Draco wanted to tell Potter not to get used to it. That a smile on his lips was very rare and to not expect it, but he couldn't get himself to say it. It seemed like Potter wanted him to smile... so he wasn't going to let him down by saying that. Draco might even try smiling more often. It was the least her could do, honestly. Potter had done a lot more for Draco than he probably realized.
"My mother is well. I think she's doing better with her life without my father. Just like myself." It was true. Draco wasn't ashamed to tell anyone that his father had been the reason he was such a fucked up kid. The reason he made fun of and bullied people. Draco would have returned that question by asking how his mother was, but considering the circumstances, he had to change the question.
"What about your family? How are your children?"

Harry was glad that Narcissa was doing well. He was hoping that he could get a chance to talk to her and thank her properly for what she did for him. If not because of her, Harry knew that he might had actually died during the battle.
"I'm glad to hear that she's doing well. And that you are too. Lucius was a prideful man and he must have been blinded by power and wealth. I can't blame him to want that for his family..." harry trailed off. He didn't want ed to talk about Lucius Malfoy.
He smiled back again, "My children are all fine... James, Albus and Lily are all at Hogwarts. Ginny is on recovery at her parents house. The run in with the bludger while practicing broke her arm and a few ribs but she's fine." he said. "You know, I'm surprised that my children were alright with the divorce." Harry began.
"They all just stared at me and Ginny and was like "Oh, well, as long as your both happy with your decision, we're alright with it." and we were in shock. To think that they were more mature than we gave them credit for." Harry chuckled as he recalled the night they old their children.

Draco listened to everything Harry was saying. For some reason he couldn't get himself to stop if he wanted to. He liked this. Although he would never admit it. He liked being friendly with Potter and having a peaceful conversation with him for once instead of having to yell and fight with him. It was a pleasant change of events.
"Sometimes I don't think we give our children enough credit. I'm rather proud of my children, although they both think I hate them probably." Draco took a deep sigh. "Alexandria is under the delusion I hate her guts. Which... isn't necessarily true. Tough love and all that... right?" Draco asked him. As if he needed Harry's approval. "Scorpius seems like he lives to defy me. I think he's going to be big someday whatever he chooses to do. He's extremely smart. The first Ravenclaw Malfoy in... well. I don't know how long because I don't know a Malfoy that was in Ravenclaw." Draco chuckled. He loved his children more than anything in the world... but he didn't tell them that very often. Well... he didn't think he had ever told them that.

Harry smiled at Draco. "You know, my children are like that too. They hate me when I tell them that I'll be gone for a few months and don't know when I'll be back." Harry began. "I think James hates me the most since I've broken too many promises. Albus barely speaks to me and to his other siblings." he was in deep thought. "And Lily... Well, Lily is my only girl. And with that fact, she worries about me more than anyone else."
Harry sighed and leaned back on his chair. "Maybe your right. And your right... Tough love and all. I can say that my Albus is like your Scorpius in some ways. James seems to dislike the family name and Lily won't even dare tell anyone if it were possible." Harry shook his head. He tried to smile but was failing.
"And I thought that being 'The Boy Who Lived' was going to be alright with them. But I guess I'm wrong. It seems like a burden on them." he looked and sounded so sad. But he snapped out of it. He turned back to Draco. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be all down on you... It's just... I don't have anyone else I can talk to lately. Ron and Hermione are always busy with their growing family and Teddy is busy with his own work. It's like, no one even asks me if I'm alright anymore." he said.
It had been a long time since anyone has asked him if he was alright. They must have thought that since his Harry Potter, he'll always be alright and problem free. Harry had to sigh in frustration.

Draco listened to Harry with as much attention he could muster. He pulled his leg up and put it over his other leg for lack of anything else to do but the need to move. Draco was surprised at how he actually didn't mind listening to what Harry was saying.
"Kids take everything differently. I'm sure they're proud of what you've done, but don't like the fact that they get the attention because of it. I'm sure it gets tiresome after a while." Draco told Harry with a small smile. Draco was surprised at how he was starting to feel more comfortable around Harry. "They all love you, though. How could they not..." Draco wasn't sure why he said that... but he did. It didn't mean anything. Did it? No.. no of course not. Just Draco being friendly for once in his life.
"We're friends now... So I suppose I'll always be here should you need to talk, vent, whatever." Draco strangely meant that, too. Draco was loyal to his friends. If he and Potter were in fact going to be friends, and it seemed like they were, then he would defend Potter until they stopped being friends. That meant he would do anything for him. Just because that was what a friend meant to Draco. It just took a lot to be Draco's friend.

Harry was stunned. Did he just here Draco right? "D-did you j-just say.." He stuttered. He wasn't sure if he heard right or that he was just imagining that Draco said the words Harry wanted to hear. "Are you feeling alright Draco?" he asked again.
This was too good to be true. If it were a dream, Harry didn't want to wake up any more. He was happy in his dream land. Then he smiled at the Malfoy heir. "You know, for a second there, I thought that I just imagined you saying that you agreed to be my friend and that you'd be here for me to talk to and vent out." he smiled a little.
"If this is a dream, I wish I don't have to wake up anymore. It's better here. Having someone to talk to and just be myself even for a little while." he said and closed his eyes. "I've been so tired since we were in school. I always had to be the strong one. The guy who had all the answers and makes plans. I was never that one." he said and shook a little. He was really tired of his life and just wanted a normal life.
"After this last mission, "I'm resigning as Head Auror. Though I've only been the Department Head for five years, it feels like I've been working as Head Auror since we were in school. This 'fighting for the good of others' is getting pretty tiring for me. I need to spend time with my family more." he added before leaning back on his chair.

Draco hadn't really thought about how that statement would seem weird to Harry. It hadn't crossed his mind that it would surprise him at all, but he got why. "You heard me correct." Draco said with a slight smile, but not a big one.
"I get what you mean. All that fighting. All the standing up against evil crap can probably get tiring after a while." Draco said considerately. He meant that, Draco couldn't stand being an auror after all the fighting that went down while they wee in school. Even if he was on the opposite side of it before.
"Your children will like the fact you'll be able to spend more time with them, I'm sure. Especially your little girl. She seems rather fond of you, you know." Draco smiled. From what Harry had told him, it seemed like his little Lily loved him an awful lot.

Harry was glad that Draco was starting to relax a bit around him. "Yeah, Lily does love me more than the boys do. But then again, boys don't really show what they feel because their boys right?" Harry joked and laughed. James and Albus had withdrawn themselves from showing their emotions when they started Hogwarts. But it didn't bother Harry one bit. Because he knew that even if they didn't say it, his children loves him still.
Then he sighed, "I just wish people will forget about the war and the part I played in it. It was years ago and everyone has been trying to move on, especially me. I want to be able to walk down the street without being mobbed by people who keeps thanking me and recalling the day I killed Voldemort." he said as he finally finished his dessert.
"I hoped you like the whole dinner, Draco. Your the first I have since I moved here really. The children and Ginny are the only ones who have been here. Not even Ron, Hermione, Luna, and Neville have seen this place yet. I hope you enjoyed Even if it were just you and me." Harry smiled as he snapped his fingers and the dishes vanished before the table.

"I just think girls are more capable of love than boys are. Teenage boys don't like showing it. Makes them seem soft or something." Draco chuckled. He wasn't going to mention how his daughter hated him more than his son did. Or they both hated him the same. One of the two, at least.
"Well don't worry, Potter. I won't thank you for defeating Voldemort and saving the wizarding world. Even though it made my life a lot better after the Dark Lord was gone." Draco admitted, looking away for a second as to not recall that horrid memory.
Then Draco though of something that might make his little outburst earlier a little better. "Potter, I was wondering." Draco started, looking back at him. "I have this invitation to a party thing at the Maxwell's. Would you care to accompany me there? I don't actually want to go alone... and Astoria is busy that night with whatever it is that she does."

Harry smiled, "thanks. You're one of the very few then to not thank me about it. It was years ago. We should all just move one." he said as he took a deep breath before chocking on the air he just inhaled. Did he just hear Draco right? he wondered if he was really dreaming now.
"D-did you just ask me what I think you just asked?" he asked. Harry didn't know whether to jump or scream for joy. Draco just asked him to a party. "Are you sure you want me to come with you? People will see us being nice and together. Coming together would simply turn all heads towards us, you know that right?" Harry told Draco.
It wasn't that Harry didn't want to go. he would love to go anywhere, with Draco. but he was just worried for the blond Malfoy Heir. He might not be so calm when people see them together. Harry knew how Draco valued his name and reputation and he didn't want to be the reason for Draco to lose it now.

Draco actually laghed at Potters rssponse. Sure, Draco knew it was a big out of character for him to be asking Potter to a party type thing, but Draco felt bad about freaking out at him and for everything thst he had put Harry through during Hogwarts. It was the least he could do.
"Yes, Potter. You heard correct. I'm asking you to go with me. I dnt care if other people see. You're not going to hurt my family name, if anything, you would make it better. I don't care about being seen eith you." That was tthe truth, Potter couldn't make his reputation worse, only better by default. He didn't care about that. Draco had decided to live life by what he wanted. Not any one else.

Harry smiled again, "Thanks for the invite then, Draco. And yes, I'd love to go. It's been a while since I last been to a party and a social one at that." Harry told Draco with a bright smile.
"I promise not to embarrass you in front of people then. As I remember, you kept saying that I had horrible people skills back then." Harry teased as he recalled the Yule Ball back in their fourth year. "But I have to admit that I did have bad skills then. But I hope I improved through the years." he added.
Harry stood up, "Would you like a drink? I can make you one if you want." Harry asked him as he went over to the mini bar at the corner. Harry needed a drink since he was feeling a bit hyper already.

Draco didn't know why he was glad that Potter had accepted his invitation to the party. He really hadn't wanted to go alone, and now Potter was saving him from that dreadful feat. Now he had company with him that he could use as an excuse should anybody unworthy of his time came and tried to talk to him.
"Good. I'm glad Potter. It's uh. Tomorrow." Draco coughed and looked away. He should have said that earlier. Draco smiled slyly at Potter, like he was sorry. That wasn't true. Draco didn't have the emotions to be sorry. At least. He didn't think he did.
Draco's smile turned genuine as he followed Draco over to the bar. "I'd love a drink, actually. What can you make?" Draco chuckled. It was shocking him how comfortable he was being around Potter. It was... weird. And it was scaring him.

"Tomorrow? Well, that's... It's alright. I'll just have to find a suit then. I'll try asking Luna if she can help me. Or Hermione." he said as he began to mix some bottles and bring down two glasses.
"I know a few. You should taste my sangria." harry pronounced the word as if he was Spanish. It was one of the few drinks Harry learn after moving into the new house. He was fond of learning new things and mixing drinks was now one of them.
Harry poured the mixed drink of the glasses he brought down and added a few finishing touches for added pleasure. He left the mini bar and gave Draco a glass of the drink he made.
"Here, it's not very alcoholic much but it's taste will be great." Harry told Draco as he took a sip of his own. he then bit into the strawberry and sat back on on his seat. "So, tell me about this party. Who's throwing it?" he asked Draco.
[After replying to this post, Draco can post at the party thread]

Draco smiled apologetically at Harry. "I'm sure one of them will be able to help you before the party starts. We don't have to be on time, either." Draco chuckled. This was weird. He should be glaring and sneering and making mean jokes at him. Not inviting him to a party and chuckling and smiling. This wasn't Draco!
"Thank you," Draco told Harry as he accepted the drink and took a small sip to see if he was going to like it. His face scrunched into one of approval. "This is good, Potter." Draco told him before taking another sip of his drink.
"It's just another pureblood party thing. It's being put on by the Maxwell's this time. Normally it's different pureblood's that organize it every time. I've held one or two from time to time. A few times non purebloods will be invited. Nothing out of the ordinary if you come. Considering who you are." Draco told him honestly.
