Jake looked up from his work to see Lauri reading part of his essay. Somebody else had joined Mack in the air and they looked as if they were seriously competing up there. Jake looked at Lauri. "What? No, it's due in a few days..." he turned a bit red when she pretty much insulted his work. "No! It's just the first draft," he said, "It'll be much better by the time its due." He needed to get good grades so he liked to draft his homework. Sometimes he would go through four or five drafts just until it was perfect.
He looked at Lauri and frowned. "And you're a fourth year. You haven't seen the work the Professor gives when you're in sixth year. It's a lot different." He was being defensive and he knew it but it was a bit insulting for somebody to say his work was bad. Usually he did really well on written stuff like this.

Alex smirked as the magis words left Stone's lips. She turned her broom around and tightly gripped her bat. "You will certainly not enjoy this, Captain." she said with a smirk. She looked down and saw the little girl she was rude too a few days ago. She swooped down and flew a few feet away from her and a Hufflepuff guy.
Alex had a sincere smile on her face. She wanted to apologize heartily to the little claw and hoped she would help her torture Stone through practice.
"Laurinda Lendon, right? I'm Alex Knightly, your seventh year. I came to apologize for how I treated you at the Great Hall. It was very rude of me and I hope you'll forgive me. Time of month and all. I'm sure you understand." she began.
"The captian called for practise and wants the bludgers to be aimed at him. I'm the only beater around so far so would you mind being a beater for the time being? If your up for it that is. Just wanted to ask." Alex added, smiling.

Mack kind of flew in the air awkwardly until the girls were done. Lauri had gone over to Jake to no doubt get away from Alex. Lauri was a Ravenclaw after all and was smart enough to realize that going near Alex wasn't a good idea. Mack really hoped that this would just be solved and they could move on to working on Quidditch, like he wanted to.
When he soared in the air, Alex flew down to where Lauri and Jake were. He normally would have gone down with her. If it was any other person. But he decided that perhaps it wouldn't be the best thing in the world if he went down there. So instead he decided to take a few more laps around the pitch. Just letting the wind soar in his air. His mind trying to think of something that would make Alex not be mad at him anymore.
He didn't know if anything was possible except letting her bash his head in. And that couldn't be good...

Lauri ignored the voice in her head; she knew she'd have to say sorry. She rarely apologised to anyone, thinking that they didn't deserve it. This time was different though. Lauri had realised that she shouldn't have insulted his work but she could never manage to bite her tongue. She felt a little ashamed, seeing that she'd made the Hufflepuff embarrassed. She turned away from Jake, feeling awkward. It didn't help her mood at all when Knightly came over. At first, she narrowed her eyes, scowling at her housemate. Her fiesty expression faltered when Knightly apologised. She did seem sorry... "I guess I can forgive you, only because I want to pelt Mack with bludgers though." she replied dryly, not sounding very forgiving at all. She'd heard about Knightly, Lauri knew that her apology could just be fore some greater benefit. She didn't bother saying goodbye to Jake before flying back out onto the pitch, he was probably working on that stupid essay...[/ul]

Alex smiled sincerely as she handed Laurinda the extra bat she had. "Shall we have a go at the captian now?" she asked the little claw then turned to the Hufflepuff beside her and smiled.
"Hi, I'm Alex Knightly, Seventh Year, obviously a Ravenclaw. What's your name?" she asked the 'puff with her hand extended out to him. He looked charming and she was truly kind to people that hadn't done her wrong.
Alex smile was light and happy, something that she was now since she was going to pelt Stone with bludgers. "He asked for it. And if he survives the bludger attacks, then he will be back on my good side." she thought.
Alex was still waiting for either Laurin or the puff to speak and she had to be patient with them.

Jake sighed when Lauri took off without saying good bye. "Alright that's cool. Good bye to you too," he said not actually insulted They had been in a very awkward conversation so at least that was over. He felt a little bad about what he had said to her. He didn't like pulling the "I'm older than you" card but she'd pretty much said that his work was crappy.
Jake blinked and realized he had just completely zoned out. Another Ravenclaw stood before him, holding out her hand and introducing herself. He shook her hand giving her an apologetic look. "Sorry, zoned out. I'm Jake Abbott, sixth year, Hufflepuff," he said copying her formal greeting. "Nice to meet you." He looked up at the sky where Mack was circling. "Make sure to get a few hits in," he joked, smiling a bit, "He'll need a little damage to his ego if we're going to have a match without him yelling at the referee." A damaged ego wouldn't stop Mack but it would be funny anyways.

Alex gave Jake a warm and sweet smile then turned to look up at Stone. "Our captain will certainly not enjoy this bludger practice. That much I can assure him. Besides, bludgers have a very foul mood when it's being hit at captians." Alex said with a smile.
She looked at Jake again, "It was a pleasure meeting you too. You don't look like a sixth year though. I swore I thought you were in my year. I see you have Ancient Rhunes as well. I'll be seeing you more often then. I have that class as well." she said. "And I heard that the Professor is quite nice and warm. Despite being the head of Slythein House." Alex added before properly riding her broom.
"Time for practice, Laurinda. And it was very nice meeting you, Jake. You can call me Alex. See you around." she said with a charming and warm smile. She then took out her extra bat, gave it to Laurinda and flew off ahead.

Jake laughed. He liked Alex. She had a good sense of humor and didn't seem too offended by him like Lauri was. He shrugged at her comment about him looking older. "I get that sometimes but I guess at our age it's hard to tell the difference." He watched as she mounted her broom and talked about Ancient Runes and the professor. He was a bit intrigued as to her last comment about the teacher being the head of Slytherin.
"Well you can't judge everybody by their house. People deserve an equal chance," he said, sounding very much like a Hufflepuff. Hufflepuff and proud, he thought grinning a bit. "See you around." He nodded at her as she kicked off and flew into the sky for practice. Jake refocused on his Ancient Runes essay now that everybody was gone. He finished the last inch rather quickly and shut the book. Since there wasn't anybody else around, he looked up and watched Mack and his team practice for a few more minutes.

It seemed like forever that Alex and Jake were talking. Mack was just flying up in the air, trying not to think about what was happening. Jake was actually smiling at Alex... and it seemed like she didn't hate him. Why on Earth did she have to be on the team. Why on Earth did he have to tell Chris who she was. Why on Earth didn't he remember she was on the Goddamn team! It wasn't fairrrr!
Finally Alex and Lauri flew up in the air with Mack, ready to begin practicing. Mack wished he had the entire team, but this would work. Anything would work. He just needed to be in the air. To forget about anything else. That's all he needed.
"C'mon girls! Let's get started! I'll go let a bludger out then I'll try to score against Lauri and Alex can try to hit me." Even as he said it he knew it wasn't going to be a good idea. He would have to be extra careful of the bludgers. Alex was a great beater, and demonic in her tactics. Especially when it came to something she came about.
Mack had to be ready.

Alex smirked at Stone, "Oh no, Captian. Launrinda and I will be hitting both bludgers your way and you will try your best to avoid them." Alex said with a cold evil smile. She was going to have her revenge here and now to end things with Stone. "Besides, if you get through this, I promise on my magic that your previous mistake will be no more." she added and meant it.
That was one thing her own cousin didn't understand. Why would she even bother to forget what someone did to her just by extracting her revenge. She always thought about the old saying "An eye for an eye. A tooth for a tooth." And she thought of it that way. It was much simplier that way. However, Sutton's crime was beyond the norm. He stole her first kiss and he was going to pay for it.
"I hope your ready for us, Captian." she called out then turned to Laurinda and smiled warmly, "Ready to trash Stone?" she asked with her bat ready in her hands.

. "Let's do this, Knightly." she smirked back before zooming into the center of the pitch. Mack was going to pay the price for nearly hitting her but she couldn't help but wonder why Alex wanted to do this too. Lauri decided against asking. It was probably only something stupid and insignificant knowing the seventh year. Well, Lauri knew that her reason was both of those things but she didn't care. She was going to do this. "Ready, captain?" Lauri grinned, gripping her bat tightly, ready to swing and hit him. Hopefully square in the face, that would really make this worth her while.[/ul]

Mack was starting to panic. He didn't think that they would hit both bludgers at him! This wasn't a practice this was a time that Mack had better learn to fly like the fucking wind and run away. How was this fair what so ever. Sure, he had told Sutton that Alex and her cousin could be a little on the mean side, he was just telling the truth!
"C'mon guys. I'll end up in the Hospital wing!!! How is this fair! Can't we come up with a different way of solving this? One that doesn't involve me getting my head bashed in!?" Mack said it with a worried voice. He couldn't see any way out of this now that Lauri agreed and seemed to be all happy about it.
"What did I ever do to you, Lendon! No I bloody am not ready!"

Alex smirked and was geniunely proud of Laurinda. This was a practice Stone would never forget. "Don't worry, Captian. If you can dodge all the bludgers, you won't land in the hospital wing." She said as she took out her bat. She flew a few feet away from Laurinda and smiled at her warmly.
"Time for practice!" she called out and the bludgers flew out from the box. Alex was going to enjoy torturing Stone. She sent the first bludger straight at Stone. "Better be alert, Stone!" she said ad laughed menacingly. After this, IF Stone survived, he was going to be back in her good graces. And she would likely treat him better as her Captian then.

This could not be happening. They couldn't be ganging up on him! He didn't even mean to almost hit Lauri! It was just how it happened! She was the one that wasn't paying attention when he went to score!
"Guys! Please!" He begged one last time, but he knew it wasn't going to happen. Instead he decided to fly extremely fast away from from them. It was the only chance he got. As he rode, he fingered his robes for his wand. He always kept it in there, no matter what he was doing. He eventually got it, even as he was flying away. he grabbed it tight while flying. When they started hitting the bludgers at him, he was going to try to destroy the bludgers instead of getting hit by them. He just needed to think of the right spell to use... That could be a problem. He'd never tried to explode a bludger before.
