Feeling Brent's smirk against Chase's lips made him mirror it back. This was how all kissing should be. Smiling while you're doing it. It showed how comfortable you are with your partner. Chase was completely comfortable with Brent, and it showed. He loved Brent.
After a little bit, Chase decided that it wasn't nice to be making out while their best friends were making food. As Chase could smell something cooking, he decided they should stop and go see what they were doing. "Come on... we'll have time for this later. When they leave. I plan to stay after a bit. If you're lucky, I'll stay the night." Chase winked at Brent before unraveling his arms around Chase's neck and grabbing hold of one of his hands. Dragging him over to the door without paying attention to the complaints he was sure would come.
When he opened the door to go to the kitchen though. He didn't know what to do. Reid and Alex were in there.... but they were kissing.
"What the fuck!" Chase said rather loudly. What was going on here...

Reid wanted to pout when Alex moved to finish dinner. That was NOT ten minutes. He watched Alex finish putting the food in the oven and walk back to him. He smiled. Twenty-five minutes was plenty of time to make a dent in what they missed while apart. He kissed him deeply, showing Alex just how much he missed him. The kiss almost caused him to moan deep in his throat. He probably would have if Chase and Brent hadn't walked in.
He pulled back from the kiss and leaned his forehead against Alex's. He whispered. "I know we hadn't planned on telling them yet but it seems like we've been caught. We can lie if you aren't ready for this." He wanted Alex as comfortable as possible in all this. If that meant lying to their best friends then so be it. "So what do you say my little Jay bird?"

and Alex? "...Guys?" Brent said slowly, giving them a 'what the fuck is going on here?' look. It was safe to say that he hadn't expected to see that...[/ul]

Mierda.
Was the only word that echoed in Alex's head on hearing the door open and seeing both Chase and Brent stood there. They'd more or less been caught red-handed making out in Brent's kitchen. The situation was laughable. But Alex wasn't seeing the funny side. He felt as though someone had drenched him with a bucket of icy water, the pit of his stomach was nothing more than knots of nerves. It was too soon to tell them! Wasn't it? Alex skittered away from Reid, pale as a ghost, just nodding with odd jerks of his head, agreeing but not knowing what to say. He looked over at Chase and Brent and made a small noise, like a little scared squeak of some sort. Alex turned around and busied himself to prepare plates. He opened a cupboard but flitted over to a drawer to dig out spoons before going to get plates. When he returned for them, out of pure nerves, he forgot about the small door and thumped his forehead on it. With shaking hands, he rubbed his head and glanced back over at Chase and Brent. "Re-Reid and me...we're k-kinda... dating?" Alex snapped his gaze over to Reid, colour pinching his ivory cheeks. Still nursing his forehead, he gave a half-smile before going back to the plates. "But... n-not since long." Alexander swallowed and forced himself to take a deep breath. This wasn't a big deal. Just two friends out of a group of friends going out, seeing where things between them would go. But still... it was nerve wracking. SMASHAlex brought his hand up to his head yet again and began to laugh weakly. At this, at himself, at his nerves, at his clumsiness. He was making a scene out of nothing. The Spaniard gave his back to his friends and whipped out his wand, mumbling "reparo" to fix the broken porcelain plate.[/blockquote][/blockquote] outfit| clicky! notes|

Chase held onto Brent's hands tighter. Trying not to freak out completely. Their best friends were dating, but not just that. They hadn't bothered to tell them that they were dating. Hell, Chase didn't even know Reid swung that way entirely. They had all guessed that Alex swung that way. It wasn't too hard to figure out.
"Yo- you're dating?" Chase asked kind of lamely, stuttering slightly. "Why didn't you tell us?" Chase had to admit... he was a little hurt that him and Brent weren't let in on this. It wasn't that he cared they were dating, he honestly thought it was cool, their personalities matched well enough. He thought they might even make a cute couple. But... they were supposed to be best friends, right? Chase didn't even know what to think about this, honestly. He just kept holding onto Brent's hand, he didn't really know how Brent was going to act either... which scared him.

Reid grabbed Alex to calm him down. He really didn't need him breaking everything right now. "Jay, calm down okay. There's no need to freak out or be nervous. It's just Chase and Brent. Don't worry so much." He wrapped his arm around Alex's waist and turned back toward Brent and Chase.
He had to admit, he was a tad shocked by Chase's reaction. It wasn't like they were hiding their relationship, well okay so they kinda were but it was new so they didn't want to ruin anything. They had planned on telling their friends about it eventually, they really had. "Guys we just started dating. Hell we haven't even gone out on a proper date yet. I promise we were going to tell you, just not so soon." He hoped they believed him. He didn't think an argument right now would be good for anyone.

Alex nodded with another jerk of his head at Reid. He looked up at him and held his gaze for a moment, feeling colour flood his pale cheeks when he wrapped his arm around his waist. Alex snapped his gaze down to the floor though, towards his checkered shoes, on hearing Brent's voice. It dripped with malice. Alex began to clench and unclench his jaw - he felt bad. "We... Just wanted t-to see if it'd work f-first." Alex offered in a meek voice, still staring at the floor. He didn't want to look at Chase and Brent, they were obviously irked at only finding out about it now. It was understandable so Alex's temper didn't flare up. "Like if it didn't... There wouldn't be so much awkwardness after... I don't know..." The young man mumbled, bringing up a hand to tug nervously on one of his bangs. They were all making a scene of out nothing. They were just two friends dating... And they just hadn't gotten around to tell their other friends yet. Alex kept quiet after that, letting the silence drag on, still snugged gently into Reid's side. He startled though on hearing the ping of the oven - food was ready. Swallowing again, Alex slipped from Reid's embrace with a small smile and flitted over to the oven. Squatting before it, he opened it and reached for the dish with some oven mitts that he had found. It smelt lovely if he had to say so himself, the breadcrumbs were a deep, golden colour, just gently toasted. He set it on the side and stared down at it, rubbing the back of his neck after slipping a mitt off. "I-I'm sorry." Alex mumbled. "It was my idea to not tell you yet... I just don't know how all this dating stuff works. Can we just... Eat?"

Chase took a deep breath. He felt Brent's hand grip his probably even tighter than he was gripping his and knew that it was because Brent didn't want to lose his temper. Chase knew he wouldn't want to get mad at his best friends, yet the feelings of that were there. It was natural... the four of them weren't supposed to have secrets. Yet they had been keeping a major one from them.
"Yeah... whatever." Chase mimicked Brent before pulling him closer and putting his lips to Brent's ear to whisper something they wouldn't hear, still holding onto his hand. "Just... relax. I know you're probably mad, Boo. I am too." Chase said before kissing his cheek and turning back to face his other friends. "Yeah. Let's... eat." Chase said in a dead voice. One that told the other two that he was still mad at them, but he was going to ignore it. Even though Chase didn't know how long he could ignore something like this.

Reid could almost see the tension in the air. He thought the guys might be making a little too much out of this. For goodness sakes those two were practically having an affair. That...probably wasn't a bright thing to bring up. Right now his main priority was Alex. He needed to comfort him, let him know that it was ok.
He went over to Alex to help him set the table. When he reached him he wrapped his arms around him from behind. "It will be ok. They are our best friends. They will come around, you'll see. Let's just try to enjoy this amazing meal you made us." He kissed Alex on the neck and moved away. "I'll help by getting the plates and silverware. You just take that to the table." He got four plates and four forks from the cupboard and took it to the table. Hopefully there wouldn't be any blow ups.

Alex gave Reid a weak smile when he hugged him. He let his head fall back so it pressed gently against the man's shoulder, leaving his neck free to plant a gentle kiss on. A small sigh escaped Alex's parted lips when he did. "Could always be worse..." Alex mumbled, picking up the casserole with the oven mitts. "...we might of not just been kissing. If you know what I mean." The idea of having Brent and Chase barge in like they did while they possibly had hands wandering to places other than hips, at least, made Alex giggle. It made this situation seem humorous. "Gracias, Ree" Alex smiled gratefully, pressing his head on his arm for all but a second as he carried the dish into the next room. When Alex got there and saw the darkened faces that his friends had, he felt something inside him bend and almost snap. Alex set the dish on the table heavily, enough so to make a loud noise. It was a warning. "Sorry again for not saying anything..." The usual purrs had deepened into a soft growl. "Not everything can go everyone's way. Now... No one gets casserole until those glowers are gone. Me entendeís?" Alex stood there, one hand on his hip and the other pointing at both Brent and Chase with a large serving spoon. If the air wasn't so tense Alex would look almost comical. Like a mother chiding two young boys at the dinner table.

Chase did not want to hear about that... not his best friends! If they had just started dating, why were they already doing that. It didn't add up and just kind of made Chase even more mad. This... was some weird dream. Right? This wasn't really happening. Chase would wake up in a moment. Maybe laying next to his amazing boyfriend, but Reid and Alex wouldn't be there. Yeah... that was it. This was a dream.
If it was... why wasn't he waking up yet.
Chase went over to the table with Brent and pulled a chair next to him. He didn't want to sit next to Reid or Alex right now... He felt like Brent when he got mad. Chase supposed he shouldn't be making a big deal about this like he was, but he couldn't help it. For the longest time these three were the only love he'd really had. Ever since his mother died shortly after Hogwarts. He never had a true father. To know that two of them had hidden something that big from him when they were supposed to be open with each other at all times hurt.
Needing to be close to Brent, Chase reached over under the table and rested his hand on his leg, it dangling on the inside of Brent's thigh. "I don't think you'll be able to get rid of our glares, Alex. So just let it go. We're trying not to get too mad. Don't push it." Chase told him, darkening his glare a bit on Alex. If he didn't want a fight... it wouldn't be good to push them when they were trying to be good.

Reid couldn't understand why the guys were acting this way. There wasn't anything to hide. They hadn't even gone out on a proper date yet. Why did Brent and Chase take this so hard?
He didn't want to see Alex's hard work go out the window but he couldn't let this slide. He had two options. One, keep this argument going and therefore side with Alex on not getting food while there were glares. Two, he could just sit down, ignore the glares and hope Alex feeds them. He really didn't think Alex needed yet another person against him so the decision was pretty simple.
He came up beside Alex and glared at the other couple. "You two can't be serious. Why does this matter so much to you? You two were exactly open about your relationship for the longest time." Reid almost stopped here knowing this might not be the best way to go about this but he didn't care. They were beings stupid, so he'd be stupid too. "You hid behind your marriage Brent and you, Chase, just let him. I wonder how many times you two fooled around while he was still married. You have no right to demand that we tell you what is going on as soon as it happens. It JUST happened a week ago. Can't we get comfortable with it before shouting it to the whole world."
Reid took a couple deep breaths to calm down, or try to at least. "Look, what's done is done. We can either sit here arguing about it or we can let it go and eat this amazing meal Alex cooked us. What say you?" He really hoped those two would man up and just let it go. But this was Brent and Chase we are talking about. They don't let things go easily.

it was different. D'you think I didn't feel bad that I was lying to everyone? Because I did. I still feel bad." he snapped furiously. Brent didn't know how much more he could take of this so he got to his feet and looked icily over at Reid and Alex before shouting at the pair of them, "I say you can get the fuck out of my house!"[/ul]
