friend's lips lightly press on his forehead. It had been a while since he had shown honest affection towards anyone. Aiden was different. This felt good. Jackie smiled into his friend's chest, pressing his face gently against it and hearing the faint thrum of his heart in his chest.
"You can't be sorry. My pet was the one that did this. How were we to know he'd manage such a thing? He usually comes off as some foolish boy but... I guess he can be astute when the moment calls." Jackie sighed, moving his hand from Aiden's hip since now his hand was at an awkward angle from moving. He threaded it around Aiden's waist and rubbed little circles into the small of his back instead. There was probably a line somewhere that limited how far friendly embraces went but Jackie didn't care, when it came to Aiden those lines forever seemed blurred. "Need a blanket? Or is this okay? Are you comfortable? Anything I can do, Aiden?"

Aiden held Jackie close to him. This was enough for now. "Ssshhhh... No more talk about your pet tonight..." Aiden whispered as he kept stroking Jackie's hair. "My sweet sweet Jackie... This is enough. No need for anything else..." was all Aiden said. He was getting better now. The antidote was working fast and he could feel it.
"Jackie.. Having you with me is enough... I'm feeling a little better now... Just let me stay like this with you for a little while longer... Not unless you'd help me to bed then I can hold you there better..." he teased softly. Jackie mattered more now. Aiden finally understood. He finally understood why he would want Jackie's approval of Brent. He understood now why he didn't like Alex being there.
Jackie was his. Jackie belonged to Aiden and no one else. The sad part was that Aiden couldn't tell Jackie. Not yet that is. He will soon.

Jackie was asking himself why he hadn't had more moments like these with Aiden. Things in his life got crazy a times, usually because of his own talent to lose his head easily and get lost in his twisted impulses. But this... was the calm that made everything have sense again. Aiden's touch calmed him infinitely.
"My bed? It probably would be for the best..." Jackie mused out loud. He opened his hazel eyes and looked at his friend. "But no funny business." He teased before sitting up and placing his feet on the floor. "I'll have you know that I'd like to sleep sometime."
Reason why Jackie would like to sleep was simple. He needed to be well rested for tomorrow. Despite Aiden not wanting him to go marching off with only revenge in mind, Jackie was going to do it anyway. He couldn't leave this how they were. He wouldn't let Alex get away with this.
"You seem to be getting a bit better but let me help you anyway." Jackie smiled, offering his arm and shoulder to aide his friend to his room. There was nothing weird about two guys sharing a bed, especially if they were best friends. Both of them just needed a spot of comfort.

Aiden sighed and took a deep breath as he let Jackie help him up and move to the bedroom. "You better keep that knife before either of us get poked by it." Aiden told Jackie as he took another deep breath. It was true that he was feeling better but his insides still feel like it was burning up.
"I promise... No funny business... I do want to sleep as well, you know." Aiden told Jackie. He was so tired and wanted nothing more but to sleep. "But I will tell you that I will hold you close. You make me feel happy... Thank you, Jackie." he whispered as he smiled at Jackie.
"Yes, I feel a little better now. Thank you for taking care of me." he said and smiled. He sat on the bed so that he wouldn't have to burden Jackie any longer. "I'm sorry for being a burden right now, Jackie." he said and looked away. He felt bad for lying to Jackie but he didn't want Alex to be there. No one else should be there. Just them.

When Jackie was told he made his friend happy, something warm flared up in his chest and his face felt rather warm too. He told himself that it wasn't a blush because it couldn't be. It was just... Jackie didn't even know what it was anymore. The lightning was dim in his room, hopefully it would go unnoticed.
"You call yourself a burden one more time and I will poke you with this knife." Jackie stated, picking up the knife and prodding his side with it for effect. "And I will enjoy it. So... be warned." Knives were pretty things. It was mesmerizing how the silver would flash crimson once it plunged true into a target. Jackie found it so anyway. Aiden probably knew that already anyway.
"Because I really do not mind taking care of you. Its what friends do, am I correct?" He said with a smile, placing the knife on the bedside table and out of harm's way, or temptation's reach. He turned back to Aiden and kicked his shoes off and his friend's before tugging the blanket folded on the bottom on the bed. He wrapped Aiden with his arms and tucked him in snugly. "I just want you to feel better. Now, you should really get some rest. Otherwise I'll make you drink that wine and you wouldn't want that?"

Aiden gave Jackie a mock pout. "I'm hurt Jackie... That's you'd actually use my own knife on me..." he said and lay flat on his stomach. not looking at Jackie. He liked teasing Jackie and this was one of those times.
"Alright.. I'm just worried that maybe you'd find me a burden.. I am heavier than you, you know... And that this never has happened before... Me being this weak and not being able to protect you." Aiden said with a sadden tone.
Aiden wondered if Jackie was going stay beside Aiden or not. but then he just remained laying flat on his stomach. The pout was still on his face and he wanted Jackie to see it.

"That just means that I get to take care of you for once. Rather be weak around me than anyone else. At least I won't take advantage of it." Jackie raised an eyebrow and stroked his back. He was lay on his side, watching Aiden pout with a smile. Well, wasn't that a strange sort of adorable? Uh... Jackie didn't just call Aiden adorable? Jackie blushed. Again. Oh, Merlin's pants.
But, Jackie knew how to do away with that little pout he had going on. He shifted forward and pressed his lips to them in a little peck. "Okay, so maybe I will and can take advantage. Not like you can hit me or anything right now, can you?" Jackie laughed heartily, rolling onto his back with his fingers laced over his stomach. "Weakling." He said, prodding Aiden in his hip, teasing him.
Jackie didn't really think much about giving Aiden a peck on the lips, it happened so easily, he didn't even have to think about it. There was just a tingling on his lips that reminded him of it. "Now go sleep, or I will use your knife on you. I can reach it, y'know. So don't tempt me."

Aiden was shocked that Jackie kissed him. Even if it was just a peck. He never thought Jackie would do it. But he did. Then he was being poked by Jackie and he just had to laugh. "Alright alright.. Enough..." he said as he pulled away and hugged Jackie from behind. "Come one, let's get some sleep now... I just want to spend the night like this..." Aiden said as he kissed the back of Jackie's neck.
He smiled and buried his face on Jackie's neck."I'll always be here for you, Jackie... Always..." he whispered to Jackie. Aiden was now very much contented with having Jackie and no one else. And he didn't want anything else now. his life seemed alright now. It was like nothing else seemed to be wrong.
Aiden closed his eyes and fell into sleep, holding Jackie closed to him. He was at peace now. And nothing could make the night anymore right than having Jackie with him.

Jackie tried not to shiver when he felt Aiden press his lips against his neck. He just let his eyes close and relax into his friend. He wasn't used to being spooned but it was okay, he supposed. It was kind of nice. Even if it was a bit weird being spooned by Aiden, a guy. But still nice nonetheless.
The Italian forgot about this though on feeling his friend's breath ghost over his neck. Oh Merlin. Jackie inhaled deeply and sighed, letting his head sink deeply into his pillows. This was extremely comfortable. He thought this would probably freak him out but it didn't. Jackie would never say it but he enjoyed this. Maybe a bit too much for his liking, but he enjoyed it.
"Always is a big promise." Jackie murmured, entwining his fingers with Aiden's. He remembered what he thought about the lines between friendship and love being blurred when it came to Aiden. This just proved it. He wouldn't do this with just anyone. "But I know you'll keep to your word." And I love you for that. And with that thought in mind, he fell asleep in Aiden's arms. It would be the best sleep he'd have in years.
