Jake walked onto the pitch, covering his eyes partially to block out the bright sun. Squinting, he looked around at the other people in the pitch and in the stands. There were a decent number of people, many of them probably on a free period, outside enjoying the sun.
"It's really sunny," Jake commented as a group of Slytherin girls passed. He sounded really stupid, he realized, after they walked away holding back giggles. He always said the wrong things when girls around, whether he was interested in them or not.
Sighing, he took a look around, noting the few people in the stands. "Alright. I'll head up there to ward off any Gryffindors who may try to interfere," he said jokingly but slightly wary. Mack and him usually joked about the people in the stands and the players before the games started but Mack didn't seem to be in the same cocky cheery mood. Jake started to inch away towards the stands, hoping Mack would get into the air soon and act like his normal self.

When Mack and Jake arrived at the Quidditch Pitch, they ran into Mack's Chaser for the Quidditch team, Lauri Lendon. Mack liked Lauri, she was very much like himself. Always trying to beat the people that drove her nuts. They both could end up with a temper on the Quidditch pitch is someone made them mad. She would be perfect to practice with.
"Hey, Lauri! Perfect timing!" Mack greeted her. He was glad to be able to have someone to practice with instead of flying by himself like an idiot. And she was a keeper. It would be easy for them to practice together because he was a chaser. He would just take shots and she would try to block him.
Mack knew that Jake would just go up in the stands and probably work on some homework assignment. He did it most of the time when he came to watch Mack, thinking Mack didn't notice. He always did.
Mack got on his broom and soared in the air a bit. Circling Lauri and Jake real quick before hovering right beside them. He loved just being in the air. Soaring and feeling the wind blow his hair around. He felt at home on his broomstick. A smile played at his lips from just being back in the air as he heard Lauri introduce herself to Jake, not actually knowing him before today. He was a Puff after all.

Jake turned around to find a short Ravenclaw holding her hand out to him. He blinked not completely sure how to react to this random introduction. "Um...hi. I'm Jacob Abbott but I'm known as Jake," he said awkwardly, shaking her hand tentatively, unsure of what she wanted. He was bad at talking to girls whether he liked them or not. Girls were confusing and always wanted something more than what they implied. He heard Mack kick off the ground and it brought him back to the present, reminded of Quidditch.
"You're the Ravenclaw keeper aren't you?" he asked recalling her previous plays during the season, "I've seen you. You're pretty good." He hoped that it sounded like a real compliment. In truth, she was actually good- he wasn't just saying that- but most times, compliments he paid girls with just confused them or made them walk away.

Mack watched Lauri and Jake exchange a somewhat awkward greeting with amusement. He was waiting patiently for Lauri to get in the air so he could start throwing around the Quaffle around with her. He wanted nothing more than to ignore everything that was going on right now except Quidditch. No thinking about the official that was going to be at the game. He didn't know if Lauri had read the article or not, but it didn't really matter.
Mack laughed as Lauri threw her fist in the air and yelled "For Ravenclaw!" She always was one of the more peppier Claws when she was in a good mood. Which was most of the time as long as no one pissed her off.
"How about we throw the Quaffle around a bit and then I can practice takin shots at you while you attempt to stop them," Mack laughed as he said this. Thinking that it would be hard for her to stop one of his shots. She was a good keeper though, she had to be if Mack let her on the team.

Jake waved good bye and quickly hurried off the Quidditch pitch before they really started to play. Manuevering himself between the stands, he sat down in a shaded area, away from the larger clusters of people. "Accio Runes book," he muttered. It would look a little weird for a Runes book to go flying through Hogwarts but more and more people were summoning their belongings now instead of actually carrying them so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
He waited patiently for his Runes book while watching Mack and Lauri. Mack was scoring pretty well but there was definitely talent in Lauri as she had managed to block some tricky ones. Jake wished he could play Quidditch. He would have liked to have been a Chaser but it was obvious this dream was not coming true anytime soon.
The Runes book came with parchment sticking out of it. (He had placed it inside before going to breakfast). Quickly glancing at Mack and Lauri to make sure they didn't notice, he set to work on his essay.

going down! Lauri decided, after a while of practicing, that there was a good reason why Mack was captain and that maybe he wasn't going down. She'd blocked quite a few of his shots but nowhere near all of them. She felt a bit sorry for Gryffindor's keeper, he was probably going to get knocked off his broom.... on second thoughts, she didn't feel sorry for him at all. Lauri smirked a little, perhaps she could slip a little something into his food before the match started? Lauri was reminded that she shouldn't be scheming in the middle of practise when a quaffle skimmed past her head. "Watch it!" Lauri growled, knowing full well that it was entirely her fault she'd almost gotten hit but not wanting to take the blame. "I'm going to take a quick break." she shouted over to Mack, there was still a hint of bitterness to her tone.[/ul]

Alex came with her broom and was stretching. She was late because Blaze had to rant about her head of house which annoyed her for some reason. Alex wasn't really listening to whole while her cousin was ranting.
She heard that Ravenclaw's Captian this year would get them the Quidditch Cup and have a year's worth of bragging rights. Then she looked up and wonder who the captain was.
"Well whoever he may be, be better know what his doing to this team.I did NOT sign up just to be trashed by the other teams..." she said out loud. She was a beater and a really good one. Quidditch was a sport where she could release all her anger by hitting those bloody bludgers left and right.

Mack loved being in the air on his broomstick, it was the best feeling in the world. He would spend all day in the air if he could. Unfortunately he had classes to get to and homework that had to be done. And that stupid habit he had of wanting to read all the time.
They had been just in the air, shooting like Mack said would happen. He was surprised by how many Lauri was able to stop. Then again, he had gotten more than half through the goals. So he really couldn't say anything. She wasn't that good.
It wasn't until Mack had almost hit Lauri that she called for a break. He didn't even know what happened. He was shooting nonstop basically when she just seemed like she wasn't paying attention anymore. Then she tries to blame him!
"Hey! It wasn't my fault you randomly stopped paying attention! Do you honestly think I'd almost hurt my only keeper just to get in a cheap shot?" Mack rolled his eyes and shook his head before he agreed with her and flew to the ground.
There was Gabriella, or Alex as she was called, stretching. Mack went over to her.
"Hey! Came to join us?" Mack smiled a bit, he hasn't met Alex yet, he'd heard of her. But hadn't met her. So he wanted to make a good first impression. "I'm your new captain."

Alex held her broom tight. He was the new captian? Stone? Then she smirked. Her day was going to be great. She had to teach Stone a lesson he'd never forget. And he deserved a lesson after telling Sutton about her and Blaze.
She knew for a fact that Sutton heard all those rumors andnews from Stone. She quickly mounted her broom and flew up nextto Stone. "So, the new captain is a sixth year... Well, we'll see how long you'll last..." Alex spoke.
She tightly held on her bat as she was about to meet a bludger head on, "And for the record, you are in a lot of trouble with me, Stone... And if you can't remember, let me refreash your memory... You told a certain Gryffindor about my relationship with Blaze and he now is having a hrad time trusting me... You will NOT leave this pitch unscratched. That I assure you, Captain." she sneered as she zoomed away.
Stone was going to pay for what he did and he was going to pay dearly, or her name isn't Gabriella Alexis Knightly, Ravenclaw Seventh Year but Slytherin by blood.

It hit Mack like a boulder right on the head. He knew of Alex before, obviously. But he completely forgot about the situation down by the lake that one day. He had attempted to avoid thinking about it, because he had been afraid of what would happen to him if he ever met either of the two again. I guess he was getting his answer right now.
"Look. I didn't tell Chris anything he shouldn't know. I just told him your reputation. It's not my fault it's a bad one." Mack glared at Alex. He hated the fact that this was going to be how he was going to start his Captaincy, and right after the article this morning and with the official coming...
This couldn't be good. That was for sure.
"Look. I don't want to start this off bad. Can we just move on? I heard you and Chris are good now anyway! What's the big deal?"
Mack wasn't afraid of Alex, per say. It was more her cousin. He heard that she was just down right ruthless.

Alex zoomed back and face inches away from him. "How would you know? It took him alot of time to talk to me again. And until now he still can't trust me. All thanks to you... And about him knowing about my reputation, he didn't have to know it from you." she said coldly.
He obviously didn't know that Alex was a light years away from Blaze when it came downto being ruthless. Well it was expected since she was the perfect angel to begin with. No one, not even her co-housemates know how evil Alex can really be.
"If you fear my cousin like the rest of the school does...[smirks] Learn to fear me who is much much worse than her... You can even ask her yourself... Watch out, Stone. One revenge and everything will be alright... For me that is." Alex told him and sneered.
This time she zoomed away and got twobludgers fly sky high without trouble. She was going to enjoy her day, and no one was going to ruin it for her.

Mack didn't know what to do when she got an inch away from his face. She was pissed. He couldn't believe this... He wanted everything to go perfectly. That wasn't going to happen with her here. He thought maybe he shouldn't have told Chris that. But it wasn't like it was a secret.
After Alex retaliated, she flew off into the air. Mack looked in the stands, towards Jake. Hoping that he would help him in some way. But he didn't know how he would. Jake was working on some kind of homework. Mack wasn't surprised. He always did that, and yet he always thought Mack didn't know.
Mack took a deep breath before heading up into the sky on his broom again.
"Why don't we continue doing what we were doing before. but this time try hitting bludgers my way for extra practice. That way we all will be doing something." Mack didn't want to say it, but there was no other thing he could do with a beater a keeper and a chaser only. So he had no choice. He just hoped he could dodge everything she hit his way.

she thought bitterly to herself, not sure what Belaya had actually done, just knowing it was something bad. While Knightly seemed to be sneering something or another at Mack, Lauri decided to join Jake up in the stands while they were taking a break. Hopefully then Knightly wouldn't spot her straight away, she knew she still hadn't forgotten what Lauri had done. Personally, she thought it was no big deal; all she'd done is throw her books across the hall and it was her fault for ordering Lauri around anyway. She saw Jake trying to work on his essay and sighed, "Let me guess, it's due in tomorrow? You forgot about it?" She sat down next to him and peered over at what he was writing. She smirked a little, "If you think Professor Theoreux is going to be happy with that, then you've got another thing coming!"[/ul]
