It had been a long day. Being the Ancient Rhunes' apprentice was harder than she thought. And Professor Minna wasn't all that bad. Yet she was still so strict and all like she was when she was a student. She wished that Chris was there. He always did managed to make her feel better. She looked down at her hand, looking at the ring he had given her. She looked at it and brushed a finger on the ring. "How I wish you were here, love. You'll make me feel all better, right?" she asked the ring. It was hard. Being like this. Not having Chris around.

Chris wouldn't admit it out loud, but he had been bored as hell lately. He hadn't exactly been sure what he wanted to do when he finished school before graduation. He just never could come up with anything that would make him happy, well besides Alex. His father didn't exactly push him to find a job so he was still jobless.
He had decided that a visit to Hogwarts was in order to cure his boredom. He hadn't seen Alex in a while and he missed her, a lot. He had checked her quarters and the classroom, didn't find her in either.
He stood in the doorway watching her. She looked stressed and tired, plus like she could use a good massage or two. He caught her messing with the ring on her finger. He smiled as he thought of the night he put it on her. That was, well that wasn't his best night in his life. "If you get an answer from it, maybe we should take it back. I didn't want a talking ring."

The all to familiar voice broke Alex's trance. She turned around and smiled. She quickly stood up and ran to give Chris a hug and a kiss. "Chris! How I've missed you!" she said as she pulled away after the kiss. She still had he arms around his neck and looked like she just got the biggest Christmas present of her life. "And your not taking back this ring. If it talks back, I'll be glad to have some company." she said as she told Chris with a mock pout.

Chris chuckled. He had kind of expected that sort of reaction. He really loves when she get excited. He loves her period, what can he say.
He wrapped his arms around her waist. Merlin he missed having her in his arms, having the warmth she provided. He put all his passion and love into the kiss, hoping she could feel it. "I've missed you too. I love you, baby."
He knew he would never take her ring back, he would never want it back. "Don't worry love, the ring is yours. I promise I will never take the ring back, especially after the crazy night that revolves around giving it to you in the first place."

She smiled when he said he wasn't going to take the ring away from her. then he looked at him, "I still don't know what it was doing in your pocket, love. I thought you were proposing to me. Not your pocket." she said with a smirk as she reminded him of what had happened. Then she leaned in for another kiss. "Hmmmm.... You know, you can still get a job here with me if you want? That way we can see each other every day." she suggested.

He groaned. Okay so maybe he shouldn't be thinking about it. It sounds so stupid when someone says it out loud.
He thought about what she said. While he loved her and like Hogwarts, he didn't know about being here any longer. "I don't know love. While I would love to see you every day and spend more time with you, I'm not sure working here is what I want to do. I mean, I don't think I would be happy with my job."

She smiled and shook her head, "No worries, love. You can choose to do whatever it is you want to do. But we won't get to see each other so often. We can keep in touch via owl though. And during weekends we can go to Hogsmeade?" she said. Alex had to compromise. She didn't want to push Chris to doing something that he didn't want to do. And id he said he didn't like to work at Hogwarts, she was going to respect his decision.

He was glad she wasn't going to push him to do anything. In reality he didn't have to make any decisions any time soon. Between his parents and what he was left after his parents died, he didn't have the burden of needing a job. "Of course we will keep sending letters love. It's so hard to go through the day without seeing you let alone hear from you."
Just like that he got an idea. "Alex, I think I know what I want to do. What would you say to easier forms of communication over distances. No sticking your head in a fire. No sending letters with owls and waiting days for an answer."

This made Alex curious. "Alright... How do we still communicate? You know cellphones don't work here. No muggle technology does." she pointed out. Because she couldn't think of any other way for them. She was open to suggestions and if she liked what he was thinking, then she'll go with it without question.

Chris smirked. "What if they could? What if someone was able to mess if the muggle technology to work not only around magic but maybe even run off it? It would make our lives so much easier. I know the magical world here is living way in the dark ages but what if someone was able to do this. It would make our lives easier and bring our world into the modern age." He smiled and was excited about all the possibilities.

She still didn't understand but she was going to humor herself. "Alright... For some reason, lets say its possible. Who's going to do it? You?" she asked him as she looked at him strangely, like he had grown another head. It wasn't something possible, was it? No one's ever done it before. Alex did wonder why but she wasn't the one with answers.

Chris pulled back from the embrace. Did she...no. "Yeah, I think I can do it. Do you doubt me?" He dropped his arms and walked to the railing. He looked out at the lake, gosh he loved that lake. "I know it's never been done before but I really think I could do it. I know muggle technology well and I am pretty good at charms. I know it would take time and a lot of effort but I think it could work."

Alex watched as Chris moved to the railing of the Astronomy Tower. "No, I'm not doubting you love. It's just that magic and muggle technology had never been tampered with before. So I'm having doubts. But if you say you can, then you have my full trust, support and confidence that you can do it." she said as she gave him a hug from behind. She looked out and saw the lake. That was where everything really began. "You remember when we were at the lake? The time that you took my first kiss? Well, now I'm glad that you did. If you didn't, we wouldn't be here right now." she told him as she smiled.

Chris sighed. He knew he overreacted but it still hurt a bit. He put his hands on top of where hers were on his stomach. "I'm sorry love. I overreacted."
He turned around and gave her a quick kiss on the lips. He moved around her, switching their positions. He wrapped his arms around her, placed his chin on her shoulder and looked back out over the lake. "Yeah, if I hadn't done that I probably wouldn't be standing here now." He chuckled to himself. "I bet you're glad, now, that Blaze didn't hurt me after all that happened."
He kissed her neck. "What do you think about eloping?"

Alex smirked, Chris was getting braver and braver by the second. "Hmmm... If we elope, do I get to wear a wedding dress still? And we can invite James and Blaze as our witnesses?" she said as she looked at him from where she was. It was indeed nice that she didn't let Blaze harm him. But she almost did. "I almost did though.. But I was never able to go through with it since I fell for you..." she added with a soft laugh.
